Excellent value for money. Some people say you get what you pay for, but this lawn mower is the exception to the rule. It did a fantastic job on my cooch and my buffalo lawns compared to my rotary mower. Cut my front and rear lawns and still had power left in the battery. Much lighter than my rotary mower and is quite. I won't be going back to petrol mowers.Other buyers must also think it's a gem because every Bunnings store in Perth has sold out at time of writing this review.

I have a relatively small lawn which makes this mower ideal for my needs. The cylinder cut is much superior to the cut achieved with my previous Ozito cordless rotary mower. Further, being battery powered gives the advantage of greater environmental appeal and convenience than petrol-powered cylinder models. One minor design shortcoming of the mower is the light plastic roller, when a heavier metal roller would be preferred. With the dense lawn that I have it is difficult to cut the lawn as low as I would like, a heavier roller would definitely help in this regard. Even if not included in the basic model, perhaps an alternative heavier metal roller could be added as an option in future models. This would definitely enhance what is already a great little mower.

I picked up a rusty patio bolt on my trial run, safety cutout works. Back to mowing with a slight click, definitely a resilient machine! It also cuts longer grass/weeds that my Scott Bonnar would simply flatten.Battery endurance not an issue, I did 2 x front, 2 x rear lawns and knocked 1/3 leds off the battery indicator.Starts first time every time, light, clean, quiet and a real reel cut - get on!

