Planetary Formulas Triphala Internal Cleanser is a potent yet gentle formula, designed to support the body's natural cleansing process. Michael Tierra learned about Triphala while studying Ayurveda in India, and subsequently introduced it to the United States. It has been one of the most important formulas of Ayurvedic herbalism for thousands of years. Used as a household staple throughout India, Triphala is a balanced blend of three Indian herbal fruits: harada, amla, and behada. This formula is unique in that the astringent qualities of the fruits serve to tonify the colon, thereby promoting internal cleansing naturally.

Good quality. Reasonable cost. Quick delivery. Effective ingredient in improving irritable bowel symptoms . This is also without causing distressing cramping. Easier to take than the Triphala powder which tastes rather ghastly. All in all a good supplement to take in conjunction with a high fiber high fluid diet. Have been using it for many years now.

Excellent!

As someone who has been struggling with digestive issues for years, I was excited to try Planetary Herbals Triphala. I had heard about the benefits of triphala, an ancient Ayurvedic herbal blend, and was eager to see if it would help ease my symptoms. After using it for a few weeks, I am pleased to say that I have noticed a significant improvement in my digestion. I no longer experience the bloating and discomfort that used to be a daily occurrence for me. I also feel more regular and my bowel movements are easier.

Great for bowel cleansing after SIBO

I had SIBO (Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth) several years ago. SIBO impaired Migrating Myoelectric Complex (MMC) of my small intestine. MMC is the housekeeping motor of the gut (series of electrical waves in the gut); it sweeps out the stuff we don’t want in there and moves it down to the colon where it can be excreted. With an MMC deficiency, SIBO sufferers have food, bacteria and waste sitting in their small intestines for longer periods of time.I had treated my SIBO by taking several rounds of herbal and pharmaceutical antibiotics and have been taking this product for several years now. 1 tablet before I go to bed. I take it during days when I eat unhealthy food. It helps to prevent SIBO from relapse. It works perfectly because it cleanses your bowels ... MoreI had SIBO (Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth) several years ago. I alternate it with another product from Iherb, Triphala with Mg oxide (fine laxative).

Great herbal blend for the GI
17 October 2022

I've been using Triphala for years to help ease the occasional congestion in my lower intestine. One tablet at bedtime is enough for the feeling of a natural bowel movement. (Of course one can increase the dosage if needed.) This Ayuverdic combination is gentle in the stomach and in the colon. IIn my experience, it is superior to many other herbal laxatives.

Great product.

I like this company, and particularily it's triphala preparations. I ordered the capsule form by mistake however. I decided to use them anyway, but found that they have only 500mg of the traditional triphala formula. I just take more, and they work the same as the 1000 mg caplets, which I usually purchase. If you have trouble swallowing large-ish pills, these Planetary Herbals Triphala Capsules may be a better choice that the larger caplets. The composition is basically the same and just as excellent. There is no taste that I can discern in this supplement.

I tried this stuff for ibs c. I read some of the side effects and I have them. I took only 2 pills that's instead of the recommended 2 pills 2-3 times a day. I took them at 1:30 pm. I still have spasms in my intestines 14 hours later at 3:30am. This stuff didn't do a thing. It caused some gurgling and that's it. Why a fruit supplement would cause bad spasms all the way around my entire gut for 14 plus hours is beyond me except if it has sorbitol in them.. I have a feeling these fruit supplements have sugar alcohols in them which people with ibs cannot take. Sorbitol and all the other sugar alcohols found in many fruits are a no no. The gut can't digest them when you have ibs. I'm pretty sure these fruits being from India have to have sugar alcohols in them just like ... MoreI tried this stuff for ibs c. I've been up literally 14.5 hours after taking these and could not sleep. I took nothing else today except water and white meat chicken all day so it's defiantly these. They were recommend by Doctor oz. and he obviously doesn't know what ibs people have to stay away from because certain things just ferment in our gut and sugar alcohol is one of them. Never again even if they were free. And they didn't clean my intestines out. They left me in pain a whole day with no other outcome.

Not true Triphala
9 March 2022

I bought this in Dec 2021 and have given it a good try. Does not act like Triphala. I finally read the ingredients and I see it is not the same ingredients as powdered Triphala which are three fruits: amla, haritaki and bibhitaki. This is chebulic myrobalan, amla, and belleric myrobalan fruits. I am very disappointed, as true Triphala is wonderful. These capsules barely gave me any digestive soothing.
