A better option than the single speed Ozito Belt Sander. You will need the slower speeds with coarser grits as the sander is very powerful. Easy to change and track belts. The filter is very effective - no need for a mask.Ozito is always my choice for tools that I do not use often, and they have never let me down.

Used this for decking project, and general DIY. Sometimes rips the sander belt and will build up quickly with dust which, if not cleaned thoroughly can form hard crusts in areas hard to reach. Within 12 months, it simply stopped, undid the screws, gave it a thorough clean (air blower), the bushes were fine, but still not working. Disappointed. I don't have the receipt and it cost me $109

I upgraded to this one because I was getting warranty for the 800W model and thought it would be good to upgrade. This product left grooves and didn't sand flat despite my best efforts to keep it level. The 800 watt model sanded flatter. This one looks like it has a better system for keeping the belt attached, which was a problem for me with the base model because it started shredding belts after about 20 hours of total use. Adjustable speed levels on this model could also come in handy at times.

I bought this 2 weeks ago to strip a small deck.Striped it no problem but I found the Dust Cannister is useless. It has a small intake hole on the sander and that gets clogged.Had to numerous times stop the machine and clean it because of the build up of saw dust behind the belt compartment. Also unless you put some downward pressure on the front it won’t sand level.
It works, but if you're using it for hours on end it's very easy to accidentally sand through the power cable, exposing the live wires. Do yourself a favour and pay a little more to get a cordless sander.
The sander didn't blow me away, but it does the job. The clip on dust collector isn't super efficient, but it captures enough to be useful when filling cracks with glue + sawdust. I do wish it was larger so it didn't need to be emptied as often - but for what it is, it's great.Comes with an 80 grit belt which is of dubious quality, but once I ran through that upgrading the belt made a huge difference to the overall quality of the tool.
First of all, can't fault Bunnings customer service. When I returned the unit I was given a full refund so full marks there.Unfortunately I had to return it because despite changing grit (80 and 120) and brand of belt (Bosc, Flexvit and the OEM belt that came with the sander) the belt always clogged up down one edge after about 10 seconds use. It was always the same edge, the inside one on the same side as the vaccuum port.I also tried repositioning the belt further from or closer to the edge, and set the tracking so the belt didn't move sideways. Nothing worked. I got the same result on the varnished floor as well as a piece of bare timber. The steel baseplate under the belt seemed to have slight scorch marks suggesting the paper was rubbing more on that ... MoreFirst of all, can't fault Bunnings customer service. Shame, because otherwise it seemed like good value for money. It was the last unit in the store so replacement wasn't an option.
Used this over a dozen times, sometimes for over 4 hours straight.Never missed a beat.Incredible for the money. Far lighter, smoother, lighter and more versatile than my mates Makita.Don't listen to the other reviews here, this is a steal!
I bought this expecting it would do a great job, it did for a while but then the belt started slipping. Took it back and was told I had to tension the screw. I had already done that and was told I won’t get money back as that was the problem. It was not. I then bought a cheaper ozito belt sander and it works a treat, so much so I have now sanded the floors in my house with it and had not skipped a second. I did only use that sander on the floors as lockdown has meant rental of floor sanders at Bunnings are not available. Go the $80 version not the $109 version.
Right out the box the rollers were “bumpy” not giving a smooth sand. Ripped belts constantly. Returned for new one. Did exactly the same thing. Threw it in the bin and got a Makita- zero problems since.
