Purchased this phone for my 91 year old Mother who has been missing calls for several years - couldn't hear the ringer. She is very hard of hearing and refuses to wear hearing aids. While we were visiting she had her TV at her usual volume of about 51, the neighbors know what she is watching, when the new phone rang. The volume was high enough that she actually jumped a little and then saw the red flashing lights. She actually answered her phone for the first time in a long time and was able to hear what the other person was saying. The buttons are large enough for her to use. Overall a great phone, after a rather arduous learning session. She and electronics don't mix.

Best cordless I've ever used!

These cordless phones represent excellent value. Solid construction. You can feel the quality in the handset. due to the visual and audio features. You can even set the system to announce your caller if you have caller ID with your service provider. Excellent for anyone with hearing impairments; problems with vision; wanting something with decently sized and spaced controls; or anytime where hearing the phone ring and/or not being able to hear the caller clearly, such as in a business/factory environment has been an issue. The screen's a decent size, but if you have trouble seeing what you've dialed, you can set it to speak each digit you key in. Having said that, there's a belt clip, so I just hook it onto my trousers or at the top of my T-shirt. Or you can place the phone on the table. The speaker is of high quality, so you won't have any trouble hearing or being heard. The combinations of lights and ringers is fully customisable, even down to tone selection of EACH ringer style.Battery standby is excellent and the display will show 'fully charged' when it is complete. A full charge is roughly 7hrs, so an overnight charge does the trick. Speaker phone on cordless handsets and bases is usually [in my experience] scratchy and poor. Not with this unit. Callers say the quality is crisp and clear and no one ends up cutting over the top of the person at either end of the conversation. This applies equally to the base unit too, and you don't have to shove your face in it to be heard! The 3 one touch 'frequent caller' memory buttons on the base are handy and these are matched to the handset also. I FULLY RECOMMEND this cordless unit to ANYONE wanting exceptional quality. Best cordless out there for non 'supertech' users!

Fantastic phone! Solid construction, features that are useful and easy to use such as larger buttons, extra volume, battery backup and much more. In short, this phone rocks and a zillion times better than others (including other Panasonic models that some Telcos will try to sell you!). Highly recommend this phone for anyone 'older' or not super tech savvy and needs reliable functionality!

Delivery great, manual not so good.

It is too early to say exactly, looks promising. Have a problem with the manual. It is not for the model I purchased. I'm having to do a lot by trial and error. I prefer specific instructions which match the product I purchased. I did receive the items in a timely manner. Did pretty good.

Disappointed in product

My father is 93 and has hearing aids. I've gone through several types of phones all with no luck when I decided to research "phones for the hearing impaired". This was the top recommended unit so I said I'll give it a try. I have to say I'm disappointed. The hearing quality is certainly better than the regular old hand helds but not worth the price. No way in IMHO. As well, the battery lasts no where near what's stated in the literature and it had a couple fairly large scratches on it when I unpackaged. Long story short it's not worth the money. I would not repeat

Great assistant for mom

Purchased for mom. The slow speech feature works great and the audio boost is adjustable from 12db to 40db. Has a convenient rocked on side of handset to adjust boost when in boost mode. Buttons are good size. The flashing LEDs are very helpful especially when there is a voicemail, mom also has vision issues and they do get her attention. Overall I give it 5 stars and the slow speech is a function that sets this phone apart from other audio boost phones. I don't think anyone would be disappointed in purchasing this phone. I also purchased two extensions for other rooms, they function just like the base unit. Great buy for mom!

Great features from a trusted company

The hearing challenged features on this phone answering system are amazing. Sound 'Boost' plus voice 'slow' capabilities help those with hearing loss. The Bluetooth capabilities extend the system from rooms to the entire house and backyard. Lots of helpful age assisted features make this great upgrade to any phone system.

Loud but not booming

I bought this for my mom of 91. While the phone is louder than a standard unit, it is not over the top. It does the job but I guess I was expecting it to be even a bit louder. The handset is very comfortable, the display is big and it is easy to set up. It has waaaay too many options for seniors to be bothered with but that's ok as many of them are incidental. I programmed the phone to operate at ear shattering levels all the time so mom doesn't have to mess with it. Yes, I would purchase it again.

Perfect, but white

I would have given it 5 stars if it were black instead of white. The black version connects to a cell phone, and cost slightly more. I did not want the cell phone feature because I live in a cell phone "dead zone." I bought this to replace an earlier version of the same thing. The features on this phone excellent, and designed to help people who are vision and hearing impaired. I do not believe you can find find a better phone with comparable features, and the Panasonic brand is one that I have respected for many years. Keeping it clean and white is the only downside to this phone.

Poor sound quality

The quality of the sound coming from the ear piece is very poor. I chose this phone because it had a lot of holes around the speaker in the handset, making it hard to accidentally position it with a fold of your ear blocking the opening where the sound comes out. I am buying this for my aunt who is almost 101 years old, but testing first. I will be returning it. If it were for me, I'd still return it because the sound is so bad. It is not that it is faint, just not clear, like too much sound being forced through too little speaker. This is a Panasonic and my desk phone is a 40 year old Panasonic corded phone and it is so nice and clear.
