Bought to sand a deck and after minimal use of around an hour the belt stopped spinning and started smoking…. Turned off power and picked it up to find what sounded like broken plastic parts rumbling around. Found it very noisy and slightly aggressive little machine. Took it back and exchanged it for the $109 one. Found the new one to be lighter, less noisier and able to actually fit under my glass panels on the deck and reach tighter places. I used the new one for about 3 hours without issues. Only problem with the new one is the poor dust catching ability.

I bought this a couple of years ago, I used it briefly. I found that the belt would keep slidding off the side. Then it stopped working all together. I pulled it out recently to to see if I could get it going again. It is now headed to the tip. I think I got about 3 hours of sanding out of this at the most, and it was a painful process at that.

i broke the belt, but that is due to unfamiliarity. up until that point it did exactly as i hoped it would

Great belt sander, I used it to sand my 20m2 Merbau deck which had turned grey over time. By using a 40grit sanding belt I was able to totally remove the the grey appearance and restore its natural reddish colour.
Bought this to sand down a very rough hardwood slab of timber. Considering the price, it worked well, only negative is that the dust filter fills quickly and its a bit noisy, but apart from those minor issues, yes go for it. The once (very) rough slab is now smoootthhhh
Wasn't expecting much for the price but this thing turned out to be a bit of a beast. Rips the wood down without trouble. Not too heavy . Goes really well.
Bought to help smooth subfloor high spots before laying Timber over top. She's a hard worker that's for sure! Hours and hours of use with 40 grit paper and not a problem yet. Go for it
I got this belt sander a couple of years ago. I used it on about 5 jobs, relatively intense jobs but I am always careful not to put too much load on any of my electric tools. The front roller completely broke down causing the sandpaper to shift from side to side to the point it is unusable. I will return it to Bunnings and see if they will replace it under warranty.
Light use for around an hour. Blew up in smoke, exchanged only for the same thing to happen, refunded for a ryobi and haven't looked back.
bought it to help remove some mastic, with 40 grid, very dusty
