I’ve owned 3 Superautomatic Espresso/Cappuccino Machines. These machines tend to be quite expensive, and they generally last a decade before they begin to present chronic demand for repair. I recently purchased a PHILLIPS 4300 Lattetogo Superautomatic Espresso/Cappuccino Machine. The cost was about 1/3 that of my prior Superautomatic. PHILLIPS has made significant advances in technology, yielding not only a more delicious cup of coffee, but also greater ease of use, and greater relative value. My new PHILLIPS 4300 Lattetogo has exceeded my expectations. I have greater options available to customize my coffee drinks, less maintenance, and my PHILLIPS 4300 Lattetogo was much more affordable than my two prior Superautomatic Espresso/Cappuccino machines. Bottom line, I’m getting more delicious coffee flavor, with less effort, at a much lower cost. I offer my highest recommendation of the PHILLIPS Lattetogo line of Superautomatic Espresso/Cappuccino Machines.

Having started to really get into coffee, the various coffee types and flavours, I was on the look out for a new coffee machine to try. Fortunately, I was able to work with Philips and was given the opportunity to test the 4300 Automatic Espresso Machine. In summary, this is an excellent machine that allows you to concentrate on the type of coffee you want to drink, coffee strength, amount of milk and flavour. You don't need to worry about upkeep, cleaning, milk frothing as this is all automated. The machine was well packaged and was designed to allow only one person to lift the machine from the box onto the counter. The machine looks smart and sleek and whilst fairly long, can easily fit into a corner of a worktop with room to spare. The machine looks smart and sleek and whilst fairly long, can easily fit into a corner of a worktop with room to spare. Setup of the machine was easy with clear instructions on the machine for each step. There is also an online instruction video that can be followed for additional guidance. Once the machine was rinsed it was ready to go. Having the water tank at the front of the machine means there is never a need to go behind the machine and made filling the water tank up an easy task. Although the line to fill to on the water tank isn't completely clear. The machine also comes with a water filter which removes a worry on potential scaling issues. Each person will have their own preference with how they like their drinks. This machine has two user profiles (Blue and Green) and a guest profile which made it much easier for us to know the preferences of each persons drink. It's a slight shame you can't give them real names though. The machine heats up relatively quickly and is able to create a fresh cup in less than two minutes. The screen has a small progress bar at the bottom which is useful for judging how long your drink will take to make. You are able to adjust a number of settings before making your drink and the screen makes it clear as to what changes you have made such as the strength of the coffee, single or double shot, amount of coffee dispensed and amount of milk dispensed. If you make changes to a drink these settings are automatically saved to your profile which is great when you've found the setup you really enjoy. You can also adjust the grind of the coffee beans ( 12 settings) - this should be done when making an espresso and will take a few adjustments to find the grinding setting that suits you.The LatteGo attachment is really easy to setup and clean. Although it doesn't always feel securely attached to the machine due to how it hangs onto the hot water dispenser, the milk frothing has been consistent throughout the different drinks we've tried. It has been nice knowing that milk frothing will work with no manual intervention required. The colour screen is really useful for knowing exactly what is happening with the machine. It will also tell you when there are issues such as needing to dispense the coffee remains or more water being required.Once you have made all your drinks. The machine will automatically complete a rinse cycle which helps keep the upkeep of the machine. The LatteGo attachment is also really simple to clean and can be run through cold water in less than 30 seconds. A number of the parts are dishwasher safe and I have ran these through the dishwasher several times. In summary, this machine provides an easy to use way of making a variety of fresh coffee drinks without the need to manually create the drinks or worry about getting the milk frothing right. The automatic cleaning functionalities help ensure the machine is always in the best condition possible.

It's a no-braoiner if you use pods. The only caveat is how long the machine will last. But if it lasts two years it will more than pay for itself. So I'll taake that chance. If you primarily like drip coffee there are better options (I am keeping my aeropress), but for milk based drinks the LatteGo is fantastic. Thanks!

