Pelikan M800 Fountain Pen M Premium Plume Black

The Moonman fountain pen itself is gorgeous and well made. Fits in my hand perfectly unposted. I got the blue and the acrylic is absolutely beautiful. The nib, a fine, is another story. It’s a nail, hard starts and skips but somehow when it does work is extremely wet and gushes ink all over the page and bleeds through fountain pen paper even with a very well behaved ink like Pilot blue black. That nib is unusable and I have ordered some #6 nibs in order to salvage this pen

Great service and shipping. I had been given a local quote for the Pelikan M800 that was astronomical and thought that owning this pen was out of reach. Upon coming across Zafpens and doing a little reasearch, I ordered my Pen with confidence. Great pen, fabulous smooth Schmit nib.\nSimilar to a Pelikan style, but at an affordable price. Chinese pens are really good these days, I'm really impressed! I don't impress easily, I design watches for a living, so very fussy.\n\nConsidering it came direct from China it arrived very quickly! Excellent looking pen in exceptional quality resin. The Moonman fine nib writes pretty good and I’m quite happy with this purchase. The shop owner shipped my pen very fast and everything went very smoothly. I recommend the Moonman M800 pen for a great writing experience. I am very satisfied with this pen. It is large enough such that I doubt I would ever get an M1000. If I had it to do over again I would have ordered a fine nib. The medium is to broad for my style of writing. Is it a good value for the money? That is up to the individual, since everyone's situation is different.

My Just Reward

I bought this pen to replace my old M400 which I purchased fifteen years ago. The 400 has been, and is a magnificent instrument but I always felt that it was not ideally suited for my hand. So, I finally obtained the pen that I should have had all these years.The M800 is everything I knew I needed and then some. With the broad nib it writes with a silky smoothness and it fits my hand perfectly. I absolutely love it.The good news is that I am going to gift my old M400 to my 30-year-old daughter who I know will absolutely love it as well. Pelikan M800 Burnt Orange

Like all Pelikan 800s this is a great pen. I got the extra fine nib and am quite happy with it. I chose the EF as Pelikan nibs can fall on the wide side. The nib is smooth and wet. Not crazy wet, but certainly on the wet side. I was surprised to find the Burnt Orange as it was an LE seven or eight years ago (missed it that go round). The pen will work well for beginners, but price will probably move it toward the advanced user.

I would say the nib lays down a Euro Fine. The build quality was better than I thought it would be, (Based on Feel Only.) it "feels" like the same weight and texture of a Leonardo Momento Zero I have the Prugna but the grip section is better on the M800, the gold plating on the trim is also better on the M800. I like contrasting colors of black/red, black/orange in general. And this pen with the gold appointments with the red stripes on the body and the black on the cap and piston knob is what made me want this pen based on looks alone, as I prefer to write with Japanese xf / f sized nibs. The M800 is one of my favorite pens to write with.
