Additionally, some users have reported issues with the controller's battery life, which may require more frequent charging than other controllers.Overall, the Sony PlayStation 5 DualSense Wireless Controller is an impressive piece of gaming technology that offers a more immersive and responsive gaming experience. While it may have some limitations, it is a worthy investment for anyone looking to take their PlayStation 5 gaming to the next level.

Where do I even start?Well, let me begin by sharing that I always found PlayStation better than Xbox and that was primarily because Sony has always done a better job than Microsoft when it comes to its exclusives. But I also consider myself PlayStation-centric and a genuinely enthusiastic supporter but not someone who is completely biased and is a blind fanboy. The one constant problem area for me with PlayStation was its controller. While Sony constantly did its best to upgrade its controller, in particular, its features with every next generation console, I personally feel they never quite got the design right as we advanced along. That’s where Xbox did a great job especially with the Xbox one controller, which was bigger, heavier and sturdier in contrast to Dualshock 4 which was smaller, lighter and of course needed more care. Xbox one controller had offset analog sticks as opposed to the symmetrical design of Dualshock 4, the preference of which I guess could vary from one gamer to another but yet looked classy. But times have changes now. With the evolution of consoles, Sony has finally listened to its fans and transformed the look of its controller. I was excited with the two-tone design, bulkier body and textured grip of the original Dualsense that comes with the console and just as I noticed that Sony didn’t color its trademark geometric shaped buttons, I started picturing just how good the black variant would look when it comes out eventually. It took a while for me to get my hands on this one and I have to say that it looks way more stylish and attractive than the original one. Also, not that the light-bar isn’t conspicuous on the original one because it is white but we all know that light glows and shines more prominently with the black background and when it does, it looks magnificent and majestic. It is no different with this spectacular midnight black controller. It has matte finish on its front body and touchpad and high gloss finish on its D-pad and Action buttons, a combination, which, in my opinion sometimes also looks like a prop from heavy budget sci-fi movie. I don’t think I even have to talk about the kind of immersive experience adaptive triggers, haptic feedback and its speaker provide as all PS5 owners would know that by now. However, if you ask for recommendation on this variant of Dualsense, I feel every hardcore PlayStation fan should buy this one as they won’t regret it.Absolute masterpiece.

