Only been using this backpack corded vacuum cleaner for a few weeks now but it seems very sturdy and does the job great for my uses which is cleaning a small office twice weekly but I can see this being very useful for any dry vacuum applications be it cleaning a large school or large building.Very light and the handle is plastic but the tube is metal very good for long uses gentle on the hands.Only gripe is it is very loud but that is only because the suction motor is very strong so might not be good to use when other people are around.

great vaccy but the pole needs to be metal there is too much flex in the plastic especially when vaccuuming thick carpet. what would have been a pleasure to use become difficult on one shoulder trying to correct the direction the vaccuum head due to the pole flexing. if it had a metal pole would be 5 stars
