As new parents, I don’t think you get to sleep for at least the first few months of your child’s life. More depending on the circumstances. With my first child, we had a baby monitor, but as we were only able to hear the baby it did not put us as ease enough not to get up constantly to look at him. With my middle child, we had a Nanit cam, and it is was a God sent. After using it for a while and checking its accuracy (Temp in room, camera view, motion sensor, etc) eventually I was comfortable watching TV in a nearby room or sleeping once I set up the alerts to my liking. Now we have another blessing and now I have an Owlet smart sock. I could not be happier with this product and the level of detail it provides you on my child’s sleeping activities.Sleep ... I could not be happier with this product and the level of detail it provides you on my child’s sleeping activities.Sleep Quality:Not only does they device track how long your child sleeps and if they wake up, but it goes a few steps further. Specifically, it looks at patterns. So for instance, if your child moves around a lot, that can be indicative of many things. Anything from sleep irritability to something more concerning like a fever. So that is why I say sleep quality vice sleep. As it is a fairly in depth look at your child’s sleep patterns.Health Sensing:Many of us use a smart watch to track our daily activity and even sleeping activity if that suites you. Personally, I do not sleep with a device on, but I love the fact that I can get basic vitals on my child via my android in a single glance. I can get heartrate as well as blood oxygen levels. Anything can happen, lets be honest here. Every parent worries about things and when it comes to your child those worries are amplified tenfold. This helps us a lot.Ages:It says from infant to 5 y/o. But having tried it on my 3-4 year old she found it annoying and took it off the second she noticed it at night. So I guess it is child dependent.Battery life:It boasts a 16 hour battery life on a single charge. That is fairly accurate actually. I forgot to charge it before using it a second day, only to discover it did not make it through a second night. So make charging part of your ritual. I wish the battery life was longer, and that is my only issue. As I stated before, you cannot watch your child enough as a new parent and this helps ease that anxiety a little. Not only do I recommend this for new parents, but those with a second or third (etc) child just the same. Technology will only improve, and the Smart Sock is proof of that. So far with the exception of missing a charge and the battery dying, this thing is a near perfect product. With the easy to operate intuitive app and rumored upcoming IOS app, it hits all the thinks I could want in a device that I trust my kid to wear. Not only do I love this product, but I am grateful for that added layer of safety.

We brought the camera/sock bundle, and after few hiccups with wifi set up etc we were good to go. Product quality is really good. The camera images are good if you have good wifi. The sock though - I like it (particularly because my baby started rolling onto his belly to sleep at 3 months olds), so it is peace of mind, but if baby is fussing a lot (kicking and moving around) when your trying to get them to sleep, the thing sets off this obnoxious tone on the base station, apparently due to placement issue. You can pause temporarily in the app, but when your trying to calm a fussy baby it’s the last thing you want to deal with, especially in the middle of the night cause this thing is loud! It does not like that and will disconnect.Overall it’s a good product, and would still recommend despite these little annoyance’s.

For what you pay this sock isn't worth it. The app is awful, there are no instructions with the sock just a piece of paper telling you to download the app and then the App is terrible. No way to change the alarm settings or volume, no function to test the alarms, so you don't even know what a red alarm sounds like, doesn't work unless you're in a house with WiFi so can't use it anywhere but at home and right near the base station and even if all that weren't a problem, it doesn't even let you change the alarm parameters to suit your baby so if you have a child with oxygen or a preemie the parameters are completely inappropriate, only alarming when the numbers are so bad that your baby may already be in severe distress or without sufficient oxygen for a long period. ... I got the Owlet Smart Sock 3 Duo (camera & sock) & I can not tell you the peace of mind it has given me! not only that but I keep the app up on my phone all night to see if my daughters heart rate is going up (which, typically, means she’s about to wake up), also so I can see/hear her, when I wake up. The ONLY thing I would change is, if the app is not open/phone is locked, it would still alert the same way as if the app was open.. I sleep with my phone on vibrate (as I’m sure many new parents do) so when I get notifications they don’t make a sound that would wake me up.. I would like it to ALERT the same way it does when the app is open. I also want to mention something I saw in the other reviews; idk why it’s not coming up on your App Store, but it most definitely ... I have the original “Owlet” app on my iPhone, but, I believe, I can still use the “Owlet Dream” App. I have both, but I do prefer the original one.. but that’s probably because I’m more used to it. But I will say, it is worth the money.. I have never slept more peacefully while my baby was sleeping, than I have after I bought this! it is a PRICELESS investment! oh, & the camera quality is without comparison!
The whole concept of monitor and monitoring sock is great. We have been using the owet for over a year. Twice our son stopped breathing and the owlet alerted us through the device and phone apps, and we were able to wake our son and made sure he was breathing again. We were very appreciative of the owlet.Over time, it seems the app got slower and there is a long delay for live video. Onthe Android app, you cannot get a full screen, the option does not work.Just of recently the owlet has stopped recording the readings, this is very disappointing 😞.I feel as though the app for the owlet does not get updated , to keep up with the latest OS releases.
