Patagonia Better Sweater Vest - Black - XS - Women

I love vests and this is a nice one. The outer fabric looks like a knit sweater, which gives it a slightly dressier look. I chose navy, but I like all the colour options and found it hard to decide. Inside is cozy, warm fleece. The pocket lining is a soft, smooth thin fleece. The fit is snug and feels warm right away. I usually take medium and this one fits just right.I wear a vest when I want just an extra bit of warmth around my core, sometimes with an outer garment, but mostly just on its own over a long or short-sleeve shirt. A well-fitting vest is an important staple in my wardrobe.

The vest is excellent; it is the right weight for the in-between season here in the mid-Atlantic region. (Fall may last all of five minutes, but I want this vest for each of them.) I have been trying to find excuses to wear this, and so far it has been perfect for inside the house on cold days before we turn the heat on and for long, chilly morning walks. Thinking of turning down the thermostat at work just to have another reason. Patagonia has the perfect clothes for every weather.(But why, oh why, can I not add contractions to a review? No apostrophes allowed?)

While I am grateful that Patagonia has started to make sizing for todays woman, I am disappointed in the look of this vest after wearing it only a short period of time. I purchased a black and light grey vest via the wornwear page. They were a great deal, excellent condition and honestly, looked brand new when they arrived. I do not wear these every day. The black vest I tend to wear more, however. The pilling of the material on the outside now makes it look horribly bad. I took pictures thinking I could post them but Patagonia doesn't provide that option. I can't wear the black vest, in public, any longer because of how bad it looks. I'm going to purchase a sweater pill shredder and see if that helps. For the price (even on WornWear) I would expect Better!
