OXO Good Grips Non-stick Pro Dishwasher Safe 12" Open Frypan

It's all that it says it is, no exaggeration. As with any good non-stick frying pan, it is important to be patient and not crank up the heat to get it going, but rather to start with medium heat and wait for the pan to gradually reach the right temperature. This pan is beautifully made and a pleasure to own.

This skillet is worth a few extra dollars. It has a heavier weight and thicker handle compared to most small non-stick skillets. Great for eggs and grilled sandwiches. I mostly use silicone, but on occasion I use a metal spatula. Over the last 6 months I have gotten a few minor scratches, but they do not affect the non stick surface.

I bought this pan over the soft grip version because I sometimes go from stovetop to oven for dishes, and didn’t want to worry about wrapping the handle with wet paper towels and foil, incase the oven got too hot. I seasoned the skillet on low, and once I started using it I was giddy. I found I could cook at lower temps with out hot and cold spots like my old, college, set of pans. Yes, I kept them that long. I also didn’t have to work around a hump in my pan like my 12” T-fal. All in all a great pan.

Awesome. I got it at Costco and has been using them everyday. Mine are the ones with metal handles. Perfectly smooth and non-stick. The maker recommands not washing them in the dishwasher but apparently you can. The coat will just last longer. I just wash them by hand and it’s a real breezy to clean. Because they got the metal handle, they go in the oven and they look very high end.

I researched nonstick pans when ours died and came up with Oxo, which was much less expensive than I was prepared to pay because I wanted good pans (dammit!) These have not disappointed. Probably 6-8 months in and they're like new and still clean up easily. Recommend.

Good pan but...

I also bought this pan on Cook's Country recommendation. This 12 inch works great until you place a 12 inch lid on it. On mine it is out of round at location where handle and rivet are assembled. There is roughly 1/4" gap (see photo), by the way this pan does not come with a lid however I added a 12 inch lid from another OXO Pan/Lid product. My guess as to what happened, on punching and inserting handle to pan stress from manufacturing may have caused this deformation. I suggest quality control look at this area and not assume it is round.

Great pan!!!!

This pan is so awesome! Make sure you use wood utensils so it will stay great. No metal. I use it for everything now. Nothing sticks!! Going to get another one.

Hot Handles

The set cooks well and cleans up well. They are none stick which works well. The issue is the handles are advertised as riveted stay cool handles. This is not true. The handles do get hot and the cover on the pots get very hot, you can burn your hand. The dissapointing part is the company told me I am not cooking on the stove correctly when using the pots. So they won’t stand by there product. I would not recommend this set.

Solid and durable non-stick performance

I have the 8" OXO Pro frypan*, and found it to be solid with very good non-stick properties, so I went ahead and got the 12". The 12" looks giant next to the 8"! Nice to have this large size for cooking bacon, large omelettes, etc. You can do two grill cheese sandwiches at the same time.Just make sure not to use metal utensils!*One negative thing about the small 8" OXO Pro is that the handle is so heavy that the pan can tip on a cooktop grate when empty. I guess the handle size is the same as the larger pans--but tipping is not a problem with the weight of the larger pans.

Such a disappointment, wanted to love these

As much as we wanted to love this set that we registered for, after under a year of use we had issues with the coating coming off. After a very difficult process with customer service,and having to ship the while set back they were replaced. Now, again after under 2 years of use we are experiencing the same problem! I am extremely upset considering this was not an inexpensive product, and we have always hand washed and taken caution with this set. I hope this review helps others make a better choice, because the frustration and waste of money aren't worth it!
