Reading the blurb on the box, and talking to Bunnings staff who recommended Pope, this appeared to be a good product but it turned out to be impossible to assemble. The problem was not the logic of putting the parts together but rather the lack of strengh and alignment in the design, that meant that the parts did not line up correctly and the lock-in tabs ended up breaking in the final attempts of assembly. I had to go back to Bunnings late in the afternoon to get a refund but fortunately I found a much better, product - the Gardena CleverRoll M Metal, more costly, but which luckily ws already assembled. Hose reel holds decent length of hose however within a few months of ownership light rust appeared on support bracket, following by inner hose support continually disconnecting. Poor over inner support design. I have subsequently araldited and screwed together. Expensively for what is essentially a poor quality item.

This hose reel is an absolute waste of money, do not buy. I'm reading some of the other reviews here, and they sum up my experience - it keeps falling apart and is very flimsy. It's rated to handle a 35m hose, yet it can't accommodate our 25m hose without jamming and falling apart. If I could give it minus-1 million stars, I would

We had a 30 m plus long unwieldy hose lying on the garage floor. You must put the reel together carefully following instructions and checking diagrams, to make sure it clicks together properly. Now the hose rolls out and rewinds easily. A cheap but effective and neat solution. And it’s portable for storage over winter.
Purchased 2 years ago.About a year ago it started having issues. Same as other reviewers, doesn't hold the weight and has come apart. Have been unrolling the hose and trying to realign the pieces, but keeps happening. Need to get another. Disappointing considering this is meant to be 'premium'.
I brought the so called " Premium" Pope hose reel about 6 months ago. The only premium thing about this reel is the price. I have used the reel 7 times during which the cylinder has popped out 4 times. The reel is made from cheap plastic and does not fit together correctly. Absolute waste of money. I am taking my reel back for a refund.
I bought this product 5 months ago mainly because it days premium thus it should have better quality than the cheaper ones however my experience wasn’t that good. It works but it is not structurally sound. The parts that holds the reel together keeps falling apart. I tried to use zip ties to hold them together however a fee days later it will fall apart again. I wish I could get my money back because its a waste. I dont recommend this product at all so please consider a better option.
The frame is terrible and the winding mechanism broke. Really unhappy. The 1 star is also for Bunnings who should not continue to sell products that consistently receive such poor reviews on their products.
This reel has been non stop trouble since I bought it 2 weeks ago - I will be returning it. The plastic is not strong enough to hold a 15m hose and it says it can take a 30m hose. It broke on day 2 so I took it all apart thinking it must be me as I’d paid good money for what I thought was a good brand. Put it back together and had the same issue within days. Have also had issues with the base leaving rust marks on my tiles - after 2 weeks!! I bought this reel the same day I bought another Pope cart reel for my Mum and it was boxed with an incorrect part. Never again will I buy Pope.
I regret having purchased this product.In short, the design and quality is woeful. The plastic tabs do not hold, the frame is forever falling apart. The product is incapable of bearing the load of a domestic garden hose - not ideal when you are a garden hose reel.I would add photographs if the reel was not buried at the bottom of my recycle bin. Hopefully it will be of use, in another form, once recyled.Do not waste your money - I don't believe this product should be on sale at Bunnings. Nor anywhere else for that matter.
