I already have a number of Hue bulbs in the house; mostly standard bulbs which are functional and automated to come on a different times of day. This single filament bulb however adds an element of design to the room in addition to all of great Hue features. The effect would look even better with more than 1 filament bulb (ie several hung in a cluster). The effect would be probably be wasted under a large lampshade. In terms of installation; this was very easily added to my Hue system in a matter of seconds and now can be turned on/ off/ dimmed/ white colour changes and automated from my phone.

I have a few Philip Hue bulbs in the house but this one is meant to be seen. It has a lovely retro modern look to it. The lighting gradient is great, I prefer the warmer gradient. If your looking for a light with a difference this is the one.

Firstly impressions are this is a big bulb compared to some, about 16cm long. It's a bulb that's meant to be seen. It's got a pleasing design with the spiral filament but you'll need a good sized holder to put it in. It feels solid and well made. The bulb has added Smart functions and I was easily able to connect it to Alexa but just asking her to discover new devices once it was plugged in. It then shows up in the Alexa app which allows you to control the dimming or the colour temperature of the bulb. The colour can change from a warm to cool white. Very easy to use and the Alexa integration allows me to dim and change colour with my voice. There are also easy to follow instructions on the Philips App if you prefer to use that.
This was my first experience with a smart lightbulb and although it's something I don't need, it's now something I want in every room! It was easy to connect to Alexa using the QR code on the box. It found the bulb straight away and I am able to change the light settings as desired. The bulb itself is large and the vintage design is very attractive. If you update the ceiling cord to a modern black one I think these would look good without a shade. The dimmer function is very handy. I use this in my children's bedroom. I leave it on the lowest setting as a night light, then I can switch it off remotely once I know they are asleep. The energy rating is G which is a concern and possibly the only reason I wouldn't use them throughout the house. Great product and really easy to set up. I like how the bulb's filament gives it a modern, industrial look and now I think I need to invest in a new light fitting to better show it off! I use it with the HUE bridge and control it via the app to switch on/off and dim all from my phone! The light has a subtle warm tone to it which gives off a lovely warm glow if I turn it up to full brightness. I would definitely recommend this light!
I quite excited to try this bulb. Having used Edison bulbs in the past, I was excited to see how the bulb would sync up with the Lighting Bridge and what type of controls I would have.Design-wise, it looks great. The filaments stand out and glass looks slightly smoked. Easy to add bayonet bulb, but if you have a light cage like I do, it can be a little bit tricky with big hands.Once linked to the Lighting Bridge, bulb worked brilliantly. It allowed me to turn off or dim the lights from my bed as I wanted with the app. Although the app let me choose lighting scenes, but the the bulb can only produce one colour and it becomes a case of intensity.Overall, simple to install, easy to link to app and Lighting Bridge. Great eye catching design. Very impressed overall.
Perfect for my living room ceiling shade, It does help creating a warm look to the room. Specially at night when watching a movie, the dimmable option comes very handy. I do have the Philips Hue Bluetooth app already downloaded from previous Hue purchases and Philips Hue Bridge, so this was a great addition to my already smart light home. Extremely easy to set up the new light.
This bulb was the perfect alternative to getting a dimmer switch on our hallway lamp, where we don't always need the most light. It was really easy to set up with the App and worked a treat. I has 3x brightness settings and you're able to manually select the brightness from a sliding scale. We loved it so much, we bought the spotlights for the rest of our flat.
We've used this in our pendant light over our dining table. It was really easy to set up with our Google home speaker, setting up through the app in minutes. It now allows us to have our dining light on separate to our spotlights and it's the perfect ambient lighting. It gives off a warm white light, which really pops against our black wall, especially as it has the filament style in it too. We love how useful it is and we're now going to purchase more for the lamps around our house. Overall a really great, stylish and easy to use smart bulb!