This is a mower for established lawns and not for lawns that have any kind of surface material like twigs, bark or small rocks. Its 100% for lawns only. Not paddocks, or lawns that resemble a paddock.Because I can find that it may be several days between mows, especially if it rains for a week, I use the rotary to cut the long grass to size and use the cylinder for finishing. And what a great finish it leaves! Just a fine cut finish, that's clean and flat. You'll smile every time you look at it. I use the highest setting as I like a thick grass mat for the grandkids.Adjusting the cutting edge is a little fiddly, but with a little patience can be sorted using the Ozito video on Youtube.
Frustrated by the cost of sharpening my hand cylinder mower and unable to do it myself, I went into Bunnings to price a replacement and found that, (1) the cost had gone up considerably since I bought my last one and (2) for $20 more I could buy the Ozito, This is the first time I had seen a cordless cylinder mower. I have a range of Ozito power tools which meant I already had batteries and chargers. I chose Ozito because I have arthritis in my hands and their battery was the easiest to remove. For a home workshop, they are great; plus, when they say "replacement" warranty, they mean it.Assembly was a bit of a fiddle but straightforward. The mower did a great job and there was enough capacity in a 2.0 Ah battery to do three cuts. As a bonus, my wife found it easy ... MoreFrustrated by the cost of sharpening my hand cylinder mower and unable to do it myself, I went into Bunnings to price a replacement and found that, (1) the cost had gone up considerably since I bought my last one and (2) for $20 more I could buy the Ozito, This is the first time I had seen a cordless cylinder mower. The mower did a great job and there was enough capacity in a 2.0 Ah battery to do three cuts. As a bonus, my wife found it easy to use and, in fact, was quite keen to use it.The only negative is the grass catcher and, as is typical with many products, is not designed for an older user. The catcher attaches by pressing a plastic hook at each end over a bar. This requires (1) bending over and (2) exerting significant force, not easy to do with arthritic fingers. Detaching it also requires significant force and you have to be careful not to spill the grass clippings. The support strap and catch is also awkward to use. (The catcher on my old hand mower was a simple hook.)There is no adjustment on the handle position and, at 6 foot, I found it too low for comfort -- fortunately we have a relatively small lawn; plus it's an ideal height for my wife so it's not all bad news. The low handle means it's awkward to store. So that it takes up less room on the floor, I have to tip it up and wedge something under the wheels to stop it rolling forward. I think the better solution will be to install some hooks when I work out where its permanent home will be.It handles our kikuyu lawn very well on the lowest setting; however, it was too low for our Santa Anna couch lawn and I will just have to change the setting for each lawn.Overall, we're pretty happy with it. With a bit of thought, the Ozito designers could have made it much easier for older users.
I purchased one of these mowers about two months ago and although a bit wary at first, have not regretted it. It is light and easy to move around and cuts the thicker Sir Walter grass with ease. The finish left, is as good as any other reel mower I have owned. With the reel being at the front you can get right up to brickwork with only a narrow border to trim afterwards.Only thing I find a bit weak is the catcher. It is a bit flimsy, but having said that, it has done the job.
If I could give 0 stars I would, this mower is absolute rubbish, I have a great Victa petrol mower but the wife won't use it as she doesn't like the pull start. I did some research on cylinder mowers and what a great low cut they give without the need to scalp. This mower does not go low enough and all it seemed to do was flatten the grass and it just popped up again after. The catcher is pointless, it all bundles up at the front of the catcher and you have to keep stopping and shoving it to the back. Its only the fact that it has a blade of sorts otherwise it would be a great childs toy. Straight back in the box and back to Bunnings!
This mower really doesn’t work well on broad leaf lawns and particularly doesn’t work on wet lawns or if stems/twigs from trees such as jacaranda trees. It stops continually and I have to clear the blades to get it going again. It takes me about 4 times as long to mow the lawn as my previous ozito electric mower - which wasn’t a roller mower. Today was the limit. I’ll go back to buy a mower similar to the one I had. Way too frustrating as no time consuming. The pluses were the battery - it definitely lasts the whole mow. It is light. I found it relatively easy to put together. I think the instructions could have more detail to help, especially for those not hugely good at putting ‘stuff’ together. Diagrams could be clearer as well.Possibly good for cooch lawn.
I have two other Ozito battery rotary mowers which have been the best mowers I have ever used.I bought this one after watching videos about cylinder mowers how they cut and give the lawn that manicured look. The cut is better than rotary mowers it just takes several mows before you see the real difference.A learning curve dealing with height settings and blade adjustment was needed for me, I found the higher settings gave a better result, I did mow a rough patch out the back on the lowest setting "NOT good at all".Be sure there are no rocks as they can make the cylinder blades bur and jam > no fun with a file.I use this mower to keep the lawn in check, the cut is flat and super clean.I used the catcher once and found it's not needed when a "skim" mow is ... MoreI have two other Ozito battery rotary mowers which have been the best mowers I have ever used.I bought this one after watching videos about cylinder mowers how they cut and give the lawn that manicured look. The cut is better than rotary mowers it just takes several mows before you see the real difference.A learning curve dealing with height settings and blade adjustment was needed for me, I found the higher settings gave a better result, I did mow a rough patch out the back on the lowest setting "NOT good at all".Be sure there are no rocks as they can make the cylinder blades bur and jam > no fun with a file.I use this mower to keep the lawn in check, the cut is flat and super clean.I used the catcher once and found it's not needed when a "skim" mow is called for.I like that the height can be offset on either side if you have thick grass or inclines close to pathways it can mow them well.I had no dramas assembling it as some giving reviews had.I am thinking that perhaps they inserted the handle pins from the inside out rather than outside in ( look for the square hole).Great product.
I have now had this for a month and done at least 5 mow's. I have the new 2021 model which was really easy to assemble. Previous reviews talk of complications with split pins, but my model didnt have them nor the issues. Alignment of the blade was easy and a good video on how to do it in any case. I have a tall fescue grass and previously cut it on the highest setting of a tradition type lawn mover, so I was a bit concerned how it would go with a much shorter cut. Thankfully no drama's, although it does look a little different - MCG vs Lawn bowls :-). It comes with a catcher but if you cut it regularly, I have found you don't need it, which is even more practical to use for me. Only down side is it used to be south of $150 but recently went up to $170, but I guess you can pay as much for a cylinder mower without a motor. Also I was surprised at how heavey it was. It comes in around 10Kg, which for now is easy enough to pick up and move around.
