Flatbed is great, as it is easy to clean and effectively larger due to the absence of the spinning plate. The microwave looks good and feels premium. It is a little loud, but hey, it's a microwave! The microwave sits considerably higher than my previous machine and most other microwaves I looked at. I personally prefer this, as it is easier to clean the kitchen surface, but it is something to consider for smaller spaces.There is a cooling function that kicks in after cooking, on occasion. This can be a bit annoying, as you have no idea when it will stop. Something for the next version - a countdown during the cooling cycle!

This really is a fantastic microwave, I'm so surprised at how good and even the heating is. I really was not expecting that much difference from a normal microwave. I love the fact that it doesn't have a turntable that you have to mess around trying to pull out and clean and it still heats even all the way through and much quicker than a normal microwave. I was super excited about this product, but it wasn't until I started using it that I regretted the purchase. I can't use the microwave to heat two meals. The Cool function always stops the process. I've already waited more than 10 minutes between one use and another, and the problem persists. I make sure to place the microwave where the sides have room, but that didn't help. The microwave overheats quickly and takes a long time to cool down. Do not buy it.

This is a great basic microwave with lots of space. Firstly, the flatbed setup is incredible. This microwave is no bigger on the outside than our old turntable one. However now I can fit casserole dishes in that never could have turned on a turntable microwave. It also seems very functional, no problems so far. This is probably not the microwave for you if you want lots of sensor cook options. It has some pre set cooking times, but no sensors.
How fantastic it is not to have to deal with a turntable anymore! I have cooked rice, potatoes and vegetables with great success. I've even made a cake in it although browning is not what you achieve in a normal oven but boy was it quick. I've even made a cup of tea in it.It would be nice if the light inside was a little brighter so I could watch the cooking more closely but this gadget has too many advantages to let that stop you buying one. It is important to wipe the microwave out so it dries properly after cooking. The inverter mechanism is worth the extra money because the heating is more even and boil overs are rare. Fantastic job Panasonic. Love it.
Wish I had not bought it but thought the Panasonic brand would still be good. Heats poorly and unevenly. Controls are cumbersome and performance is poor compared to our PreviousOne. The tiny led light inside does not light well at all. Wish the sales person could tell me all this when I asked for advice but ultimately you will be disappointed with this product and now I am stuck with it due to being a poor design and receiving poor Sales advice at the store.
Problem with this microwave: 1. Does not heat evenly and takes longer to heat food. 2. Annoying cooling time after every heating. Sometimes cooling time is longer than heating the food. Such a waste of time and defeats the purpose of quick heating. 3. Can't add additional time after you started heating food. 4. No quick start button to heat. You need to input time everytime before you can start this microwave. 5. Poor quality. Not even a year, the microwave door needs to be slammed hard for it to start.
I urgently needed a new microwave and the Samsung model I was keen on wasn't in stock, so i ended up purchasing this one. I have been so disappointed with it. It doesn't heat the food evenly, in places it is too hot and in other places it is still frozen. Microwave popcorn is a nightmare, sometimes it doesn't pop at all, other times it burns on the same amount of time. It has a really annoying COOL function that you need to wait for it to complete before you can proceed, which is not helpful when you want to check on the temperature of your food. I have been meaning to take it back. Would not recommend.
The flatbed is a great invention and easy to use, clean and fit the pesky square containers. Would have loved to have a quick start option like most other microwave ovens offer. Suggest Panasonic have a look at that for future models. The look is good and the unit is very quiet compared to the last one we had. The display is simple (which is good) but need an intensity adjustment, as it is very dull when in high intensity lighting areas, such as the kitchen during the morning.
I cant wait to dump this one in the bin, heats so unevenly you would be better leaving your food in the sun to warm it. If I give a regular meal 4 mins, The plate will be roasting, the chicken and potatoes will be cold, any liquid will be boiling, its a lucky dip of what gets heated. All microwaves do this to some extent, this microwave is extreme making it entirely useless. I will get a turning plate microwave for my replacement for the same reason that wheels are round, a turning plate works so if its harder to clean thats worth it.