I purchased the Starlight Blue Dualsense controller to supplement the primary controller included with the PS5 as I have always liked having a second contoller for longer game sessions. As a PS4 owner I absolutely hated the DualShock controller after coming from the Xbox 360 controller - best controller made to this point, in my opinion - but the DualSense has been a bit of a revelation. I'll break down the "pros" and "cons" as I see them. Firstly, Pros: Ergonomics are easily the best of any first party PS controller to date and is very comfortable to use for extended periods; Fit and finish is very good with no rough or sharp edges and no creaks or rattles; Battery life is good as I've seen up to 20+ hours before getting the low battery warning; Charge times are ... MoreI purchased the Starlight Blue Dualsense controller to supplement the primary controller included with the PS5 as I have always liked having a second contoller for longer game sessions. Secondly, the Cons: Price. $95 + tax is just too much for a console controller, period; Durability and longevity are a concern as I've read and been told about significant issues with stick drift rendering controllers useless within a year; I've already noticed a change in button feel after only three months but can't say if this is simply break-in or a potential future issue; and, The controller mic is on by default which is a questionable privacy practice, in my opinion, but can be disabled via the console settings. Ultimately, you don't have many controller alternatives for PS5 unless you're willing to spend well over $200 for a third party controller from Scuf, etc so I can't say whether or not the DualSense controller is recommendation worthy or not. That said, if you need or want a new PS5 controller and are looking for something other than the customary black or white the Starlight Blue is an aesthetically pleasing first party option.
I actually bought this Open Box and I've been eyeing a PS5 controller for awhile since I tend to play games on my iPad. I don't have a PS5 console at all, but I debated between getting this controller or a PS4 controller due to the uncertainty if iOS supported DualSense. The controller itself is pretty great! I like the matte finish on it, the color, and the battery life works well. I was using it for about 3 hours straight while playing on my iPad and it was only after maybe around the third hour, it began to stop functioning for bit before needing to charge it again. Since I don't have a PS5 console, I can't say for sure what the quality is like there, but it would probably be about the same quality as when I play on my iPad. Since I don't have a PS5 console, I can't say for sure what the quality is like there, but it would probably be about the same quality as when I play on my iPad. The analog sticks are smooth as well as the buttons, and the feel is very ergonomic, probably compared to if I was using a PS4 controller, which is a bit smaller for my hands. I was having issues with my hands feel sore and numb after playing on iPad after awhile, so I decided to drop $60 (Open Box) and I haven't gone back to playing on my iPad the old-fashioned way. Overall, even if you don't have a PS5 console, but you think the controllers look aesthetically pleasing and tend to play games on your PC or iOS device, I highly recommend buying this controller.
The Dualsense is a very nice controller, the ergonomics and overall feel of the controller is overall nicer than the Dualshock 4. The buttons, sticks, size, and everything feels great and the battery life is a bit longer than the DS4 despite the haptics. The haptics also feel great and can add a lot of immersion depending on how the game uses it. When it's used well it's really cool, when it's not it dosen't really add much and can just make your fingers tired. Though the intensity of the haptics can be toned up or down, which is really nice. Ive been using the controller from this purchase for about 3 months. Overall, it's great but the jury's still out for me on the overall quality of the make. Ive been using the controller from this purchase for about 3 months. Overall, it's great but the jury's still out for me on the overall quality of the make. I had to get this controller as a replacement for the controller that came with my PS5 which only lasted 9 months before unplayable stick drift hit the right stick, this did happen during a storm that fried the charging cord (despite surge protection) so I think it's something that was caused by a power surge but there's still a chance this was a coincidence and stick drift may be an issue for this new controller. Hopefully not. I'm pretty caring of my controllers, In my 23 years of gaming, I've only had stick drift in 3 controllers. One of these three being the previously mentioned dualsense. So hopefully this dualsense lasts, but it remains to be seen if this is built better than the dualshock 4 in terms of longevity. That uncertainty is the only thing keeping it from 5 stars, as well as, the price. While it is a good controller, it is a bit expensive. Especially if the anolog stick drift wasnt caused by the storm and this controller ends up having stick drift. If the latter is the case than it is certainly not worth the price.
Just writing this to say that the color of the nova pink controller is not accurate in the advertising. The color is actually much closer to the cosmic red variant.Edit: After using the controller for roughly 300 hours of Rocket League, I have run into some issues. Comparing this to my previous controller, an XBOX One wireless, I can say the sticks feel worse. The thumb domes are convex instead of concave, for grip this seems inferior. The sticks are also more stiff, making slight adjustments feel a bit slower. I got somewhat used to this over time. The triggers are significantly stiffer and shorter, also not helping the precision, but not too bad. What got me to come back for this review is the TERRIBLE wireless performance. Whereas the XBOX controller did perfectly, with virtually no issues, the PS5 controller was consistently laggy and even lost connection multiple times per match, which happened much more frequently if the controller was held with any obstruction in the way. I'm going to have to plug it in or get a new controller. Either way, terrible.
Too much black. I love when the blue light kicks, but it really should have had some indigo blue lines here and there, would have given it a feel of night when you get some moon glow that gives kind of a blueish tint to the world. I wish I had paid more attention and checked for alternative colours as the Galactic Purple is great, but too much purple. Some trim with distinct colours would go very well aesthetically. It's too overpowering and too simplified. Otherwise it's a nice finish, good feel, but then the PS5 controller has a nice weight to it, a good exterior feel, the triggers are vastly superior to the Dualshock (I especially love the range of pull).Again, given just HOW cool it looks with the blue light, I'm hoping Sony pays attention to reviews...BLUE ... MoreToo much black. It's almost great, almost. The price was good. However I will say that PS5 controllers are known to break down faster. This current newer gen is better than the original, so I'm more confident I'll get at least 2, maybe as many as 4 years out of it, but I do wish I would see the 5 years my PS4 controller has lasted (and still going strong), and my old PS1 and 2 controllers are still functioning perfectly. At least it's not going to die in 1 year.
This review follows from my original DualSense controller (that came with the PS5 on launch day) all of a sudden losing input on the down d-pad button, essentially forcing me to buy a new DualSense, since no one seems to want to fix it (and that includes Best Buy/Geek Squad). However, coming from the original launch day white model, I feel like this Midnight Black DualSense is a much better product. I believe there may be subtle tweaks that have been made in the newer color models (i.e., better trigger haptics, buttons being a bit clickier, etc.) that make it superior to the original, but I will also say that the color is great, and I prefer it to the white. While the black might not match how the original console looks (without black faceplates), it is a better color because it does not collect dirt/sweat/random hand secretions in the back textured crevices (at least that is visible). My big complaint with the original white was that no matter how clean your hands were, the back of the controller eventually got dirty. The black color seems to avoid this issue for the most part, and that alone makes it worth getting over the standard white. All in all, it's not a PlayStation without a nice black controller, and this one does the job very well. Hopefully the buttons will last on this one for longer than a year and a half.

The Cosmic Red finish is both eye-catching and durable, ensuring that my controller maintains its striking appearance even after extensive use. The buttons and triggers feel solid and responsive, giving me confidence in the controller's longevity. However, the most impressive aspect of the PlayStation 5 DualSense Wireless Controller is the immersive haptic feedback. The controller brings the action to life in the palms of my hands, simulating in-game actions and environments in a way that no other controller has been able to achieve. The dynamic adaptive triggers add another layer of realism, providing unique resistance based on the game's context, making my gaming experience more engaging and immersive than ever. The built-in microphone is a fantastic addition, allowing me to chat online with friends and fellow gamers without needing a separate headset. And when I do prefer using a headset, the 3.5mm jack makes it easy to connect directly to the controller. In conclusion, the Sony PlayStation 5 DualSense Wireless Controller in Cosmic Red has been a game-changer for me. Its excellent ergonomics, material quality, and ground-breaking haptic feedback have made my gaming sessions more enjoyable and immersive than I ever thought possible. I highly recommend this controller to any PlayStation 5 owner looking to enhance their gaming experience. Thanks to BestBuy for offering this fantastic product!