We've been using this product for a month or so now, and it works great. Our baby was sent home with minimal oxygen and is since not using supplemental oxygen at all. We do have the hospital pulse ox monitor though, and have compared it with this. This usually picks up better and more consistently honestly. The one caveat, and I hope to see this change now that the product is FDA approved - you really NEED to be able to modify the parameters... Or at the very least, the O2 should be 85 on the low, but really, just make them adjustable. Put in a clause or waiver you have to check off to change them to release liability, whatever it takes. I bought this product a week or two before my baby boy was born. Overall, the product accomplishes what it has set out to do... it provides an easy-to-use app with the ability to monitor your baby's heart rate and blood oxygen levels, as well as an alert system if either of those levels go out of range. The sock itself is well made and I also appreciate the ability to charge the sock with the magnet on the base station. With that said, there are a few minor flaws that customers should be aware of:1. During initial setup, there is a point where you have to leave the app and go into your list of WiFi networks and connect to the Wifi network that the Owlet is broadcasting to be able to continue, but there is no explicit instruction to do this. During initial setup, there is a point where you have to leave the app and go into your list of WiFi networks and connect to the Wifi network that the Owlet is broadcasting to be able to continue, but there is no explicit instruction to do this. This may be detailed in the manual online, but it's really something that should be explicitly said during the on-screen prompts during setup.2. If you have your baby sleeping in your room with you, and you have the Owlet base station on your nightstand, the base station will start emitting a lullaby whenever you walk with the baby too far away from the base station. This was a big annoyance to us until we figured out that you can actually press and hold the base station to turn it off temporarily in these situations. This wasn't all that clear when first setting up and using the product, but just so new customers are aware.3. We have had 2 false alarms so far where the base station lit up red signaling that there was a problem, but the issue was really that the sock had shifted slightly and transmitted an inaccurate reading. My advice for new customers would be to treat red alarms from this product as an initial signal to check on your baby, but don't necessarily immediately assume the worst because it's very possible that the sock may have shifted causing a false alarm. This does not happen all that often, but every once in a while it can.Overall though, this product is solid and worth the buy."This review reflects my experience with and opinion of this product as an actual customer. Note: I received a small incentive for posting my opinion."
I have been using this nightly for just over a week now and have loved some features, but also found some areas that aren't as accurate as I'd love.As a parent that experienced loss and went on to have another child, I have been very anxious about my baby's breathing. Now that she's reached 6mths old, I wanted to find something to help me monitor her breathing and how it affects her sleep. The great thing about the socks is the app. I live how easy it is to use and how fast I can get hold of customer service via the live chat. The socks are soft and don't cause any strap marks like I worried about and no heating from the sensor which was something I was concerned about. The only real problem I have had is that the app can have moments where it displays .... ... Instead of a heart rate or oxygen percentage. It also isn't as accurate at identifying when my baby is asleep and sometimes has her as being in a light sleep when she's just sitting very still or feeding. I don't know whether this is due to her having one side of her diaphragm unable to move (something we recently found out but hasn't helped my anxiety) as she breathes a bit faster than normal but something that parents need to be aware of as little ones mouth breaths when they have colds and can breathe a bit faster.I love the light up monitor as it saves watching the app but I also enjoy knowing I can check the app and see how she's breathing in real time myself.Would I advise anyone to get one? Yes, although it is a massive expenditure for something that has little flaws that could be tightened up or explanations for why you sometimes get ... And nothing tracked at moments on the chart in the app
We bought Owlet after hearing great things from friends. Unfortunately we have had nothing but problems with it since first use. We were repeatedly unable to access the app. After trouble shooting ourselves, we contacted technical support who clearly didn't read our emails and kept telling us to uninstall then reinstall the app. It took days for them to respond to each email and they then tried to close the communication when we didn't respond for one day!Once able to access the app we got straight to using the sock and camera. We're unable to use the full screen function for the camera. The alert for the sock sounds everytime we use it sating it is disconnected from the base. We decided to purchase the Owlet sock after our premie baby had spent the first few days of her life in the NICU and we became accustomed to the blood oxygen monitoring she had there. After using it for about a month, we have been very happy with the purchase.PROS: Provides peace of mind while your baby sleeps in a way that is otherwise difficult to have. If the Owlet sock dock isn't making an alarm sound, you can be assured that your baby's heartbeat and oxygen levels are both normal. The sock has also proven useful to build confidence that our daughter can safely tolerate something new. If the Owlet sock dock isn't making an alarm sound, you can be assured that your baby's heartbeat and oxygen levels are both normal. The sock has also proven useful to build confidence that our daughter can safely tolerate something new. We used the sock during her first experience in all of the following, which gave us both confidence and peace of mind: baby bouncer, baby carrier backpack, and sleep sack. For example, the baby carrier backpack could be used from 7 pounds, which we were eager to try once our daughter reached that weight milestone. But as a small, premature baby, we were a bit reluctant to try it. But by first putting the Owlet sock on her before going into the carrier for the first time, it gave us the confidence knowing we'd immediately be alerted if she had difficulty breathing once inside the carrier.CONS: The only one worth mentioning is the sock does not fit well on very small feet. Our daughter was 5.5 pounds at birth, and even the smallest size of sock simply was too big for her for at least the first 2 weeks. Eventually we found that installing the sock upside down actually fit better and ensured the sensor stayed close to her foot during the whole night. For our less than 7 pound baby, we found that using the smallest sock in the right orientation must be fastened to an uncomfortable tightness in order to work properly. This review reflects my experience with and opinion of this product as an actual customer.
