Be aware of battery performance

Be aware of battery performance and bunnings return policy. Lawn mower stopped working after a year, took it to bunnings, they tested it with new batteries and then tried out our old batteries and it turned on again. The product won’t be replaced after a year unless its faulty with the engine. Battery is covered and can be replaced if its COMPLETELY dead. Meaning even if it turns on, works for 2 mins and you have to recharge it, then battery will not be replaced. This is as advised per Tuggeranong Bunnings store in ACT.Again, just as a FYI before making a purchase decision.

Does the job great if not massively overgrown weed lawn or too large a lawn for this model

Despite this it did a great job and as long as I do it every 4-6 weeks now it will be a breeze each time and I'll have plenty of battery left to spare off a single charge. Charging is reasonably fast at around 2hrs from flat to full. It is narrow than a standard lawnmower thus requiring more passes overall but it's made for a small lawn. If you can't do your whole lawn without the battery running out on regular mowing not weed nightmare conditions - then this mower isn't suited for the size lawn you have. For a small townhouse with small front and back yard it is a lifesaver though compared to whipper-snipping it all previously. Worth every cent not to have a cord, only real complaint would be the handle is slightly too low for me at 6'2" but it performs so quick it's not too much of a problem.

Just gave this thing it’s first run through our thick as buffalo grass and was an absolute pleasure. Ignore the complaints about the catcher assembly, just get someone else to help by aligning the top & bottom then tap the clips in with a rubber mallet or your fist. I was gonna get the ozito snipper as well then the very helpful staff member at Leopold said there was the same snipper with a blower included for the same price. I said ‘sold’. Mower, snipper & blower for a shave under 320 & I can’t be happier. Didn’t need to rtfm for anything. Best Bunnings purchase ever.

Excellent Choice For Small Lawn Area
15 May 2023

Super light and adequately powered mower for a small lawn area, such as a grass verge in suburbia. Also handy for around trees and steep slope edging on larger properties. Super easy to push and carry. Single steel blade is easy to sharpen without needing to replace. Catcher is small but efficient. A brushless motor at this price is unbeatable value, should provide years of service with careful use. Highly recommended for small lawns.

Great little mower!
4 June 2022

For the price I am extremely happy! I've used it a couple of times on my big, uneven, over grown urban yard and it works great. I have to empty the catcher very often, but I expected that because the grass was long and the catcher is small. The battery works well. Mowing for about 2-3 hours used two and a half battery cycles. I don't expect the mower to last forever, being so cheap.. but I'm impressed so far. It is as light as a feather and very easy to push around. It's my first battery powered mower and I'm convinced I'll never go back to a petrol powered mower if I can help it. I think this is my first review ever but I was motivated to write one because I'm genuinely satisfied with the product. Glad I bought it!!

Need better Batteries
20 June 2022

Been using it since early 2020 and continues to operate. It came along with the small battery and it was not sufficient to finish mowing my backyard and bought bigger battery. but even that dries up in spring and summer before i could finish my lawn.It needs a control for battery discharge. so we can control it. because when the lawn has tough bush. it pulls all up the charge from battery and dries up in less than 30 mins.Battery takes more than hour to fully charge.I can finish my lawn with two batteries during autumn and winter. And yes, if the blade can go one more step down would be great.P.S. I live in a duplex so my backyard is way smaller than 100sqm.

