Bought this to replace another unreliable homekit sensor and have not had any problems with hue products. They just work and don't constantly disconnect like other brands. Downside is this is pretty expensive compared to alternatives.

I wanted a motion sensor that was responsive and configurable. The Hue does that. It can be configured for sensitivity and for length of time - anywhere from seconds to many minutes. It is also a light meter and a temp sensor which could be useful in home automation (I use it in Home Assistant). The only issue is that its mount does not allow for tilting. A swivel feature would be nice to better aim the sensor. There are cheaper sensors but this one - so far - is more reliable and consistent.

Great addition to my Smart Home. It was bought as a fun toy, and now I don't want to miss it. The magnet in the back means it can sit nicely above the floor as it sticks to the steel beams in the wall..no drilling required! The sensor is easily set up on the Hue App with different options. No more fumbling in the dark or being blinded if anyone needs the bathroom in the night...the Hue strip light up softly through the motion sensor. And no one needs to walk in a dark home anymore..lights come on as the door opens. Just a great device.

Not even 2 years old and not one but two sensor died of each other of only one week apart..let's not talk about the 3 spot lights I payed over $300.00 that died months ago and I called for almost 2 months with nothing but a headache. Try WYZE has the same things..example: price of 1 Philips bulb you can get 4 off WYZE .. I'm done being ripped off by this company and being treated rude by The supervisor Reuben. He'll tell you he'll call you back and never does I was on the phone yesterday for an hour and 15 minutes On hold finally I hung up and nobody called me back
I’ve got a home full of smart bulbs but as a renter, my options for switches etc are a little limited because obviously I can’t hardwire new switches just to stop my kids turning the lights off at the wall. I have some hue dimmer switches and they’re great but I put this sensor above the toilet and it’s PERFECT. Now I don’t even have to think about the toilet light, it turns itself on when I walk in and once it hasn’t sensed motion for a while turns back off and it all works before anyone even has a chance to absent mindedly reach for the switch. Well worth the money and I highly recommend it.
I thought I needed dimmer switches around the house for my Hue lights, but the motion sensor is by far the most useful accessory. Walk into a room - boom light. Leave the room, and let the lights turn themselves off (set your own timeout). With the "Don't disturb my scene" formula in Hue Labs, you can disable the motion sensor if you're watching a movie or something. Set each sensor to control a discrete group of lights and you can literally have light follow you around the house.
The HUE Motion detector has not missed a beat. Detection range is good, and I haven't had a false detection yet. The added temperature and luminance sensors provide additional information and functionality. Very reliable with Home Assistant with Zigbee (ConBee II)
We purchased 3 Phillips Hue Motion Sensors to help conserve energy in our home. All three sensors worked fine until one day one of the sensors quit. We went online to diagnose and try to fix the issue (replacing batteries, changing the zig channel, unpairing the sensor, resetting the sensor but nothing worked.) So now, we're stuck with this lump of plastic that'll end up in a landfill. Products like this should be built to last if for nothing else in the spirit of keeping these plastics out of landfills.
Provided hardcopy instructions could be more comprehensive. I had to google about setting this up in HomeKit to get more information. Very good (wide) field of view both vertically and horizontally that I have mounted it onto the ceiling instead off a wall, allowing the scanning around corners.
Once I got zigbee2mqtt up and running, it was super easy to pair up and get it talking with Home Assistant. Detection happens within 0.2 seconds on high sensitivity. The lux sensor is great for turning on the lights when it starts getting dim, without worrying about the sun angle and cloud coverage. A bit pricey compared to other brands but for main living spaces I think these are worth it.