Good coffee but takes time to adjust. Out of the box it’s pretty much almost ready to use. Manual needs re work as it refers to non existent figures or illustrations. But with a bit common sense it can be assembled without manual. Takes maybe about 20-25 brew before it stabilises.A few negatives:- milk frothier always leave a tiny bit amount of milk at the bottom.- milk outlet has no adjustment, so you need to place the cup in the right position otherwise you’d miss it.- Machine often asks to empty coffee pick container although it’s only a quarter full. Ended up I just open the tray and close it back again.Positive:- easy to use, enough drink option more than I need- east to adjust or customise coffee level and milk froth amount.- looks good on the ... MoreGood coffee but takes time to adjust. This is a great fully automatic coffee machine. Easy to use and easy to clean. The Latte2Go milk frothing unit works well. It can be fiddly to clean and you must carefully reassemble it or risk leaks. The lid is also easily dropped inside the container as you try to fit it. The best part is there is no plastic tubes to wear out, clean or get tangled up.I like the small display and you can easily select your drink type and customise it. You can change the amount of coffee, milk and water or shots (depending on drink you select). It remembers your preferences for next time.I purchased this model based on great reviews on YouTube. That a substantial discount off the normal price that made it exceptional value for money.
Firstly it is really well packaged and included handles to make it easier to pull out of the box which I have not come across on other products.Setting the machine up with its multiple parts seemed complex at first but the on screen instructions walked you through step by step, paper instructions were included but not needed. In total including unboxing and set up took me 15 minutes. The product build quality is solid and stylish, fit for any kitchen or even classy coffee shop. The aquaclean filter is a brilliant addition for me as I have very hard water, during setup you can configure the machine to your water hardness, this is found by dipping the included test strip in water you will be using. The filter lasts for 95 litres before needing to be changed. The filter lasts for 95 litres before needing to be changed. The machine also displays the percentage of the filter left and if you change as soon as it reaches zero you do not need to descale the machine at all.The water container pulls out from the front which means you don’t have to move the machine to refill it, it also has a see through side so you can quickly and easily see the water level remaining. It has a sturdy uv safe cover for the bean hopper which allows you to use your choice of ground or whole beans. The moveable coffee spout is useful as I use different size containers depending on whether I’m travelling to work or enjoying at home. The touchscreen buttons have excellent sensitivity. Once you have chosen your drink the options allow you to customise your drink to your preference; the strength of coffee, amount of coffee, the amount of milk, your choice is then automatically saved under the profile you have selected. The fact you can make two user profiles as well as a guest profile is brilliant and means different people can save their own personal preferences. The drink options are:Espresso, coffee, americano, cappuccino, latte macchiato, cafe au lait, cafe crema, ristretto, milk froth and hot water.Whilst brewing the colour screen shows a progress bar but not the actual time remaining although once you’ve made one once you know roughly how long is left. The machine will also prompt you to empty the coffee grounds or refill the water. The large capacity drip tray is an essential plus due to the fact that this machine will rinse before every cup which also means you don’t get any dregs from previous uses.A main bonus for me is that everything is easy to clean as you can run a rinse cycle on the machine then put removable parts in the dishwasher.Overall it is a quality product, it allows you to take in the wonderful aroma of fresh coffee whilst it does all the hard work for you and the end product is a quality cup of coffee made to your personal preference. Ideal for everyday as well as entertaining.
