Far better tight accurate bass response & acoustics with far much less distortion than the older garbage Polk PSW10 that has awful terrible port noise, poor cabinet design, junk subwoofer, sloppy inaccurate weak bass & a cheap older style constantly overheating amp. You want a great sub to add to your awesome 4K Sound Bar or Surround System this is the ultimate sub to get for the money hands down. Mines in my 16x20 living room & it sound amazing. 10 ā's

I've just received this sub-woofer and enjoyed a wonderful dimension of sound that I've been missing. The bass offered is very clean and tight. Setup is a breeze with the easy to follow instructions. The sub offers two ways of connecting your current sound system it so that it can accommodate virtually any existing sound configuration The matted black finish is very tasteful and easy to implement in any situation. First off I'll say that for the bang for buck its a great sub, sound is great for the price. Now for the not so great, You will never be able to use the sub to its FULL potential because of a serious design flaw. You are limited to how much power you can make this sub produce because the air tube diameter is a little to small for the amout of travel the sub is capable of, in other words at high levels the hole is too small to alow all the air pressure to escape causing a un wanted sound from the tube. This was proven once the back plate was slighten removed to allow for more air to escape during high volumes resulting in excellant sound.

So I wasn't certain what to expect. I listen mostly to hip hop and some metal. It's a very solid subwoofer at lower volumes, really has a kick and keeps up with the fastest beats... However once you start to turn it up to "feel" the bass it starts to show it's weakness. The air flow feels restricted, it becomes very noisy and impossible to ignore. If your goal is HARD loud, neighbours house rattling bass with this subwoofer, your going to have a bad time. If you want good sound, performance and reliability for a fair price, or you live in an apartment and can't turn it up anyways (Boourns!) you have found the right subwoofer. Needed a simple sub for medium sized room to compliment 5.1 basic surround set up. Perfect bass response to compliment this system. Also bought polk audio Psw-125 which is their much bigger 12 inch 300watt. I only kept one sub but wanted to compare them. It was 3 times the price and did not surpass the psw-108 at all. In fact, I found the smaller sub was more articulate and was not overpowered by its 'bigger' brother. I returned the psw-125 and am keeping this one. Very good buy and sound!
I bought this sub for a little under $100 at Best Buy about three years ago and just sold it to a buddy last night still bumping like new!! If your new into the audio world this isnāt a bad route to go at all, the only issues I seem to noticed was the built in amp got a pretty hot but it never seemed to affect it. The port also gets a distinct sound when ur playing it really loud. Thereās nothing else to complain about with this sub. One of the best bangs for your buck!
Works perfectly with the L100 bookshelf set. I have a Rotel A12 and use the preamp out to control the subwoofer.I wish I could register it, but my login fails and the forgot password button doesn't do anything. Since my email is 'already used', I am effectively blocked from the Polk www.
Amazing subwoofer. This is the best subwoofer I've ever owned and I've had a lot. By better I mean better then the polk psw 125,111,505 and dsw 440...here's the trick to making the 108 sound great at high volume and stop the port noise completely, here's how. Take the plate amp off then inside covering the port is a mettel cross guard covering the port take this off by removing two screws....that's it put the plate amp back on then no more port noise at any volume....you won't believe it tell you try it and what your left with is one great sounding little sub!!!
This speaker is only rated at 50 watts RMS per channel, using both RCA inputs it is actually 100 watts per channel, more than enough power to fill a 20 by 30 foot room with room shaking bass. I have to turn the gains down about halfway to balance it out with my television, which is rated at 45 watts per channel. At this setting there is absolutely zero distortion; just clean, tight, solid bass! Amazing reproduction of sound at a fraction of the cost of the higher end models.
Ordered this online when it was on sale New Year's Eve. Connected it to a Pioneer VSX-804 with some old Technics book shelf speakers. I used both of the Pioneer's 2 sub outs to both of the sub's 2 inputs. Using the volume and low-pass frequency knobs on the back I was quickly able to find a good balance with the existing speakers. Setting the power switch on the back to the middle activates the auto-on/off feature. There is an LED that glows red when it is off and green when it is on. At first I didn't think the auto-off was working, but it takes a few minutes to turn off after the amp is turned off. The bass is very nice for only being a 10" speaker. It sounds great even at higher volume levels. So far, it has not disappointed!
