Paco Rabanne Invictus Parfum, 100 ml

I received this item for free from Influenster in exchange for my honest review. This now I believe my third Paco Rabanne fragrance I’ve received from Influenster and I have to say of the three it’s probably my favourite. But having said that it’s not without its flaws. Right off the top; it’s another very sweet, floral scent. I tend not to be a fan of overly sweet scents, though as mentioned this one I do like this one more than the previous scents from this company. Once that sweetness and floral starts to dissipate and it settles down, it’s a much more subtle refreshing scent. Compared to the other scents from this company (and other companies that I’ve also received from Influenster over the years) this has to be probably the shortest lasting scent I’ve tried. For some, this could be seen as a positive thing: you can apply this for during the day and put on something different for the evening, but if you’re looking for something that will last you all day this is not it. So definitely a mixed bag. I *really* like the bottle, and as mentioned compared to other scents from PR I do like this one the most, but admittedly it feels pretty same-y to the others, but lacks the sheer lasting power those others had.

Invictus Parfum by Paco Rabanne is an aquatic aromatic-sweet fresh fragrance. They brought back the OG DNA on this one, it does remind me of the original or Invictus Legend, but it seems they tried to mature it a bit, with the pepper, soapy and cashmere/leather at the base. The opening is very fresh with the aquatic and lavander note being very prominent (and here is where the classic Invictus DNA is more noticeable). The heart notes start coming soon especially the violet leaf note which I enjoyed and plays nicely with the lavender, and I don't know why I get a coconuty note from that. The myrtle note is interesting but not prominent to me. I would say this would be best for a younger guy to use during spring and summer.

Despite the interesting name and bottles, the Invictus line of fragrances seems to be a hit or miss for the brand. Based off of what many other reviews have said, the 2024 Invictus Parfum is definitely a questionable release. The lavender, black soap, and sandalwood are all blended in with the signature marine/aquatic notes that very much ties this to the fresher versions in the line, as opposed to the darker, warmer, and frankly more interesting Invictus Victory flankers, from recent years.This parfum iteration smells like a grown up, yet still modern version of the original. The sweetness is definitely toned down, the aromatic notes turned up, and the black soap and sandalwood add a bit of depth to the overall freshness. Especially from a brand like Paco Rabanne, this seems like they took one step forward but two steps back. After some of the last incredible Invictus releases, like Victory and Victory Elixir, they played it a little too safe with this Parfum, which will inevitably fade into the sea of fresh/“blue” fragrances, rather than stand out. Even though it’s not amazing or unique, there’s also nothing to really dislike about the scent itself, other than the fact that it smells more like a really expensive soap, rather than a designer parfum. Again, one the major challenges will be justifying the price for a fragrance that simply smells okay. As always I recommend trying before buying because I can honestly say I would not purchase this at retail price.

Invictus Parfum dials back the sweetness a lot. It's the least sweet Invictus fragrance ever made. The soapiness also makes this a much more balanced fragrance. They literally perfected the Invictus DNA with Invictus Parfum and made it more versatile and appropriate for adults. Invictus Victory, Victory Elixir and Platinum are kind of their own thing, but within the core DNA Invictus fragrances like OG/Aqua/Legend, Invictus Parfum is by far the best scent.The performance is really long lasting with a moderate projection and sillage. Even though the projection is moderate, it stays that way for hours and doesn't dial back to a skin scent until around 8 hours. The soapy note is amazingly done. Then comes a bit of spice and aquatic/marine notes that are just so unique and stand out. The dry down of the fragrance gives a bit of a matured essence that I like as someone who is not I college anymore. The dry down gives whiffs of a bit of musk and sandalwood which is good, slightly sweet and lasts long. The sillage and projection are amazing, got me a few complements from my friends too. The longevity is good too, could be a bit better but I'm not complaining.This is got to be the best Invictus release ever since the OG Invictus, I'm super happy with the perfume and would cherish this all year. Got to be the best fragrance release of the year.

Great, but similar to something else...

I was incentivized with this item by to give my fair and honest opinion...Going into this one I kind of knew what to expect, having tried the EDT, EDP and Invictus Victory. All of which are similar and great performers. In typical Parfum fashion this one is a little more straight forward and more in-your-face, but not in a bad way by any means. I do find myself enjoying the Invictus line, but I've never gone as far as making a purchase of a full-size bottle. Reason is, it's nothing groundbreaking. They all smell great, but I personally find them to be similar to another fragrance I already do own, but it wasn't until I tried this Parfum that I made the connection. Invictus Parfum is a wonderful fragrance, but owning something (in my mind) that I find to be similar and also the fact that I'm currently favoring more niche brands that could potentially be hindering my opinion a smidgen, I have to give this a 4 out of 5. Still a solid performer that you can expect 6+ hours of projection. It won't be a buy, but I'll gladly wear this sample out.

Overly sweet bubble gum cough syrup & cheap body wash

So I am not a fan of Invictus. And not a fan of this. Now if you like Invictus, you will like this.I would give this a 2 for my own personal preference. This is an overly sickening sweet scent mixed with soapy notes. Easiest way I would say it smells like a fake cheap male body wash ala axe body wash. Mix that with straight artificial bubble gum. Has a little bit of musk that is trying to bring some masculinity. I assume it is the sandalwood, but honestly smells like cheap ambroxin. Cheap as in smells like cheap synthetic BO smell. Aka I like nothing about this. I want to scrub this off my wrists.Now I will be giving this a 2 as the sprayer sucks, the juice I think smells like a fake juvenile synthetic mess. Not mixed well. [Rewarded Review] Solid Dark Marine Soapy Scent

Wow this was a very pleasant surprise release from Paco Rabanne! While there is still some similar nuances to previous Invictus flankers, Aqua coming to mind, this one can proudly stand on its own! On first spray you get a slaty marine blast with hints lavender. Smoothing out the scent and giving it an aromatic smell. As the top fades, you slowly start to get this dark soapiness to the scent profile along with a fresh dose of violet leaf. To me violet leaf adds a fresh ozonic smell to fragrances, almost dewy in a way. On my skin it mainly stays as a very soapy marine fragrance with a clean musky dry down towards the end of the fragrance. This fragrance is clean, leaning shower gel esque but with a marine take. Unique? Eh not at all but I'm glad that they didn't go with another bubblegum obnoxious scent profile. It's still in hear all the way in the back, but it's more tame!As for performance, I got a solid 7-8 hours with around 2 hours of projection. I mowed my lawn and was outside all day testing this and it stayed on. Very long lasting and for it to be a sample, that's awesome! Do I recommend it? Yes if you're looking for a clean everyday scent but if you want something unique...then no. Overall a very solid release from this brand!
