I can’t believe I’ve waited so long to use this stuff. Awesome and so much fun. Tips for best application and finish: let the cans sit in hot water for 10-15 prior to use and shake for several mins and continue shaking in between coats. Don’t use it under cold or windy conditions. You’ll be unhappy with the results. However, if you do mess up and not happy with the results, the best part is, you can easily peal it all off and try again. I repainted my rims of my pickup it took all of 4 cans easily. I found this product at my local home depot but i decided to buy from Home Essentials Direct, cheaper buy. I own a MINI Cooper and wanted to plasti dip the headlights and some chrome around it. Very easy to use, i looked online and found few good reviews about the product and how to use it. I recommend to clean very well the surface you want to plasti dip, and spray it 4 coats to actually make it stick properly. Give it about 10-15 minutes between each coat so it dries well and sticks to the surface. After i was done with the process i applied a coat of Performix 11209 Plasti Dip Clear (http://www.Home Essentials Direct.com/gp/product/B0006SU3QW?redirect=true&ref_=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_81) to seal everything and also it gives a shiny look. FYI if you apply it to any exterior part of your car, Wait two weeks before run it thru the car wash and even then I suggest you go to a touchless car wash or wash it yourself. After a month you should be 100% good to go. Review Update: I plasti dipped my car a little over a year now and it looks as new as it did when i first apply the product. I actually removed part of it to see if the dip was eating the chrome, I red online some people had trouble it that, but the chrome looked brand new, so i re applied the product and i can't tell the difference between the old plasti dip and the most recent one. I am going to try the Blaze orange next for my rear view mirror caps and see how it goes. One can was enough for the front grill of my car, 2 front & rear light cluster surrounds, times 4 coats and i still have plenty left!

I purchased this as an experiment. I needed a way to cover the sheet metal floor of a rabbit cage. The sheet metal floor corroded after being exposed to the rabbits waste even with regular cleaning. The floor was also difficult to clean as waste tended to stick to it. The bedding also slid around and out of the cage easily on the metal. I sanded the floor down and coated the metal with Plasti dip. Now cleanup is a breeze, nothing sticks to it, I just rinse it and everything comes off. The bedding stays put better and the floor is quieter. I will point out that I was careful to cover the wood parts of the cage before applying the plasti dip to prevent the rabbit from accidentally eating it, anyone with rabbits knows how they chew. Perhaps an unorthodox application ... MoreI purchased this as an experiment. I needed a way to cover the sheet metal floor of a rabbit cage. I've used plasti-dip on other projects and have gotten mixed results but it seems like the best option for making a remote control a little stickier to the touch. I recently bought a universal remote control and found that the back of the remote is VERY smooth, too smooth. The remote will easily slide out of my hand if my hand relaxes for a second while I'm searching for something to watch. I put 4 coats on this remote, only waiting 30 minutes between coats (per the directions). For reference, I gave the remote 3 to 4 passes per coat. I moved quickly, though. You should move the bottle with some alacrity (been waiting a year to use that in a sentence) so the liquid rubber doesn't pool up and look amateur. You should move the bottle with some alacrity (been waiting a year to use that in a sentence) so the liquid rubber doesn't pool up and look amateur. PRO TIP: Use a razor or sharp exacto knife box cutter and cut a line between tape and plasti-dip (where necessary). You can see in a couple of the photos that I didn't cut the line clean enough cuz the blade wasn't as sharp as I thought. Plasti-dip does stick relatively well. I'll update this review as soon as the plasti-dip starts to peel (eventually this peels from whatever I put it on). In the photos, I circled in red where I could've done a better job with the tape removal. There's gotta be something out there more durable than this stuff but it's so convenient to use that I'll probably buy more when this can runs out. I'd recommend it but be prepared to be let down (maybe you won't!). I hope this was helpful!

Painted winter steel rims with Plasti Dip
30 November 2021

Plasti Dip spray applies very easily, consistency is thicker than a traditional spray paint and is easy to control overspray without using a lot of masking. Matt black finish looks great on steel rims, it cured very evenly and it has an interesting rubbery texture to the touch. Biggest question is whether it will last, or if the wheel will rust again under the paint and disbond it.

I've done my motorcycle wheels in red, It took me a total of 2 cans of red and 1 can of clear per wheel, to get good coverage over dark blue. I've also sprayed black plastidip over my truck's chrome center caps, that took half of a can for four caps, and wasn't quite 100% covered. For the price, I don't typically recommend plasti dip, poor coverage, it's not very easy to clean, and it seems to stain easily as well.I guess to sum it up, I'd say if you want something permanent just use paint

When instructions are followed it works great. Nice finish, adheres to even chrome surfaces really well. Easy to remove if you choose to later. Also touch ups are fairly easy. I tried some competitors cheaper versions of this and quickly learned you get what you pay for. The competitor's product would run on vertical surfaces before it would cure enough to stick. The plasti dip went on much more evenly and clung much better without slipping off the surface.

So I blackout my FJ and these pics don’t even capture how awesome it looks. I did the mirrors, bumpers, decals and grill. I also did a hood bra with it. It took about 5 cans and this is really easy to work with. I have gotten so good at doing it and it is really forgiving product that can be peeled away from other areas and cleaned up with a soft towel after it dries. It matches the factory plastic perfectly so there is no huge color difference. I love the look of bringing it up the hood to mask the hood bra. Looks really sharp. Around the decals after drying, I used a wooden toothpick to get underneath and get a grip to pull. I believe it I get any chips later or peeling, I can just resptay that area easily. This stuff is AWESOME. I had knee socks and thigh highs that wouldn't stay up. After reading poor reviews of the plastidip made for fabrics I decided to try the clear original formula. It worked! I just turned the socks inside out over and pool noodle and sprayed the calf and knee portion with 2 to 3 light coats depending on the weight of the knit. So far the coating has held up to washing and drying (at least 3 times, it may wash off eventually). Also the coating didn't irritate my sensitive skin, in fact I didn't feel any difference when I put the socks on.
