These are by far the best rechargeable batteries I have ever owned. Do yourself a favor and do NOT order the cheap batteries, I have tried a couple of so called bargain brands" and they were all junk. I am a video gamer and use wireless controllers, I put a lot of time in on them. the bargain brands would only last about 4 hours on a full charge, these last easily 4 to 5 times longer. I paid about $10 for 4 batteries, was so happy with them I bought 4 more in AA size. You do not need a special charger, any battery charger will work as long as the size matches up. They only take a couple of hours to charge (also come per-charged from the factory). I always keep an extra set ready to go so I can swap them when needed. Never gonna buy "regular" batteries again!

After more than 8 years the (other brand) rechargeable NiMH batteries that I had been using in my flash needed replaced. I decided to replace the batteries and charger with Panasonic Eneloop batteries and Quick Charger. The Eneloop batteries had good reviews and I really liked that the Panasonic Quick Charger (BQ-CC55) allowed for quick individual smart charging of one to four AA or AAA batteries in any combination. (My old charger required matching batteries in pairs and required 5 hours to charge.) The new Eneloop batteries are performing well in my speedlites with quick initial start up at 3 seconds and fast recycling.

I've been using these batteries for years and have found them to be exceptional. I especially like the way they keep a full charge for so long after charging. I buy them from B&H Photo to avoid counterfeits. Once I bought some from Amazon only to discover that they were not actually made in Japan, but were Chinese knock offs.
These are the latest 2100 cycle Panasonic Eneloop rechargeable batteries which are 1.2V. If 1.2V have enough juice to power your equipment then get as many of these as you can. AAA and AA Alkaline batteries are 1.5V for example, but you need to buy lots of them and end up throwing them out when they run out of power. Panasonic acquired Sanyo so no worries, these are the genuine thing. I've just started using them, and hopefully they will last as long as the AA eneloops I bought 4 years ago which are still going strong. If so, then I'll give these five stars. Most reviewers love these batteries, so I'm not too worried. Don't confuse this with the Panasonic Eneloop Pro which has slightly more Mah but can only be recharged 500 times which might work better for ... MoreThese are the latest 2100 cycle Panasonic Eneloop rechargeable batteries which are 1.2V. Most reviewers love these batteries, so I'm not too worried. Don't confuse this with the Panasonic Eneloop Pro which has slightly more Mah but can only be recharged 500 times which might work better for different uses than these. I'm using these eneloops in my chord-less Panasonic phone system and they work flawlessly. I do wish B&H sold the Panasonic Eneloop Pro charger without the AA Eneloop Pro batteries which can charge one battery at a time and does a slow charge (7 hours), so that the batteries are properly charged. AAA rechargeable batteries may not be properly charged in quick chargers that expect two 1000 Mah batteries. There are no AAA 1000 Mah rechargeable Enleloops, only AA eneloops have this capacity.
These are one of the few battery brands still made in Japan that has always been known for quality batteries. They actually show a higher mAh rating than shown on the package. All 4 of mine show 840-855 mAh when charged on my OPUS BT-C2400 charger. Great charger also.
Just put them in my phones a few days ago hoping that they will last a very long time. So naturally I won't know if they did - for a very long time. So far so good. They're fine. They worked perfectly as expected. Normally just working perfectly upon arrival wouldn't inspire a 5-star recommendation, but keep in mind that I recently ordered a bunch of NiMH batteries for the same purpose with the same expectation, but I was disappointed. None of them would hold a charge which caused me lot of problems. So I have to say that compared to that, working perfectly right out of the box with zero problems really does deserve a great recommendation.
Sometimes you get MORE than you pay for, and I believe that this is the case with Eneloops. My oldest Eneloop AA batteries are now over 4 years old and still going strong, and they still perform quite well after being recharged well over 100 times. How long will they last? Who knows! If you wait for a sale and buy in bulk, you can purchase good alkaline batteries for around 25 cents apiece......not bad. BUT, if you pay $2.50 apiece for Eneloops and recharge them only 100 times, then your actual cost is only one tenth the cost of the new alkaline batteries. However, based upon my actual experience, you can recharge the Eneloops MUCH more than 100 times. For someone like me (who uses their batteries a LOT) , this is an economic no-brainer. Now, I have a comment on ... MoreSometimes you get MORE than you pay for, and I believe that this is the case with Eneloops. One call to Newegg Customer Service and the problem was resolved quickly and to my complete satisfaction. Great product, low price, and excellent service..........Thank you, Newegg!
I did my research (a few years ago) before buying a new battery charger, so I have a really great charger. That's IMPORTANT if you want these batteries to last practically forever.I've got an Energy 16 Plus charger. It does great.I have NEVER had to throw away one of these Eneloop batteries. I have some that I've been using for YEARS (by which I mean: more than 5 years). I have an older digital camera (high power device), flashlights, etc. These things have never failed to recharge and never failed to function well.Pros:- rechargeable- practically forever (they claim 2,000 recharges, and I have no reason to doubt it)Cons:- quite a bit more expensive than alkaline batteries, but since you can use them over and over and over and over again, they more than ... MoreI did my research (a few years ago) before buying a new battery charger, so I have a really great charger. For devices that draw very little power (like remote control), maybe it's smarter to use cheap alkaline or even cheaper carbon batteries.
I love having these because I get all the advantages of a rechargeable battery - but when I need one, I don't have to recharge it first / fast because it holds charge between recharging and use - not like the older rechargeables where I'd have to take it out of the drawer and then recharge it. Especially as recently I've had a few problems with my non-rechargables. This is definitely my preferred brand as they have never leaked on any of my electronics or on my other batteries unlike my non-rechargeables and they hold more power than my older rechargeables. Price isn't bad given what I am getting. Non-rechargables cheaper up front but more hassle to me lately so I'd prefer to stick to rechargables from here on out.
