The Philosophy "hope in a jar biome-balance glow serum" is a super lightweight hydrating formula that promises brighter, smoother, more even skin in a week. I haven't had the chance to use it that long yet, so here are my initial thoughts. -- Love the dropper and opaque jar. This product contains Vitamin C, so protecting from light will prolong efficacy. The dropper keeps the product safe from contamination -- just don't touch the dropper to your face, hands, or anything else. One dropperful of product is enough for my entire face and neck. -- This serum does not have any noticeable scent (even though the ingredient list does indicate fragrance) and is colorless. There is a slight tacky feel after applying, but it disappears in a few minutes. -- The top 3 ingredients in order of listing: water, glycerin, bis-peg-18 methyl ether dimethyl silane. I didn't know what that last ingredient was, so looked it up: silicone that is water dispersible. It makes the skin smooth and nice (emollient), moisturizes, helps to reduce tackiness, and also has some foam boosting properties. The list then includes a bunch of ingredients I'm not familiar with, but assume make up the prebiotic and AA2G formulation this serum boasts. Citric Acid and Hyaluronic Acid are near the bottom of the list. -- I would definitely say my skin feels hydrated, glowing, and plump after using this. Fine lines, especially around my eyes, seem improved. I do follow-up with an SPF moisturizer during the day and night cream at night. This product works well underneath both to boost hydration. -- After 2 days of morning and night use, I do agree with what the packaging says about "immediate positive impact" of 24-hr hydration, glow, smoothness, and skin barrier protection. I haven't used it long enough to experience the "sustained positive impact" of "long-lasting skin barrier protection."

My skin actually feels like it has a natural to my tone healthy glow and brightness to it after one weeks difference! Visually of course I’m familiar with my own skin and when I look in the mirror every day I take in even the most subtle details and I can see a difference after using Biome-Balance Glow Serum! I had never heard of AA2G prior to using the serum and upon looking into the ingredient I found that this is an enhanced version of Vitamin C, which made me extremely nervous because I have used cheaper skin peels in the past that highlighted Vitamin C as the main ingredient and even after using suggested moisturizers with SPF before going into the sun (or outside at all) I sustained visual physical damage to my facial skin and it made me wary of anything with that ingredient because of that incident. I know that this serum isn’t a facial peel and instead meant to hydrate but I immediately wasn’t sure if I wanted to try it after looking into the ingredients. I bit the bullet and tried it anyways and I’m happy to report my positive experience here!

Good Serum

This serum comes in a nice glass dropper bottle and is very watery-like in texture. It?s super light and applies non-sticky and absorbs/dries fairly quickly. During the time I tested this product, I did not use my regular vitamin C or hyaluronic acid products. I love skincare, so I have many different products that I use different times of the day/week and I often have many steps to my skincare routine? so, by adding this to my current regimen I did not notice any difference in my skin. I?m also not against trying this whole line (or other products from the line) of ?Hope in a Jar? as I only received one product from the line and I did like it but I don?t think I love it more than my current serum. It?s also fair to note that hyaluronic acid is 3rd from the last ingredient (meaning it contains more of everything else) and my current serum contains 5 hyaluronic acid?s well before the 3rd from last ingredient. So, for the money of a hyaluronic acid this one is sort of pricey considering where the HA falls on the label, but I digress (And I know it?s more than a HA). This product did not irritate my skin as it?s very sensitive or break me out.

Great for a dedicated routine

Overall, it's easy to apply, feels nice on the skin, and for my sensitive AF skin, it doesn't hurt or burn my skin like most products tend to. I ended up using that for cleansing and it pulled out a lot of impurities in my skin, so I got a few extra pimples. But I know that's actually very common! The fact that it took only a week for everything to get rid of some deep pimples I already knew were forming? That's amazing! My skin also feels much firmer and where my pimples aren't, my skin certainly feels so much smoother! The only reason I give a 4 out of 5 is because I personally do not abide a daily face wash routine because of my work schedule, and could not justify a process that takes 10+ minutes from my already tight morning schedule. Though... I'm not on mandatory overtime anymore. Maybe I'll keep my wakeup call and start adding on to it?

Anything philosophy is an automatic win but this blew everything out if the water! All you need is a couple drops but this is BEYOND good. I have had some experience with Philosophy products before, but mostly fragrance-filled products like mists, lotions, and body washes.