We originally had a Phillips Saeco semi automatic coffee machine. We just needed to froth our own milk. To be honest, I prefer that and if I had to choose again, I would go with the model that you do that yourself. However, that certainly doesn’t detach away from how great this machine is.I love the profiles and the fact I can literally press 2 buttons, walk away and come back to my selected coffee. As with all new machines, the first few coffees ended up being poured down the sink, but we finally found our happy medium and I’m pretty satisfied. The only thing that we wish you could control is the amount of milk froth. I love froth coffees but hubby isn’t a fan and so we lose half his coffee by scooping the froth off the top. I love froth coffees but hubby isn’t a fan and so we lose half his coffee by scooping the froth off the top. You should be able to select a flat white setting so you only have the warm milk or atleast select from milk froth or just milk in the other drinks selection. The milk compartment is super easy to clean but there is a small little lip at the spout where milk gets built up and stuck. I am able to clean it with a toothpick but perhaps make that whole section seamless without added areas where milk can get in and fester. The water container is large so it’s not having to be filled every second day which is great and after having our old machine for so long, I’m always impressed by the shape of the coffee in the grounds tray. The one issue that I did read elsewhere is sometimes the button to turn it on is extremely sensitive and you may have to find the “right spot” for it to actually turn on. It can sometimes take a while. You shouldn’t have to do that. You should be able to just turn it on. It isn’t a daily thing but it is rather frustrating.
After trying a different brand and returning that due to a fault and deciding not to try another due to the quality not seeming that great, we continued our search for a bean to cup machine under £500. We wanted to swap from capsules to stop the amount of unnecessary waste. We first came across the 4200 but opted to pay abit more over budget to get the 4300.We love the screen and easy touch buttons.Set up was so easy and we were getting drinkable coffees from the third cup. We haven’t adjusted the grind settings as manual recommends you do not touch that until it’s made at least 500 coffees, and I think I can now see why.Coffee is ... MoreAfter trying a different brand and returning that due to a fault and deciding not to try another due to the quality not seeming that great, we continued our search for a bean to cup machine under £500. It’s no louder than the previous machine we tried. The milk carafe is brilliant and well made. My only concern (if I had to find one) would be the little clip that releases the two parts could snap if someone is abit too heavy handed with it or if it was dropped. The machine is mostly plastic, but looks stylish, and looks well made. I hope we get many many years from this machine like we have with our nespresso. So far we are extremely please and would recommend any coffee lover to give this a go if you are looking for a fully automatic bean to cup machine that’s quick and easy
I love how there are different personal settings so my wife and i can make our preferred coffee with ease with one touch of a button.I love the design of the milk frother. Not having the standard tube running into the milk makes ease of cleaning and stops milk build up. The adjustment in strength of coffee has great range and in my experience takes a few cups to dial in to your preference. The one downfall (if i had to choose one) would be the noise. When grinding the beans especially it is quite noisey. But this is to be expected as i have yet to come across a totally silent machine. The pros definitely out way the cons and this machine will make you the perfect cup time after time just the way you like it. I initially wanted the Philips 5400 Series for its coffee travel-mug setting but it appears to be a discontinued model. Reviews and coffee video channels liked them and the orientation of their water tank and height matched what I needed. It wasn't the cheapest but the 4300 had the nice screen rather than a series of buttons on the lower models.Packaging was good and setup was relatively straightforward. The first cup of coffee wasn't coffee. Here's the rub. This machine takes a while to bed-in and only after 10 - 20 cups did I get what I would would describe as a coffee comparable to my spinny-pod machine. And this is not pod-machine simple. You have to experiment with all the various settings to get what you like. But this is why this machine it so good. You're not getting what a pod maker thinks is the coffee you'll like with not adjustment - you get the coffee you actually want. But it does take time and you have to stick with it. After 130 cups and using beans from a high street coffee chain I'm there and glad I made the change. As for the lack of coffee travel-mug setting, I just select the X2 setting and 400ml of tasty freshly ground coffee goes into my travel-mug.Weekly cleaning is straightforward. Although the water tank is the same size as my old pod machine, it does need refilling more often because the machine rinses when first switched on and again when it switches off. The Aquaclean filter also takes up room in the tank. But I do like the fact the filter reduces the need for descaling and there is a countdown to tell you when the filter needs changing. Only after using 8 filters do you need to descale.Overall it's giving me the coffee I love, quickly, cheaply and with style. A good investment which will pay for itself over the next year or two given the amount I was spending on all of those aluminium pods.
