I never bother reviewing stuff. I'm old and I'm grumpy. I reviewed the ozito 36v chain saw a year or so ago just because it was so freaking good to stay silent. I live rural in nt, tropical bush/jungle block. As i reviewed 12 months ago, i cannot fault this thing. Clearing fire brakes on 5 acres for the Dry season is hard work on me and the tools. The 2 stroke saw got its first work recently since i bought the ozito, big dry, hard dead trees to drop. Went well until it overheated. Then, back to the trusty ozito 36v. I have 4 5Ah batteries, regularly dress the chain....full days work dropping 30 - 60cm diameter trees, then slicing into small chunks...im 64, with a false right elbow so need many many cuts to make small logs. This saw is less than half the weight of the 2 stroke, way safer due to the instant on/ instant off, easier on my arm cos i don't have to pull the stupid starter 58 times, less stressful to use due to light weight. I love 2 strokes but the ozito 36v chainsaw is so far out in front in terms of value, power, reliability (14 months of hard work later, no problems or wear) there really is no choice. Clean it properly after use, keep the chain sharp, simply no complaints or faults in 14 months of fairly hard use.

This unit is a great light weight and cheap chain saw for all those medium to medium high duty jobs. Sure, other BLOKES, are going to swing their chainsaw bars around in "The biggest bar competition" that no one signed up to compete in. Enjoy. Two 4 ohm batteries last me about an hour of solid cutting. I suggest getting four, one set for charging, one set for gunning.

Charged up the batteries, took it out of the box and away I went. Chopped down a massive feijoa tree along with the Ozito pole pruner. Batteries lasted nearly all day, just had to give them a short charge to finish off. Bought it on the recommendation of one of the guys at Bunnings because I wanted to get an early start and not annoy the neighbours and I'm glad I took his advice. Got the skin plus charger and 2x batteries deal. Took the Stihl petrol chainsaw as well but never took it out of the car. Totally impressed. Bought a few Ozito 18V tools now and impressed with them all. I usually get online and check reviews before I buy tools but didn't have time with this chainsaw so making the effort to write this review. I will stick a couple of pictures on as well.

Does the job
22 December 2021

Bought it Saturday and charged up the batteries, not included but purchased 4 x 4.0ah, went woodhooking Sunday and was very impressed with the performance. I had been dubious because of brand and pricing, fearing the adage you get what you pay for would bite me. I can confidently say this saw gives great value for the price, cut through good sized fallen timber with ease and in just a few hours I had cut, split and stacked enough wood to recoup half my outlay and will return next Sunday to get more. In short, I recommend this chainsaw.UPDATE: Well it's been 2 years now and there have been many Sundays since and this saw just keeps delivering the goods, I've cut many loads of firewood and used it for other jobs too, I have no regrets at all in buying this chainsaw. ... MoreBought it Saturday and charged up the batteries, not included but purchased 4 x 4.0ah, went woodhooking Sunday and was very impressed with the performance. Still have the original 4x4.0ah batteries going strong and 2x5.2ah batteries as well. Recently purchased 3 new chains online for next to nothing and still highly recommend this chainsaw.

Excellent little thing
11 March 2023

I bought one of these three months ago and it's honestly one of the best purchases I've made.It stands up well next to my brother's battery powered Stihl but his battery lasts a lot longer, so I just bring spare batteries and swap then out. Honestly after going through 4 × 4ah I'm pretty ready to take a break anyway. This thing is way better than I expected for the money. Even with 2 sets of batteries it was cheaper than the name brand versions by hundreds. It's not for big stuff but within its capacity it's beaut.

First impressions.
25 July 2022

I purchased this tool from bunnings, along with 4x4ah batteries. I have several petrol saws ranging in size from 45cc to 72cc. The cutting speed of this electric saw lies somewhere in between. It has torque to spare, and battery life is excellent. Most of what I cut is hardwood from about 200mm down to 30mm kindling for our wood heater. With 2 batteries I can nearly fill my 5x3 box trailer, stacked about 40cm deep. Once the batteries drain down I put fresh ones in, which fills the trailer right up, with 2 bars to spare on the second batteries. The toolless chain adjustment is great, way quicker than my petrol saws. The auto oiling works well, and the chain holds it's edge well, only needing a touch up with a file every 2 or 3 trailer loads. Good Chainsaw
25 March 2023

Tough little thing. Using it to chop down a lot of trees on 2 acres, trees are about 10m foot tall and 20cm wide and has cut down 5 trees pretty good. But might look at swapping the chain soon. It's definitely no petrol chain saw, but I think that's why I like it. Much quieter, easier to handle, starts up right away, and don't have to deal with petrol. If you're not in a hurry, then this will do the job. I also switch between 4ah and 2ah batteries, works fine.

Good value for money
27 March 2023

My first battery operated chainsaw and I think it's pretty good value for money. It's not as fast as a petrol chainsaw, but the rpm's are better than the single 18v battery chainsaw alternative. It cuts a decent amount of wood with the two batteries attached but I have a couple extra just in case. It's cleaner than a petrol chainsaw and quieter but I'd still recommend wearing ear protection.

Great saw, exceeded expectations
19 May 2023

For the money this saw is great. I've taken down a dead ironbark and messmate. I have a petrol sthil which I also used when dealing with the ironbark and whilst the sthil has more power the electric ozito did the job just fine. I didn't bother taking the sthil out of the case for the messmate. Both trees were medium sized witht he iron bark being a bit bigger, trees were 8-12m in height and the ozito did it without worries.

Ripper tool - I dont bother trying to start the 2 stroke saw anymore.
26 December 2021

Bought the 2 x 18V saw as I already have 18V batteries and chargers but wanted 36V power.cannot believe how good this saw is - i live on 5 acres of tropical jungle so it gets plenty of work. Light to use, quiet and the chain stops way faster than the 2 stroke saw so safer to use. Bought it for small pruning jobs but now I use it for dropping and chopping big trees as well - handles it very well. - due to light weight and no fuel to leak out Ill be taking this on outback 4wd camping trips as well - perfect for clearing trails or getting firewood.
