Once you realise you can iron denim and then silk one after the other you are amazed at how quickly you can do all your ironing. Lots of steam, and keep your fingers out of the way.The down side is the power lead is short and I had to use an extension. The instructions are very limited, you have to figure it out yourself.

Had the model before this one for 10 years and finally showed signs of issues…. Now upgraded to the new model. Works so much better and a bonus is it’s a “smart” iron working out its own settings for each garment. For longer life I recommend using R/O “very clean” water. Delivery and easy of purchase was excellent

I love these irons and I iron a lot of items. This is my 3rd one so far as I have worn them out over the years through over use.It gets to the right temp quickly and stays there. You never have to change temperatures depending on what you iron - you just iron everything.Refilling is easy and you don't have to wait for it to cool down before refilling.The iron itself is light weight so no straining your arm muscles.It irons everything perfectly with one pass of the iron and steam.The steam pressure is amazing.
Maybe our one is defective? There is a problem when it starts up. The first few items you iron will get wet as the iron dribbles water onto them. If you are ironing in a hurry for work or an event this is very annoying. Once it gets going it seems like a reasonable iron. It seems more efficient with steam than the tefal it replaced. Its very light in the hand and glides easily. The vertical steam function has been useful with a linen suit this summer.
Fantastic iron! Makes ironing husbands work shirts so much easier and faster. Lightweight means that my arthritis doesn’t play up either. Lots of money but well spent in my opinion. I don’t put off doing the ironing now. It is a pleasure!
I am truly amazed at the little effort I have to put into ironing when using the Philips steam generator. The creases fade ever so quickly and effectively cutting my ironing time down and having my clothes look like they have just come back from the dry cleaners. Also love the vertical steam option I have used for my curtains and evening wear. Fabulous once again Philips!
A really good steam iron however a couple of small issues for me. Firstly I dont like that you actually cant stand the iron up on the ironing board. I have been brought up doing that and it is very strange not to be able to do it. This is a personal opinion.Also the fact that it turns itself off if you walk away for a couple of minutes and then you have to wait 2 minutes for it to start up again before you can resume ironing.Apart from these two annoyances it is a really good iron with lots of steam. It does go through a lot of water compared to my old Tefal, but it does a really good job. It is also amazingly light to pick up which is great when you do a lot of ironing.Would I purchase this iron again? I personally Wasn’t a real fan of ironing but now as a father, there’s a lot more laundry and this Philips Steam Generator makes it real quick and easy to get the ironing done. Key word “quick”With a preschooler running around the house, I love the fact that the steam iron doesn’t get hot to touch, and has its own rest/holder with a lock function that I absolutely fell in love with and now highly recommend these safety functions.Also loved the fact that you can iron both vertically and/or horizontally, makes for quicker on the go jobs.Would definitely recommend for families or anyone looking for the easier ironing job.
I’ve been using the previous model for around twelve years until it recently died. Well this model has exceeded my previous model. Fantastic that you don’t need to set the temperature & it won’t burn any item if the iron is left on. I love the extra steam option…great for linen.
