I've had mine for a little over a year and it plays 4K beautifully, (especially compared to a previous player). I've actually found the connectivity to netflix, prime, iview & on demand much better than my tv so have been using it for that also.Operation is quick, it's easy to update the software on (two I think so far) and had easy to understand instructions. My only down side that I can think of is that it can take a little bit of a learning curve to work through the settings menu(s), but that might be because I tinker with everything too!

I really wanted to score this 3.5 stars but not possible. I bought this player to bring new life into my DVD and Blu-ray collection and it is impressive. Sadly the cost cutting on this player is just way to evident to overlook and I really wish I got the next model up the range. But the image quality helps to make amends. Tip- Older DVD's should be upscaled to 1080p for best results and not 4K. Blu-ray should be upscaled to 4K which both can be adjusted in the settings menu. The small remote can not be programed to operate non Panasonic TV's so take half a star off my rating for that alone!

Awesome player but voice control features are obstructive at best, when working with Google voice control, you have to register an account with Panasonic, then link your device to that account, then manually link this account with Google - which only works on some devices - and then ask Google to link with Panasonic every time you want to use voice features.Every time you want to pause, you ask Google to talk to Panasonic, then it reads a full list of things you can do which takes a full minute, and only then can you issue a command. After which, the player automatically disconnects and you have to do it all again to issue another command.Suuuuper irritating as a feature, but if you're not concerned with smart house networking it's excellent.

What's this with the current trend of not putting in a front panel display?! You can't even tell if the disk's ended playing or it's just a pause. Same goes for the absence of the Play / Stop / Skip buttons at front. Even the LG has them. At the very least the Panasonic could be starting playing CDs once they are inserted. YouTube can do 4K though, which is good. The remote is short and stubby, the buttons are crammed, especially the number pad at the top. The Search buttons have only one slow speed which doesn't even work on FLAC files. The fan doesn't shut off when the unit is on. It's quite audible in a quiet room at night. The video quality of DVDs and 4K movies is good, so if it's all you need then this player is for you.

And don't try it on FLACs - it'll just waste your time, but won't move the playback from the current position.Looks like the processor in this model is under-powered and over-stressed - the fan works constantly even when all you're doing is playing a CD. The fan is probably not designed to shut itself off when the unit is operating. It's quite audible in a quiet room at night.The video quality of DVDs (being upscaled) and 4K movies is quite good, so if all you need is to put the movie on and let it play without much interaction, you won't be disappointed.
I bought this model over the weekend and found on trying to watch a 4k movie through it, that the audio couldn't keep up with the picture. Also it caused this diagram of instructions on how to use the remote to come up in the bottom corner of my screen, spent the better half of my afternoon trying to figure out how get rid of this display, after googling the problem I realized I wasn't the only person with this problem from a Panasonic machine. I ended up taking it back and getting a different brand. Haven't had any problem since. Definitely would not recommend. But I must say the friendly staff at JB HiFi were great when dealing with the return.
Performance of the unit is very good and easy to use once set up. The inbuilt Wi-Fi is stable and streams internet content reliably. A better internet browser would be an advantage. The down side is there is no display on the unit except a power lamp. If the input on the TV is incorrectly selected, you are left wondering if the machine is playing or not. I guess if you pay more then a display will be provided. Region 4 only on the DVD is a little frustrating, but is a motion mpicture nindustry requirement rather than the manufacturer of the unit. Given the choice again, I would likely spend more to get a display.
A compact player with a simple and clean user interface. I would prefer that it had a simple tray rather than folding down the entire front face, and that it had a simple play button on the front face. However, it controls very well from the remote of my Sony TV. The image is excellent
Good little unit. Quick to boot up and good user interface. Unfortunately, it can't play MKV files with EAC3 codecs. This was my main reason for buying and returning this unit. Even though the specs says it can play MKV, it can't. Oddly, my Panasonic TV can play the same MKV files.The remote is also a little small with the main buttons towards the bottom. Awkward to hold when pressing those buttons. Solid unit for 4K but limited as a media player.
I made a mistake and failed to check on how to unlock blu ray regions on this dvd player prior to purchase. In the end, I had to purchase something to unlock the DVD regions (gone are the days of being able to key in a code to unlock DVD regions). However, other than purchasing a firmware update, there doesn't seem to be any way to unlock the blu ray regions.Aside from the region locking issue, the DVD player is fine. It works well. It was easy to set up. The inability to unlock the machine overshadowed my enjoyment of this purchase.I want to be clear that this is not appliances online's fault. Their service has been great. I should have done my research before purchasing the machine.
