The beautiful Reserve R600 floorstanding loudspeaker offers dynamic and full-bodied sound. With dual 6.5” urbine cone woofers, a 1” Pinnacle tweeter, and Power Port 2.0, the R600 perfectly balances sonic impact with rich and detailed audio. The Pinnacle Ring Radiator Tweeter’s distinctive pointed shape guides the dispersion of high frequency sounds around the room. This innovation widens the sweet spot and allows you freedom to enjoy your music and movies wherever you choose to sit. The pioneering turbine design delivers a significant increase in cone rigidity without increasing mass. This means the woofer can move with increased accuracy and speed to deliver enhanced sound resolution and a breathtaking level of detail.Polk’s new Power Port 2.0 is the latest version of their successful Power Port technology. In addition to Power Port’s carefully engineered port design that smooths the flow of air as it exits the cabinet through the port, X-Port adds a set of closed-pipe absorbers that are specifically tuned to unwanted cabinet and port resonances. Together, these two technologies combine to function as Power Port 2.0 to deliver smooth, detailed audio. Combined with dual 8” woofers, you’ll get louder, cleaner bass while minimizing turbulence and port noise.Reserve’s sleek cabinetry is carefully cross-braced to eliminate unwanted interior resonances. Rounded exterior corners help disperse sound broadly around the room with minimal diffraction, creating an open sound stage.

These are some really wonderful speakers. I auditioned literally dozens of speakers from Polk, Klipsh, Energy, B&O etc. Some of the ones I tested were 10 times the price of these Polks and even excluding price considerations, these were the best I heard (I even enjoyed them more than the more expensive Polk LSi Series). In the past, I would have said that I prefer loudspeakers with a more rounded, mellow, laid-back sound as opposed to ones that are a bit more forward and precise, but the RTi A7s changed my mind. They are not at all harsh or bright, and while they are very precise, they're not at all fatiguing to the ear. And, while you're not buying speakers to look at them, you'll be happy with the real wood finish and superb craftsmanship of the cabinets as well.Of course, sound quality is somewhat subjective, so you should listen for yourself if you can. However, there's a good reason why these speakers are sold out and back-ordered all across the country: they're really that good. If you can actually get your hands on them, I don't think you'll be disappointed.Just for reference: I use these about 70/30 for music/TV. I have an Onkyo 876 powering these speakers and have them paired with the Polk MicroPro 1000 Sub, Polk CSi A4 Center and a set of Polk RTi A3s for the surrounds. You don't have to source all your speakers from one manufacturer or series, but the Polks are all "timbre-matched" to ensure seamless sound. (Speakers have "accents" and in some cases--particularly with the fronts and the center channel--mix-and-match speakers can sound harsh). Hope this is helpful.

Using these as front and rears, with R350 as center and, R900 for height front and back. They are being powered by a Denon x4700H. They sound good and produce a wide sound stage while being clear. The bass response is quite good as well... I do believe that they will be helped by an amplifier. For the price... you will definitely not find a better value. I would highly recommend them for home theater use. They are on the warmer side for sound signature and do well for music, without becoming too fatiguing.

So I bought the R600’s after a friend let me audition the R500’s in my room. Mine is a difficult room which simply swallows bass frequencies at the 30 Hz range and below. The R500’s nearly broke thru, but once again, the room was problematic. The R600’s however, finally achieved my version of audio nirvana without the use of a subwoofer. I’m of the opinion that you should select the best performing speaker for your room that you can before entertaining low end sub support. Great speaker. I love the overall sound and the overall range is quite impressive. These disappear easily and image fantastically. I’m very delighted, and have waited a long time for a Polk speaker of this caliber. Very good speaker

I had a pair of 20 yr old klipsch Reference speakers which I wanted to retire when came across the R600. I had read good reviews but did not know how they sounded, finally decided to go for them and I have No regrets whatsoever. The speaker sound very clean with music and movies.

Very good, extraordinary value
12 December 2022

The Polk R600 produces a stunning soundstage with strength, detail, and finesse. It is not over or undercooked in any frequency band in my listening room, and sounds better than speakers costing multiples more. These speakers are musical and very fun to listen to. I can only imagine how good the R700 must sound, given how wonderful these are. Running hi def digital (24/192) or Fluence RT85 into an Audiolab 6000A through Nordost Super Flatlines, which is a wonderful combination. 4 stars for being about as good as it gets for relatively short money.

[Rewarded Review] Look, Feel, and Sound worth the cost

I have been a Polk fan for as long as I can remember. These were an upgrade to a very long running pair of Polk Monitor 60 Series II, replaced in the Front L/R positions. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the M60's, I just wanted to upgrade and see if Polk could improve upon a sound that was still excellent after many years.Polk managed to do it. Starting from just the unboxing experience it was like no other. The boxes are top quality and look sleek, overpacked to the perfect degree, down to the speakers that were wrapped in a black cloth bag, sealed at the bottom with a heart sticker. The design is aesthetically pleasing, and cabinets feel study and well designed. Magnetic grills are a lovely touch with the perfect amount of gripping force. The woofer and tweeter are works of art. These things are all easy to improve on, but how about the sound? These Reserve speakers fit right into a classic Monitor series set like they are right at home. The timbre matching was perfect. Ran a few tests, and the tone of the Reserve speakers sounded identical to the Monitor Series II. They operate quite well on my old Onkyo TX-NR787. Feels like they can drive louder than the Monitors. The Monitors have 5.25” woofers so the R600 upgraded the fronts to 6.5” woofers. Although 1 less driver, there was an obvious improvement in low end bass and sound quality. I was pondering going with the next line up that had 8” woofers but was concerned about power handling on my Onkyo. I’m glad that I went with the R600’s. The 6.5” woofers are doing an impressive job of filling in the space that the LFE wasn’t present for in movies. The Pinnacle Ring tweeters speak for themselves, and present a new richness and range in the highs that are an obvious improvement over the Monitor Series II.I recommend the Reserve series if you are looking for a premium line that is still fairly reasonable on pricing.
