First let me say I love the smooth , polished look this fleece has on the outside while still being super cozy and warm ! It is a more fitted sweater than most casual fleece and looks good on a small , lean person ! Very flattering for someone like me , it might not work for a thicker person or someone who likes a roomy fit unless they size up ! I will order another in a brighter blue as I would love to have a collection of theses ! I also adore the half zip design as again it tends to work well with an over jacket or coat without being bulky ! Truly great quality , well finished with knit edging ! Really love theses year after year ! Thank you ! Don't change a thing ( except maybe more colors ) !

Probably our 12th Better Sweater 1/4 zip. Never fails, always well made. In 10 years I've never had any problems...colors are always changing but the size and construction stays the same. Size is consistent also. Runs on the small size as far as chest and sleeve width...so size up if you have a layer or two underneath. I use this primarily for skiing as a warmer layer over a baselayer for colder days. For general use, usually over a t-shirt or regular thin layer. Can't go wrong with the 1/4 zip.

For being over 10 years old, I haven't had too much of an issue with pilling, relatively minor. The fit of these quarter zip fleeces are a slim fit so they do fit closer to the body. Many folks say this line runs small, which I agree with somewhat. I am 5'8" and a size 12-14 and pretty busty on top and wear the XL in Better Sweater products. I generally wear a short sleeved capilene top underneath with no issue. I do think the newest iterations run a bit more narrow in the shoulders and arms and the body of the fleece feels a bit longer than my 10+ year old Better Sweaters. The sweater is the perfect weight and will be great for travelling. It’s not too baggy and not too tight. That being said, it fits small so be aware if you intend to layer or want a looser look. I’m a small in almost everything. I am 5’7, 130lbs and larger chested and the small would have never fit me or would have been skin tight. The medium was perfect. I will say, the price point is a bit steep for a polyester sweater. I’ll be returning and will wait for it to go on sale

However, I want to stress the benefits I get from the warmth (I can wear this Fall through Spring in Northern California) and the cozy feeling a pullover provides outweigh that narrow neck opening. I could also just have a big head. It does stretch a little with wear so I find it easier to take on and off after I've removed it the first time after a wash. Subsequent wears aren't as claustrophobic affairs. I don't remember what the exact care instructions are on the label, but I wash it on cold/gentle and lay it flat to dry. After this long, it hasn't pilled at all. Like, not even a little bit. Maybe it's the air dry, maybe it's the color, maybe it's that my sweater is circa 2017 or 2018 and something's been updated since. In any case, I have not had a problem with pilling. The sweater still looks brand new. I'm also not very hard on it and try to only wash it when it starts to smell funky. I'm giving 4/5 stars because I wish the pocket was a kangaroo rather than sleeve pocket.
I love this black shade. The slim fitting is so nice and looks lovely. Happy with my jumper. I found my favourite jumpers now. I have the shade in the dark green and I love that colour as well, it washed up perfectly in cold water and a little bit of fabric softener with the detergent (wash once with fabric softener before wearing. Then wash in just a bit of detergent as required for the life of the garment. As fleece doesn’t like fabric softener).
I walk to work, which is about .5 mile from where I live. Not a long walk, but it can be gruesome in the snow. I wear one thin layer under this sweater and my large coat on top and I can't feel the cold or wind at all. This thing keeps me warm, dry, and mobile with minimal layering. I swear, this is the best purchase I've made all year. And when I get to work, I don't even have to take it off because it never gets too warm. It's the absolute best product and I would highly recommend it. Is it worth the $129 that I paid? We'll see how long it holds up, but I honestly think it is. I wear a large in regular clothes, but always size up when I know I'm gonna be layering. I really want to like this pullover, but it is just so unflattering on my body. I tried it on with both a thick layer underneath and a light tank top, but in both cases the sweater flares out at the middle in a way that adds significant volume to my middle. I am 5ft 5in and 120lbs and I look about ~5 months pregnant with it on. In addition, when I wore it with a tank top underneath I found the stiff seams on the arm to rub uncomfortably, which would make me not want to wear it unless I had a long sleeve top on underneath. I plan to return it
I ordered this item in Night Plum, size XS. I am a 5 foot tall woman who weighs about 95 pounds. I would say that I have a 'boy-like' figure. The sweater sort of bunches out in the middle of the back, and the only way to get it to lay flat is if I hunch over in an exaggerated manner. Not flattering. It might work if I had a paunch, or were pregnant, and just maybe my protruding belly would take up the fabric slack in the back, but thankfully, I don't, and am not. This sweater better fit somebody right. I returned it.
I have 3 Patagonia tops in an XS which fit perfectly, so I ordered this sweater in an XS. It runs a little bit smaller than the other tops, maybe because the inside is fleece. It is a little tight in the back when I move my arms forward. However, it is a wonderful sweater, the warmth is incomparable. The XS is very fitted and from the standpoint of looking classic and well cut, it fits the bill. I highly recommend the sweater and am going to order others in a S.
