Binocular arrived well protected by its packaging. Light weight and well made and seems to be very good quality. It's very useful and easy to use for certain purposes, which is why I bought it. It won't replace a larger, good quality binocular but that's not what it's for. Shipping was free and very quick. It fills a need for a very nice, small, casual use tool that won't weigh a person down.

As other reviewers have noted, the case supplied is too snug, but a Megagear neoprene case for small cameras like a Canon Powershot or Fuji XF10 fits perfectly.

For glass under 300$ CDN I personally feel that nothing Beats Pentax Ricoh. I take this ocean paddle boarding/hiking and the small light weight form factor is appreciated. close focus you will see double circles but that doesn't bother me as I am greatful that's it even has a decent close focus at all for what you get in this form factor. Sometimes it's nice to observe insects and flowers when the moment arises, this accommodates my needs. If one doesn't need a weather proof/collapsible small form bin, I'd highly recommend the Papilio 2 6.5 x21. At the end of the day my favourite bin is an 8x32 but it cost 4 -5 times as much and these serve the perfect purpose of what ever you have on you is what you will use. Buy these and take them everywhere all the time.

Much brighter - than a lighter and smaller pair I bought - with a very noticeable wider circle which seems to make focusing etc. easier.I can really tell the difference when tried to read id signs on the trees at the arboretum from a distance.It is also easier to find a bird, though I have brought an old bulky camera (FZ200) that zooms more (24x) that works even better, esp. since when I get home I have a picture I can share and enlarge.I like using them without glasses best, but I find I have to hold them slightly away from the eyes, or they blackout (eyelashes?). I bought these to replace a 25 year old pair of Pentax 7x21 UCF mini binoculars which still work reasonably well, but have the old style fold-down eye cups. I do also own Vortex Dback 8x28 and Leupold Yosemite 8x30 to compare optical quality against. I would describe the optical clarity of the Pentax 8x25s as very decent, and not significantly worse than any of my other binnies. I do wear eyeglasses and the long optical relief of the Pentax ADs is a welcome bonus.With respect to build quality, however, I do have a number of complaints. The little pentax box was flopping around loose in a 6x8x10 inch shipping box with two deflated air pack cushions. No apparent shipping damage, but annoying nonetheless.

The Pentax AD 8 x 25 WP are small and lightweight (9.6 ounces), and for their size offer excellent light-gathering.They are rubberized protecting against impacts, have waterproof seals, a central focusing knob, retractable twisting eyecups, and hinges that fold independently of each other.Optically, they have a wider field of view and colors appeared bright in most conditions. Even star gazing offers reasonably lighting.The fasteners for the straps are located between the eyepieces and the rubberized eyepieces feel comfortable.
This my third Pentax binoculars to own. Shot with Pentax cameras for many years as well. Pentax always makes great glass for their lines and binoculars. This 10x25 compact binocular is perfect for our large garden ignored to see the numerous birds that visit us through the year. The extra power and crisp lens make it easy to id the birds. The weight is a touch more that I expected but the extra telescopic reach and extra glass is the reason. Not a problem, however. My wife and I do really like these Pentax binoculars. With the warring pouch included we can add them to our tool belts for quick access as a bird arrive in the garden.
Small binoculars have limitations, but these are above average, are well-suited for casual use when size and weight are a concern. The eye-relief is unusually good for inexpensive binocs, and the inter-pupillary distance is good for small folding ones (the specs don't list, but it's enough for me, and I have a wide IP.)These will find a place in my travel kit, and will serve as opera glasses, but they won't replace my larger binoculars for more serious use.
Great glass for the price and weight and they seem solidly built. It takes a bit of fiddling to get them perfectly aligned with your hands and eyes, but they're comfortable to use. The only nits to pick are that the provided strap is uncomfortable and they don't hang straight down, rather they rest on the objective lens ends against your chest. I hang them reversed when around my neck to be comfortable.
