Panasonic Rice Cooker

Great rice cooker makes life so much easier. Rice tastes wonderfu ,l dont forget to rinse well or soak for a bit and drain well before putting in rice cooker. Fluffing it up when its finished works a treat. Makes wonderful spiced mix rice or Biryani rice too.

5L rice cooker

This rice cooker has performed well, with perfectly cooked rice every time. It is a perfect size for us and is small enough to pack easily into the cupboard. The only issue is that the lid does not come off for cleaning and that it doesnt have a bell or buzzer to alert you that it has finished cooking.

Average (with minor annoyances)

A good rice cooker that, does what it's meant to do (cooks rice!") but let's get the negatives out of the way:1. The 'top' that acts as the lid is hard fixed, so after cooking there's no real way to clean it other than just wiping it, which for seasoned rice cookers like myself, I like to use some elbow grease to wash and clean it. Wiping just doesn't cut it. It should really be made to detach somehow which it doesn't, and doesn't feel clean to be honest just wiping it.2. Under the lid, at the edges, the steam builds up and leaks into a Lil reservoir of sorts on the edges and kinda leaks. The only way I can think of making sure it doesn't happen, is to leave it open to evaporate after cooking which isn't really a great thing to do.4. You can find those really cheap 30 buck rice cookers that cook the same amount for about 2/3 the size.Those are the big bads for me, but the big good is that it cooks very good rice all the time, I like the fuzzy method of cooking the rice, I tested it with putting a little too much water and a little to little water, and it's always come out pretty well. So in the end, and quality of rice wise, it's good.Didn't allow me to put this rating but I would've put 2 and a half stars (pass mark), mainly because of the negatives above in ratio to its price tag which is on the expensive end.. but you don't allow half stars, so between 2 and 3, I'd rather give it a 2.

Easy for cooking rice .

Good and easy instruction. Should have time remaining till finish. Good guys offered $20 discount- but when we went to buy the cooker, it was not offered. we are still waiting for our discount reply. It's very unusual for Good Guys.

Excellent budget microcomputer rice cooker

Charming design and super delicious, presentable rice. Much cheaper than other fuzzy microcomputer rice cookers, but probably just as good. Lacks a speaker to announce when the rice is ready, and is a bit larger than I expected it to be, but I’m still really happy with this.

Great Compact Rice Cooker, Make Perfect Rice

It cooks our rice 20 out of 20 times, perfectly. I use to fluff around with getting the water ratio right but with this one, if water ratio is off it still compensates so the outcome is perfect - not to soft, not too hard rice. Hopefully this will last another 15 years. We bought the tiny 5 cup one for our tiny family and it is really compact for our tiny 2 bedroom apartment. Easy to store and easy to setup. No matter if its long grain, short grain, medium grain, brown rice, white rice it will cook best for you. Read manual before operating.

Makes good rice

Does what it says on the tin. The instructions are a bit unclear at first, but once you get the pattern it all makes sense. Apart from that I can't fault it. Rice comes out nice and fluffy, and very easy to use.So far it's been easy to clean.

Panasonic 5 cup Rice Cooker

It works fine but the rice tends to stick to itself and the bottom of the pan more than Id like. Instructions recommend rinsing the rice first to reduce that but it hasnt solved it. Ive tried adding more than the suggested amount of water, which helps the end result, but it then it splatters out of the top vent

Small and great for small family

Bought this and it is good for cooking white rice but not good for cooking brown rice. Not sure why it takes almost 2 hours to cook brown rice. Even cheap rice cooker doesn’t take so longlike that to cook any type of rice.

Solid-performing, simple rice cooker

This rice cooker gets quite mixed reviews, but my experience has been very good. It has taken a couple of batches to perfect the water/rice ratio (tip: closer to 1.5:1 for white rice than what the instructions suggest), but the rice is a great texture and I haven't experienced the problem of excessive water around the lid as has been reported elsewhere. Everything wipes clean very easily and the steam vent is also removable for easy cleaning. For brown rice in particular, the manual states that it is allowed to sit for 50 minutes before the main cooking process begins for a total of 1h 50m. White rice takes around 35 minutes for 1.5-2 cups of dry rice. There is no beep when cooking is complete, so you do need to either use a timer or keep an eye on it.Overall, this is simple rice cooker, with no programmable functions, but it does have the ability to produce good cooked rice in smaller batches than the standard 10-cup cookers.
