I've always considered Philips products to be well designed. Unfortunately, in this instance they have failed dismally. I was attempting to give myself a no.3 and pressed a fraction too hard and ended up with a no.1 up the back of my head. Needless to say I had to style accordingly. These will end up in the bin.

The manual has full and detailed information on the product usage and the product itself is very simple to use. Being stuck in semi-lockdown, I needed to get my hair cut. I usually go to a quick cut-type barber. When I cut my own hair with this clipper, my wife who usually HATES my paid-for barber haircuts said it looks much better than those. I'll be cutting my own hair from now on. Start with the longer settings on your first cut to play safe and familiarise then on your next time you can shorten the settings. Also, buy yourself one of those hair-thinning scissors because this clipper isn't made to thin out your hair, just to do the sides and back like the barbers usually would do. Battery life is superb too. Thank you, you geniuses at Philips! Saved me lots of money and it looks great!

So much easier to clip/buzz my hair without a cord. Cuts right through thicker hair. Turn on the extra speed for super fast setting. Many length settings and different combs for fades and styles. Also buzzes the eyebrows and beard very well. Very clean cut. Easy to clean with a little brush or water.

BEWARE, This Is Not a Beard Trimmer. I received this unit and discovered that there is no adjustment for the short comb. So I can't use it to trim my beard to desired length. I had to return it immediately. Too bad. Why does Philips not make the short comb adjustable ?

We desire the professional haircut but at the comfort of our own home which is exactly what this clipper offers.The front box states 'easy even haircut' and this is exactly true to its word. It is lightweight to use with a great grip therefore allows the precision needed without hands cramping up. The clipper sizes are not that great although they range from 2 mm to 32 mm. I would have preferred if it had clippers supporting longer hair too. I tried using the 32 mm clipper and it clipped my hair too short that it took me 5 weeks to get any decent style. Given the chance, I would not buy this product.
Cant see how the overall rating of 4.5 stars applies to this product. Its performance as a hair clipper is terrible. All the same faults as mentioned by the many other 1 star reviews. I would not recommend this product and will be asking for my money back.

Assuming you read the manual.Challenge:• Storage case is cheap quality. Thin walled made of flimsy plastic. So if you drop it on hard floor it’s likely to brake. Cheap recycled cardboard insert holds the pieces in their spots. But this is not going to hold up long. I would have pay more for either an aluminum case or a much better quality plastic.• The user manual and paperwork are hard to read. Because they are mostly in very very very small characters. This might be challenge for people with vision challenge or in low light. Alternatively the manuals are available in electronic format on Phillips website. Which can easily be display with larger characters. But you need both a internet connection and know how to use a PDF reader.• Hard to remove the attachments for the length settings. They are easy to put in. But hard to remove. And very hard to remove when wet after cleaning. Somehow a better grip on the side of the attachments might resolve this challenge.• The power cord easily get tangled. It’s time consuming to untangle the mess. But that is occasional. Only after extended and numerous use with the cord. I would have pay more for a tangle-free power cord.• The power settings occasionally and accidentally turn off while using the clipper. The length settings very seldom accidentally change though. A positive lock on both the power and length setting would be useful to prevent unwanted settings change.
