Good value but the instruction manual is a little complicated. The quick cook option is pretty useless as even white rice takes a lot of water and time to cook properly. Once you figure out the little intricacies through trial & error its pretty good.

Pros: Have only tried with white rice. It does take a little longer to cook than my old machine but so far the rice is not being burnt on the bottom which used to be a real gripe for me. I don’t really have an issue with cleaning like the others have said. At the moment I am only cooking small batches of rice. I still have yet to test doing the more than 5 cups. Cons: My husband is not a fan of the design. It reminds him of those nappy bins.

I read the reviews about this product and did have some hesitations however I followed my gut and made the purchase and I am so glad I did!!!Yes brown rice and wild rice can take 2 hours to cook. But the rice is always cooked to perfection and if you add a little more water, the warming function keeps it moist and ready to eat. This is a welcome addition to our kitchen. It looks great on the bench, is compact, lightweight and so easy to clean as the rice never burns.Do yourself a favour and buy this!

Have had this rice cooker for a few weeks now and it is very easy to use and cooks the perfect rice every time. Tried a couple of different varieties of rice (short grain, long gran and basmati) and it does a great job cooking the rice and keeping it warm. The bowl inside is non stick and easy to clean. The power cord is very short - would have been 5 stars otherwise. It has a IEC socket, so you can buy a longer cable if this is a real issue. Emits quite a bit of steam while cooking, so be prepared to have the range hood turned on at low speed and the rice cooker placed near it.
I have been using this rice cooker for ten years, still running very well. It does not only cook the rice prefectly, but also cook the meat eg pork, beef with the rice mode.It is so easy to use, easy to clean! I will get the second one.
I was a little hesitant at purchasing this rice cooker, but I am now happy with it. We like our rice soft and not al dente and it can do this if you had a little more water than what the instruction book (which isn't that clear) states. It seems to cook the rice by absorbing all the water you add, so more water equals longer cooking time and softer rice. I like the idea of being able to cook rice at the bottom and steam something on the top and also the fact that it does more than just cook rice. I am yet to try the soup cooking function, but I look forward to that. I need to also learn how if you can add vegetables after it has started steaming because I added my brocolli in with the carrots and the brocolli is way too soft. I wish the instruction manual was ... MoreI was a little hesitant at purchasing this rice cooker, but I am now happy with it. It will be a device that I'll need to experiment with to get the most from it.
I was hesitant to buy this as it is on the higher price end for rice cookers. But I am so glad I bought it. It cooks perfectly, so easy to clean and it can hold so much rice. I have done sushi rice, brown rice and white rice and they have all come out perfectly. I agree with previous reviews; if you dont have the 2 or so hours to wait for the brown rice to cook on the function button, the quick cook function still gets good results.
I received this Rice Cooker from Panasonic and have to say I'm not disappointed! My family are big fans of rice, so I've been using it about 2 or 3 times per week. Best thing about it? Convenience! The cup and water fill lines allow me to get that perfect balance of rice to water ratio right every time, meaning I can throw everything in, switch it on and then focus my attention on cooking the rest of my meal! It's really that simple! The keep warm function keeps it hot and fresh. It's easy to clean, pack up and store. Room for improvement? If I wanted to be really critical I'd say it's a little on the slow side (don't wait until the last minute to pop your rice on). It would also be good if it let out a little beep or even flashed to alert you when your rice is ... MoreI received this Rice Cooker from Panasonic and have to say I'm not disappointed! All in all a nifty little appliance that we'll absolutely continue to use, I don't know why we didn't get one sooner!
I was very pleased to recieve this rice cooker from Panasonic as a prize in a competition. Firstly, I was impressed with the range of functions available and the ease of use, especially the large buttons. My 10yo daughter makes chocolate cakes in it without needing much assistance from me- I don't have to worry about her using a hot oven so only assist when it's time to get the cake out. The result is a moist, fluffy chocolate cake which rises evenly. It steams rice to an excellent consistency and the 4 hour keep warm function is useful when multi- tasking in the kitchen and planning meals ahead of time. It also enables you to be creative with its technological capability. I use it to cook one-pot meals and casseroles, the main benefit being that it cooks faster ... MoreI was very pleased to recieve this rice cooker from Panasonic as a prize in a competition. I use it to cook one-pot meals and casseroles, the main benefit being that it cooks faster than a slow cooker without the hassle of having to wash up a big ceramic dish. The non-stick pan is extremely easy to clean and the unit is fully enclosed so there's no mess associated with food splatter during cooking. It has become a permanent fixture on my kitchen bench and I look forward to discovering new ways I can cook with it.
Love this product, even bought one for a relative. Works really well, super easy selections and options. The only downfall is the water sits in the inside lip which is odd but other than that it's great
