I am amazed at how much more immersive the music is from these speakers.Could not ask for more. My amplifier is 100w and easily drives them.Lots of deep bass and the middle and treble are perfect.I have not heard music this good.

Where to start? First, the genre I enjoy is Classic Rock, from the vinyl and cassette era. I listen to music in stereo mode. I read reviews across for these speakers and found myself working hard to distinguish between legitimate and objective reviews and those focused on the price of the speakers. From the standpoint of improved sound quality, I cannot say enough, I shopped these and equivalent from Martin Logan, Bowers and Wilkins and KEF at price points much higher than Polk. The clarity, you can close your eyes and almost see the drummer's sticks striking the symbols. It's very close to having them in my Living Room. Sound Stage is very broad with a variety of sitting positions available and no loss of sound quality - some of the premium Martin Logans I listened ... MoreWhere to start? I have the black finish, which looks similar to a grey slate monolith - gorgeous. Speaker grills are magnetic, and I'm torn between leaving the grills on or off - they are beautiful. When moving to home theater mode, I debate between setting the crossover to funnel the lows to the subwoofer or leaving the low end at the R700s. The bass is "that good," but if you need to feel Godzilla or hear the Tyrannosaurus Rex in Jurassic Park - leave it to a powerful subwoofer - bottom line, you don't need a subwoofer with these. Feed them some power - I have mine bi-amped and I feel it boosts the clarity. I haven't had them long, so they're not fully broken in yet, but I really enjoy them to this point, I can close my eyes and see the band. They're the perfect match for the music genre I listen to most as well as my home theatre likes. I have better sound vs. the competition and spent less. Can't beat that...

I've been using Polk speakers since 1983. I've had Polk towers for my front L&R since 2000. After switching them out for the R700's, there was a noticeable improvement on the high end. Much cleaner sounding due to the improved tweeters. Bass is also strong and tight. I've listened to these for music in direct mode, along with stereo and multi-stereo in my 5.1 system. They sound excellent! Also have listened as i watch movies in Dolby digital mode. Crisp and clean sound. If you're in the market for new speakers, consider the Polk Reserve line, as they are fine sounding speakers.
POLK !!! What's more to say ?? POLK RESERVE700 are a Perfect match with my Polk Lsim705 speakers!!!! The Ring Tweeter is absolutely awesome!!! Turbo cone midrange!!! OMG !!! Fantastic right out the box!! 2.0 under speaker bass port,Polk did it again !!! My favorite is Polk speakers and I have had many over the past year alone!!! Highly Reccomend to anyone who wants Perfect Towee speakers without breaking your bank!!!!
I highly recommend the Polk R700s; the value is exceptional. A Music Fidelity M5si powers the speakers easily and in my listening space 45% power will push the speakers to 80 dB or so. As a full range frequency system, the bass presence brings a body to the music I had not experienced in a bookshelf pairing. The speakers are articulate, express different musical genres gracefully, capture detail and texture across frequencies, and maintain a 3D soudstage. A relatively flat frequency reponse doesn't color the sound (see other reviews online) presenting a neutral and natural sound. The speakers are enjoyable at lower listening levels but require power to push the woofers if you want to feel the bass.

I owned the rti9’s initially, their is no comparison. The r700 blows them away. With or without an amp. Had to have an amp with the rti’s before those speakers soynded adequate. Its the lows and highs on rhe r700 that truly outshines the rti. I own the lsi series center and surrounds and the r700 sounds timbre awesome with them.
I originally had the Polk Reserve R200 bookshelf speakers. I loved the sound, but I wanted to go bigger. I went with the Reserve R700's. Absolutely mind-blowing. These speakers are everything I could have hoped for in a 2 channel music setup. The only slight issue (not worth removing a star), is that the speakers arrived and had some strange white residue on both 8" drivers on both speakers. I took a lightly damp microfiber cloth and very gently cleaned the drivers. It came off with zero issue.I highly recommend these speakers.
These speakers are beyond what I imagined they have great highs good lows and the mids are not harsh berry neutral to warm sound. Not a harsh sharp speaker. They come rated at 8,6,4 ohms but tests show these are 4ohm speakers. So get some good power to them to wake them up. They were delivered on time and with no issues. Be careful unboxing the ring radiator tweeter is sharp and could either be bent or broken so be gentle and enjoy these immaculate speakers.
