Finally, a Patagonia jacket that fits! I love Patagonia products but at 4’11 hardly anything fits right. This jacket is the exception. It hits me slight longer that waist length but I like that, and the cuff on the inside, makes sleeve just long enough to not be too long. The jacket is extremely warm and yet feels like nothing. I hate feeling constricted in winter gear and this jacket avoids that. Plus the green color is amazing! Better in person than in the pictures. Would highly recommend. Well worth the cost. I also appreciate there is no big branding label on the outside of the jacket. Thanks Patagonia!

I’ve been looking for a puffer jacket for months and finally found this one from Patagonia. I was hesitant to purchase down for ethical reasons, however was relieved to find a recycled down option. This jacket is the perfect semi-cropped length and sooo warm. I personally love that it doesn’t have a hood, and the collar sits at a great height. It’s puffy and on trend but not overly boxy. I love how understated and effortless it is. I’ve received so many compliments on it. Yes it’s an investment piece in terms of price, but I know I will have this jacket for many many years to come.I’m 5’7 and usually wear a US 2 / AU 6 and found the XS to be the perfect size with plenty of room for a sweater underneath without feeling too oversized.

I've owned this coat for about 4 years now and the bottom line is it's great, I wear it all the time and it's held up well through years of use so far.Some stuff I like: 1. it's warm without being too warm or bulky - on the scale of down jackets i'd say this one is midweight and decent at blocking wind. On colder days I put another warm layer underneath and use the cinch cords to keep cold wind out of the bottom of the jacket. The pockets are lined with a nice soft material to keep your hands warm.2. Great for everyday wear but also works well for staying warm while camping or belaying. I primarily wear this as a casual winter coat but I've also taken it on many camping and climbing trips with good results. I wouldn't pick this coat if I was going to put it through real abuse since it is a casual jacket with a nice soft outer shell fabric, but I've definitely scraped mine up a bit on branches and rocks while scrambling and haven't had any rips or tears. I wash it once or twice a year with down wash to clean and re-fluff it.Stuff I don't like:1. I have the mustard yellow color and it stains more easily than some other jackets I've owned, probably because the material is soft and it's a lighter color. I get some discoloration on the cuffs and pockets from regular wear, although it does come out in the wash. I don't think this would be an issue with a darker color.2. Sometimes I wish the pockets zipped for more security. The snaps work well enough but sometimes I get paranoid that I'm going to drop my keys or something.
I once tried a Silent Down Jacket XS in store a while ago and it fit my small frame perfectly, like other Patagonia XS jackets. I didn't buy it then, and got the dusty red color when I saw it this year and goodness it is massive! I don't know if it was redesigned to be bigger or whatever but I'm swimming in it. Which is weird because the regular down jacket lineup was redesigned to be so narrow that the XS doesn't even fit me.Why so much inconsistency in sizes Patagonia! For a short style like this, you can make a slim fit because it doesn't cover our hips. For a longer style like the down sweater, it needs more room because women have hips. But you're doing the opposite! At least make an XXS here for us who love the soft fabric.
Loved the feel and cosiness of this jacket. A beautiful soft fabric and nice ribbed cuffs on the wrists to keep the warmth in. I found it to be a good fit, not too tight around the hips like some of the other styles that seem better suited to those who aren't an hourglass shape. Unfortunately the dealbreaker here was the external pockets. They are only secured with a singular snap button (no zip). There's no way I'd put anything valuable in those pockets - it's bound to fall out and I don't fancy losing my keys or earbuds! Such a shame because otherwise it's a perfect jacket. I note the men's version has zip pockets. It seems like a case of form over function for the ladies' version, which is a bit disappointing.
I just cannot believe there are no more colors other than black anymore! This is hands down the most incredible jacket I've ever worn. I've had mine for nearly 2 years and it has held up beautifully. I've worn it on every occasion, during fall, winter, and spring, and the compliments are literally endless. It's as soft and as light as can be. If Patagonia were to bring more colors back, I would buy at least 2-3 more of these jackets. I own countless Pata-jackets/coats and this is by-far my favorite and most well-loved jacket of theirs. PLEASE BRING THIS BACK! Never, ever ever, retire this jacket. If the Better Sweater is such a Patagonia mainstay, this jacket better be too!

The down sweater always felt a little restrictive in the fit with a 36C bust, it was barely big enough. My new jacket is the softest warmest and most comfortable jacket ever. I love the snap option so that as I get warm on a hike or walk I can unsnap and then zip up when the chill gets intense. It is a beautiful color, I got the blue grey and looks more stylish than the down sweater. The high neck is so soft against the skin and the pockets are soft on the inside. It is light as a feather, so pleased. I sized up to a large but could have worn the medium just fine. Perfect for living in Chicago and running errands, shopping, anything where you would need mobility and comfort while keeping warm and it's lightweight enough that you can take it off indoors while carrying it around without bulk or heaviness. The sleeve cuff is one of my favorite parts - it gives a great seal from the cold and wind, and gloves fit around it perfect so you don't get any coldness entering your arms. For the 15% polar vortex or long activity days, I wear this underneath a waterproof, thigh-length shell from another parka I have and it's a very warm and comfy combo. Trust me - this is the coat you didn't know you needed.
I love the fit and feel of this jacket: the exterior is buttery, the down is voluminous and warm, and details like storm cuffs and the cord at the bottom keep the jacket nice and toasty.However: I purchased the black, and within a few months of wear, the area around the shoulders had begun fading noticeably. The only time this jacket is exposed to the sun is when I wear it, as I store it in a coat closet when not in use. Now, the jacket is no longer the black I had purchased, but a faded black-brown, and it no longer feels appropriate to wear to work or anywhere else I need to feel presentable.
