With portable devices these days not coming with a stereo port, I had to opt for a headset with a USB jack. Plantronics is a reliable brand, so why not. I've used this mic in lengthy audio/video meetings in pretty noisy environments and the receiving end never complained about external noise disturbances despite the fact that there was a lot going on around me. Very convenient and it's just plug-and-play. No installation required so you don't have to bother your IT person.

Sound quality is quite good; not as good as a music focused headset, but quite listenable for Youtube videos or gaming. Very nice for streaming with the long term comfort for wearing. Inline volume control and mute button work with WebEx and other conferencing apps. This headset does not have sidetones (hearing your voice in the earpieces) but as it is not noise blocking, you can hear your own voice just fine and modulate your volume.As it's not noise blocking or noise cancelling, it's not suited for an open office floor plan or working from home in a communal area (kitchen etc.), but in your own office ... I've had these since 2016 and they've held up very well. Strong usage throughout Covid workplace safety measures in both verbal only and video meeting formats. These are simple plug and play into all USB port devices. Many colleagues/associates have commented on the quality (clear, smooth,) on the other end. With two earpads, nothing gets missed. No need to spend more if you are looking for something 'to get the job done'.After 2.5+ years of 8-12hr days, the donut pads are showing wear and time to look for replacement earpads/donut style. The rest of the headset remains bullet proof/solid.
I only use Plantronics Blackwire headsets. I know there are others, and they may or may not be superior, but Plantronics works, and that is what I need to be able to count on. The last pair (a higher end model) had to be replaced when the earpads simply had degraded to much for them to be comfortably worn. I know the ear pads can be replaced, but I elected to simply try to find an inexpensive headset and go with brand new. This fit the bill, and had more than done the job. Again, I cannot really compare to other brands, so it is hard to speak in relative terms (are these good? compared to what?). What I know is that Plantronics Blackwire headsets work...Windows compatible, clear sound, etc. They do the job.

You will hear your dog barking but your customers won't, so if you need to knock down environmental sounds so you can hear, this is not that solution. What imakes this a great product is reliability and an excellent noise canceling boom mic. The type of microphone that rejects sounds coming from a distance, but is very sensitive to sound sources that are close (i.e. your mouth) Comfort note, almost any headset that is touching your pinna (ear) will become noticeable after an hour or so, but just removing it for a short time really helps. I often forget to take it off after a call. There are more expensive solutions, but the quality of the noise canceling boom mic makes this a winner and it is very affordable at under $50. Beware that not all boom mics are great at noise reduction and just saying noise reduction doesn't always mean they work well. This one is. devil is in the details! It will best any non-boom headset period, ignore marketing claims in terms of noise reduction IMO. Even the $400 dollar boom-less ones! I've designed them for pilots and know it's easy to screw up boom mics noise canceling performance but they didn't. Also, having made products with a lifetime warranty, I get frustrated at wires breaking at the first or second tug and sending it to landfills. I can say that using this product for over a year now, pretty much daily for work, it is holding up very well, like new, and Plantronics understands cord reliability issues and how to make them last. Highly recommended for Zoom/Teams calls, but mono, so get a stereo Plantronics headset version for >2x the price if you care. Portland Mike
For the price your paying, the product itself is sufficient. The build is made of a hard enough plastic and the earphones rests comfortably on my ears, the microphone is clear and people on the other end had no issues with it. Also, it is important to remember that these are "On-ear Headphones." and not "Over-ear Headphones." So, using it for a couple of hours. I did feel some discomfort. Nowadays you can buy gaming headphones with better mics and surround-sound audio for under $100. So, poly needs to step-up and match the level of competition out the. However, the product itself is dependable, But could be a little bit more economical.

A) The top of the headphone could use a small padding for long term use and B) There is no auxiliary option for me to plug into my PS5 remote.Now fortunately the sound quality from the headphones are extraordinary 5 out of 5 for what appears to be a very light and simple headset. The amount of full spectrum sound...Believe it or not even BASS is impressive along with he sound quality from the microphone into the other side.
