Until recently I was a "wet shaver" and bought a £25.00 rotary electric shaver. Big mistake - it was useless. I have now bought the Panasonic ES-LV97 with the self cleaning recharger. It is brilliant. The morale - buy the most expensive shaver you can afford and you won't regret it. I can thoroughly recommend the Panasonic ES-LV which was on offer through Amazon with instalments.

I bought this approximately 4 weeks ago. Special offer on Amazon following extensive research this one always appeared in top 3 best buys. It lives up to its reputation and features. Charged in less than an hour!!. Slick easy to hold but best of all smooth glide over face gives an outstanding shave with no nicks or cuts. Very happy with my purchase

I have tough bristles, but never got on with wet shaving. In the past I have always purchased Braun shavers. However I was never 100% happy with them, having to go over and over again to remove the hairs. This time when my last Braun shave fell to pieces I looked on the internet and read the reviews on electric shavers. I found out about the Panasonic range and purchased my first Panasonic shaver. It shaves so much better than my previous shavers and is much quicker, not needing to repeatedly go over the same area. My only regret is not have purchased a Panasonic shaver before.

I was given this product to review as part of the Panasonic Reviewer program. Having used the shaver for a week or so I can say that to hold and use is very nice. it feels good in the hand and the level of irritation has definitely reduced compared to my last razor. On a negative note I find that it requires a few go overs when using as it does not get all hairs and I often have to use the flick up beard trimmer to get some it always seems to not get. Overall I have been very impressed with the battery life, ease of use and comfort one is left with after using as I am getting little to no skin irritation. All in all I would say it is a good razor but it does seem to miss some hairs which is frustrating. That be said I will more than likely keep it but if I had paid ... Both have excellent ratings but I think Braun have let this go to their head a little (no pun intended), their series 9 range is very expensive. In the end it was the ease of cleaning the Arc 5 that swung it. The LV97 comes with a cleaning/charging station that use water and a sachet of cleaning solution which, once mixed, they say will last for 30 days. Braun's 9 series need a special cartridge which is more expensive. I can't speak for the performance of the Braun 9 but I don't believe it can be better than the Arc 9. What an incredible shave experience. Unbelievably close shave for an electric razor that exceeded my expectations. It took about a week for my skin to adjust to the new razor, but that was to be expected. The cleaning and charging system works very well, leaving the razor like new every time it is used. The great value cleaning solution beats the competition hands down and the minimal packaging is much more environmentally friendly. I cannot recommend this shaver highly enough. You will not be disappointed if you go ahead and buy one of these.

After a month I can say I'm very happy with the shaver, very satisfied with the results, and my skin looks and feels better than ever, especially on my neck, as all the scar tissue caused by wet shaving has gone.
I have been using this shaver for just over a week, I usually only shave twice each week but have used this every other day as a trial. I have tried different shaving methods both wet and dry, all produce a really close shave.It will never be as close as a razor but it's close enough for me given the convenience.The cleaning and charging station is very convenient though noisy at the beginning of the cycle.I'm very happy with my purchase.
Ive had a much more basic Panasonic electric wet/dry foil shaver before. It had three blades and was good but I used to get cuts from it occasionally. This used to lead to ingrown hairs. I thought this was just the way it was with foil shavers. This new shaver (ES-LV97) is completely different and well worth the additional cash. If I had a bit of stubble with my old shaver it would take a good few minutes to shave my face properly. The ES-LV97 is completely different. This shaver allows me to shave my face in half the tim. In addition to this the closeness of the shave is phenomenal. My skin feels so smooth (it feels like Ive used a manual razor). The idea on using electric shaver has always appealed to me because of the convenience, over the years I have owned various models and have tried to persevere with them, but have felt that they were OK for a 'top up' shave as they have lacked the performance that I require for a daily usage. I saw this model on offer, did a little research and purchased it. The results have exceeded my expectations by a considerable margin. I like to wet shave in the bath and have found the Panasonic ES-LV97 wonderful, it is easy to grip with wet hands and the shave it gives is better than most razors that I have used, the finished result is so smooth, with no irritation and no missed bits. I had forgotten how great you feel after a good shave.
