This procduct saved my bunnies' lives many times over. Apparently, some bunnies will eat it right out of a bowl, but we always had to hand-feed ours. My 13 yr-old who passed recently frequently got GI stasis (some bunnies are just more prone to it than others). Was always greatful for this product and kept it on hand just in case. My only criticism would be the price. It feels excessive for what it actually is and Oxbow is supposed to promote the health of small animals, so I feel it shouldn't be lriced quite as highly as it is, especially because it is such an essential product when a lot of animals are sick.

This product has seen me through more sick guinea pigs than I can count. Most of them have loved the taste (I usually get the banana) so it’s usually not an issue to get them to eat it. I always have it in my treatment arsenal and it’s one of the first things I break out when I realize something is wrong. All small herbivore owners should have some on hand!

This stuff saved my bunnys life. She had recently been spayed and fell ill to GI statis, The ultimate bunny killer. Only two days on this and she was back to her normal self, definitely recommend to have on hand in case your rabbit stops eating but also please see a vet because of how serious this illness is.

Critical care gets them feeding and stops scurvy.

This stuff when used with a syringe feed saves guinea pigs lives. I mix a small amount of orange juice sometimes and she tries to suck the syringe. The bag I just replaced had been in my drawer for 2 years and it was perfect. I even tried it an it tasted ok.

Good for sick and picky pets

My guinea pig refused to eat since she lost her best friend. Was loosing weight to much, it was about 624 gr. Now with critical care are better and make her to eat again and gain some weight. Not to mention when she see critical care how much she want to eat. Thanks to OXBOW for their great products!

Saved her from starving!

My Guinea Pig stopped eating, her teeth were overgrown and must have been for a while from the previous owners, luckily I had bought some Critical Care the day before, so I put it straight to action, she first of didn't take to being fed through a syringe, but after spending over £250 on Critical Care feed for her, sadly it all got to much, and the vet finally found that her jaw was slightly deformed from having her teeth overgrown, so sadly we got couldn't save her. But if it wasn't for this food she would have passed a long time before. I was recommended this particular Critical Care by my vet for a poorly Degu as another brand of powdered CC at home, given previously to feed a post-surgery case, wasn't Oxbow and had been rejected - that is, spat out (frankly I didn't blame him, it didn't smell too appealing) a couple of times when trying to feed him. He gobbled the Oxbow up and it was very tasty to another of my poorly degus plus her Mum who eagerly lapped up the drips too. This stuff comes as powder, smells slightly aniseed-y and thickens considerably if left to sit for about 5 mins. It's then somewhat difficult to draw up into a feeding syringe and pushes out a bit like toothpaste but goes down well and less is wasted dribbling down chins. This is a very good product!!!

This has been a life saver for my guinea pigs!! I introduce it to them when they are small, and they ALL love it!! It's a must-have for any guinea pig owner. I do add either peas or carrot baby food to it. And you have to make it soupy enough to be able to syringe it (I don't follow the directions on the bag.)
