I'd been searching online for a basket-type tea infuser that would offer these features: 1. room enough to hold and expand loose leaves in either a large mug or teapot; 2. easy to use and clean; and 3. nice to look at day after day. There are many out there but this one checks all the boxes! It's also so well-designed that it's actually a joy to use .... durable stainless steel with helpful silicone features, a combo drip tray/lid, and basket "mesh" that holds in all the tea pieces but releases them very easily for cleaning. Truly one of my favorite OXO products!.

I bought this a few weeks ago just in time for the cold fronts! I have been hearing about much better loose tea leaves are versus tea bags, so I thought I'd give the OXO Tea Infuser a try. I was not disappointed.I really like the size of this compared to others. I can store in my cabinets with ease.I have found that this infuser fits all my mugs, even my wide mouth camping mug.I did notice a difference in the taste of my tea. Buying bulk teas and using the OXO infuser made the flavors much stronger than tea bags. OXO provided a guide for water temps and times for tea types. I found this very helpful. Since most bulk teas are fresher I was able to use the tea in my infuser at twice. Although I need to steep the second one a little longer. It fits and many different size cup or glass, from 2 3/4" to 5" inside diameter. Rubber lining under the arms hold it in place. I ran through top rack of dishwasher on normal cycle with high temp. dry and it did not damage it. No tea particle came through, using Teavana loose tea. The cap keeps heat in while steeping, and hold infuser nicely when done.

This is perfect for a single mug. I like that it's not a free flowing metal ball and that it doesn't require a whole tea kettle situation. It's super simple to use and easy to clean. I like that it allows the loose leaf tea to float in a lot of water rather than be trapped in a small space. The lid is great to turn over on a table and use as a rest for the basket. It had short walls around the side to ensure the tea won't flow onto the table.
OXO has done it again. I love the size of this infuser. I can not wait for my mint to come up this year so I can add it to my tea. This product will hold the full size leaves. It is wide enough that I can now use my old teapot with loose tea. See photo. The silicon helps protect my fingers from the heat, and it protects my good china tea pot from damage The lid is an excellent idea as well. It allows me to infuse more than one pot of tea with the same leaves.My only complaint is with the seams on this unit. Where the base meets the side seam is a sharp edge that caused a paper type cut on my finger. Now that I am aware of the edge, it causes no problem because I avoid touching that seam.If you see this infuser, make sure you buy it! I promise you will love it.
I love everything about this product except for the overall size. I feel like it's unnecessarily large. The width is fine, but if it were half the depth it would fit better in more types of cups, including tea cups. (it's just fine for mugs) It feels like a lot of space, considering I've never seen directions for putting in more than 2tbsp of tea. That being said, the cap is wonderful, it holds runoff liquid better than another brand that I have. I love that the handles are flat, it sits very securely on my mugs. And the mesh size has been great with cleaning.
I LOVE my new OXO tea brewing basket. The size is perfect for my favorite mug or even my ceramic teapot. The stainless design is sturdy and upscale. Hundreds of small infuser holes are present in the basket and provide a rapid infusing of tea. I prefer my tea weaker rather than stronger, so the basket allows me to control my tea amount and strength. The lid provides an easy way to hold the basket when steeping is complete. The brew basket has an outstanding performance. The silicone edged rim provides for easy touch when the basket lid is hot. This is a high quality upscale product that works perfectly every time. It is easy to clean and easy to use. Paper brewing instructions are included with the packaging.

I’ve been meaning to get a loose leaf tea infuser for quite some tea and finally got this one from OXO. I absolutely love it! The mesh is super tiny so nothing escapes. It’s made of metal so I know it will last and be durable. It’s large enough to hold a decent amount of tea but also fit in almost any mug. And it even comes with the little lid to keep your tea secure while it steeps! Highly recommend!
This tea infuser basket is perfect for a single (or double) cup of tea. Previously, I've searched for silicone infusers and those tend to be more novelty. The OXO Tea Infuser Basket is serious business. It's has a sizable basket for how ever much tea you wish to put it in and allows room for the leaves to bloom. It has silicone on the lid and handles to reduce the heat absorbed by the stainless steel infuser allowing you to lift the basket without burning your fingers. The lid acts as a drip tray when you take the basket out and for when you want to steep your tea for a second round.This is definitely a well thought out and designed product for tea drinkers. I use it at home but I've been thinking about taking it to the office...