Surprisingly good, 12 months on, with a couple of gripes
2 October 2021

Bought a year ago now in a moment of COVID madness (not much has changed has it?) after my shoulder almost dislocated trying to get the petrol mower started, after cleaning the filter, the carb, the spark plug, cleanser in the petrol tank, etc. I have a medium sized amount of lawn, and a nature strip on a 1/4 acre block. Ground is a bit uneven, and various mixtures of grass from almost 100 years of previous lawn efforts by other owners. After the first mow, which I did without recharging, I was hooked - I mean, hooked on the decision never to go back to petrol and oil and servicing and fumes and noise and weight, and persevere with cordless technology, even if there were shortcomings. At the price I paid, I was expecting this device to clag and give up, but it did ... MoreBought a year ago now in a moment of COVID madness (not much has changed has it?) after my shoulder almost dislocated trying to get the petrol mower started, after cleaning the filter, the carb, the spark plug, cleanser in the petrol tank, etc. At the price I paid, I was expecting this device to clag and give up, but it did just as good a job as my petrol mowers, now a distant memory.12 months on - the thing is till cutting great, the battery still good, though I notice the charge while sitting idle is slowly dropping, so I try to ensure I charge just prior to cutting - I've just bought a new battery as I've got three other Ozito PXC products now and the battery is taking a bit of a flogging. Still enjoy being able to pick the nower up and carry it around, and, being so light, I can push faster and get the job done in half the time it used to take, and it takes up only half the space in the shed compared to the petrol mower, and no container of petrol to store and refill either, I should add. I enjoy the lower noise, and most of all I enjoy being able to switch it on and off on a wim. I actually got my 10 year old daughter to do some mowing for me, so that's another "plus" if you've got kids and want them to "chip" in to earn some screen time.Room for improvement -Two key things: 1) The cutting height adjustment - what the ???? arguably the dumbest design I've ever seen. 100 years of mechanical height adjustments in lawn mowers and this thing has a bar UNDER the mower you have to manually move and click into place, with some herculean effort I might add. I didn't realise this until after I bought the mower. It's like getting rid of keyed ignition in a car and reintroducing the crank handle to start the engine, or implementing rotary dialers on smart phones.(2) - lesser gripe: The handle bar. It's just on the edge of comfort for me (5'10"), anyone taller would struggle with back ache as it doesn't extend. Also, it's great to fold the handles in half for storage, but a simple quick release instead of those infernal wing-nuts - it's 21st Century guys. And whenever I do fold the bars, it always manages to catch the cord that's running the on/off switch wires up to the hand control - that could easily wear through if I didn't keep an eye on it.Although it's still holding together without incident, the catcher was a cow to assemble - please Ozito, surely you can do better than that!Summary - some design shortcomings to meet a price - I get that, but I think they went a tad under the spec of what even the most "budget" of budget devices should be". Thankfully, for few more bucks now, Ozito has both these gripes removed in their "up-size" models. The good news: the age of cordless lawnmowers is well and truly here, and I'm a total convert; there is no going back for me - Sadly though, on the weekends I'm still surrounded by the sounds of dozens of rev-heads and their petrol mowers still whirring away - sigh. For this particular model, if you need to do a lot of mowing and a larger lawn coverage, and you may have uneven lawns and having to height adjust frequently, then you should really go up a model or two - there are at least two other PXC mowers you can choose with telescopic handle and on-the-go height adjustment (and a bigger catcher too), and only $100 or so more - I'd recommend checking those out.

TERRIBLE idea with height adjustment! Pay $50 more for the Ryobi!
13 April 2023

Was worth a try, but TERRIBLE idea with height adjustment! You need (STRONG HANDS) to adjust a heavy spring on EACH of the 4 wheels, every time you want to change the height of the cut! NO ONE has EVER made a mower using such a ridiculous method! IF you only ever needed one height, then maybe it'd be ok, as it CAN cut low. I can see this mower being fine for someone with a flat, even area (once someone adjusted the height for them!) Comment on others reviews: ALWAYS fully charge the battery before using the item. Yes; the catcher IS horrendously time-consuming to clip together – Not an issue if you don't want to use one. Yes, it sure does look like a toy mower, and very nasty, flimsy cheap plastic at that. This mower REALLY lets down the Ozito brand, for the main reason above – I ended up returning it for a refund and bought what I hesitated about initially – a Ryobi kit – Do yourself a huge favour, and go that way too – it's very good, and only $50 more for the cheapest one. I am doing a review about it on my youtube channel 'Steve Mack' soon...

Works very well…catcher assembly painful.
24 April 2022

I get my lawns done professionally however the back lawn grows faster than the front and wanted to have a little mower so I could do a quick tidy up of the back whenever required. Just gave it a run now and it did a great tidy up of autumn leaves and the lawn was a little damp but it cut well. It didn’t cut out at all and the handle easy to hold. Was very easy to manoeuvre around trees and I filled the catcher 3 times, all within one charge. The WORST thing about this mower is putting together the catcher…my tip would be to open the box at bunnings or in the carpark and ask the staff there to put it together. I am missing one notch- I couldn’t connect but it all works well without that one. I watched the video on YouTube to put it together, but the catcher very nearly beat me. Ended up using a screwdriver to push in the notches. Took well over half hour.Very happy with my purchase, would have giver 5 stars except for that catcher, it needs to be changed or supplied already assembled.

Worst purchase and experience at Bunnings
12 September 2022

Do NOT buy this mower. The catcher is made of soft plastic, horribly warped in the box and terrible to put together.Blades pulled up my grass instead of cutting it. You need to flip the mower over to change the cutting height by pulling the wheel axles.Catcher is finicky to place and the large holes let some grass through.First Bunnings would not accept a return/exchange/refund at all. Second Bunnings was wonderful and helpful. Not suitable for any yard of any size, or any person at all. Not faulty according to Bunnings staff, just a bad product.
