Panasonic 45-150mm Lumix G Vario Lens
High quality Panasonic optics Compatible with selected Micro Four Thirds system products Launched by Panasonic in 2008, the Digital Single Lens Mirrorless camera (more commonly 'CSC') has revolutionised the world of creative photography. Mirrorless cameras combine compact ease of use with outstanding technical and control. The biggest difference between mirrorless and professional DSLR cameras is that they do not use a mirrorbox or pentaprism, as a consequence do not use an optical viewfinder. This enables DSLM cameras to have smaller camera bodies and more compact lenses. Instead of an optical viewfinder, a high resolution electronic viewfinder can be used which takes a live feed directly from the CSC camera sensor itself.

I really like this lens and have used it a lot. The build quality is also good, and gives a lot of confidence. Its possible to take sharp photos at maximum aperture at all focal lengths. Its easy to carry. The controls are smoothly engineered. The only small issue I have in use with my GX80 camera is that the dual IS (where the IS systems of the lens and camera work in tandem for extra effect) results in the image shifting unless the camera is held very steady. This means I get a sharp image which doesnt quite have the same framing as Ive chosen. With my other cameras that dont have in-body IS, this doesnt happen.

I've had this lense (mark 1) about 8 years, updating the firmware to get dual IS with my GX9. It is consistently excellent, partly because it is highly optically corrected rather than just software corrected. It is lightweight, fast and sharp with quite good close-up powers. It is also makes for a decent occasional portrait lense despite the relatively slow maximum aperture. I've found best results for general use at f6.3 and f7.1 although it performs well wide open. One of Panasonic's sleeper lenses, at a remarkably low price.

Bought a Lumix DMC GX80 and was a little disappointed with the lens it came with. Purchased this lens and havn't looked back. Brilliant all rounder purchased at a great price from a fantastic company. Will definately buy here again

Bought the lens to go with our Lumix camera. It does everything it should and I am very pleased with it. I am not a camera buff, so not the right person to wax lyrical about the finer technicalities, but the service from John Lewis (and the fact that they give a 2 years warranty unlike the 12 month warranty that other suppliers provide) was excellent. As is the collect plus service to collect locally, which I shall certainly use again now that I have discovered it.
This is a great camera lens - at a good price. It is better for image quality than the common 45-200mm lens. It is cheaper than the 45-175mm lens - which is also no better quality.Delivery was quick.I would certainly buy this again at the price that I paid.
The 45-150mm is the logical "next buy" after your kit lens for a M4/3 camera. This takes off where the kit lens reaches - 42mm/45mm and extends up to 150mm. Few of us need more than 300mm full-frame equivalent that this gives with M4/3 cameras. The weight and size advantage of the 45-150mm over the 45-200mm Lumix lens is significant - making it a great choice to fit into a small camera bag. It also shares the 52mm filter thread of the 14-42mm mark II - meaning you need only one size of lens filters. The tests show that rosolution is at optimum even at the widest aperture and is never less than "good" over the whole range. The AF is quick and accurate. The OIS is worth 3 stops for me. The fast F2.8 zoom lens versions have penalties as alternatives [1] they are much bigger and heavier [2] they cost a lot more [3] for 95% of your shots the extra stop of aperture is not worth it. I am certainly impressed. I also have the 35-100mm, which is great if space really is at a premium, but find myself using this 45-150mm more and more in its place. Don't forget to use the lens hoods - mirrorless cameras are prone to internal reflactions without them.
Great image quality and beautifully stabilised even at the 300mm end (24mm equiv.)Lovely action on the focus and zoom rings too.Amazing addition to this beginner's kit.
I bought this lens for infrequent, longer focal length photography. I usually photograph portraits and so don't need a lens this long, but it is a useful addition.I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the product. There is nothing to grumble about, particularly considering the price. It focuses quickly, silently and accurately and the Mega OIS is excellent. My only grumble is that it doesn't come with a lens pouch so I use an old Nikon pouch that I had.All in all this is well worth the money. the lack of pouch caused the downgrade from 5 to 4 stars.
I bought a 45-200mm for my Lumix GF3, thinking I would benefit from the extra 50mm (100mm) at the top end - but was disappointed by the weight, which means I'm holding a lens, with a camera on the back! So, I bought this 45-150mm to go on my super-new Lumix GM1, and I couldn't be more ecstatic. This is a cracking lens, it's lightweight, flexible, and perfectly balanced with the GM1. Not that I dislike the standard 12-32mm lens, but may have to get a second body, so I'm not swapping lenses the whole time. Only shortcoming is close-up focusing, but now have 45mm Leica Macro to make up for this. Couldn't be happier with entire kit!
I bought this lens to supplement the 14-42 EZ zoom that came as a kit with my Olympus OMD-EM10. The lens is very well made and is a great little compact providing a full-frame equivalent zoom of 90-300mm. One extra feature that I didn't expect to receive was that the in-built optical stabilisation works on my Olympus camera body so long as I disable the camera body's sensor-based image stabilisation. This is great for taking movies as it saves a lot of power and means the battery lasts longer
