This espresso machine is incredible! The shots that it pulls are complex and well balanced. The dual-hole steam wand and valve are high quality and the steaming experience overall is quick, easy, and consistent. I am always more than satisfied with the drinks this produces. Having the fine tune controls that this offers is such a steal for the pricetag too. The PID is easy to use and the pressure control with gauge is yet another feature that makes this machine stand out. Not to mention, the PID converts to a timer when pulling a shot! And lastly, the build quality is incredible (the buttons are very satisfying, btw). This machine is sturdy and most of all, beautiful! I’ll start by saying at the nuts and bolts level, this machine pulls consistently amazing shots. The quality of espresso is amazing. That said the machine has a few drawbacks that definitely are not deal breakers, but worth calling out.-No autoshot timer. For the rookie upgrading(like I was), this wasn’t a huge win for my wife.-No visible water tank level. You’ll have to keep it topped off and remove the loose stainless steel cover to fill up(careful it’ll scratch)-removing the drip tray will give you goosebumps with the way the mirror stainless steel finish scratches against each other.-ensure you give the buttons a good press to click into place, the buttons can feel like the pressure isn’t evenly distributed across the face of the button.-no preinfusion ... MoreI’ll start by saying at the nuts and bolts level, this machine pulls consistently amazing shots. Great Single Boiler Espresso Machine For The Price

The Profitec Go replaced our Gaggia Classic Pro, which we bought about 3 years ago from Whole Latte Love.Compared to the non-modded Gaggia Classic Pro, the Profitec has almost everything you need to make your coffee taste perfect: An easily adjustable OPV valve, a brew pressure gauge, a PID, a shot timer. Plus fantastic build quality all around using thick stainless steel construction. (It's the same frame as a ECM Casa V and shares quite a lot of similar internal components with Casa V, for example, boiler, shower head, shower screen, drip tray, water tank, reservoir cover etc.)The machine is able to heat up in less than 4 min for couple shots of espresso, and an additional 2 min for steaming, make your morning espresso routine complete in less than 10 min. If you hook the machine to a smart outlet, you'll be able to remotely turn the machine on for preheating even before you get out of bed. It's not without issues though, upon arrival, the shower head gasket is crushed and the machine produced inconsistent brew and exhibited weird channeling issues. Whole Latte Love sent a replacement gasket right-away to fix the issue. The drip tray is the same volume as the Gaggia Classic Pro, which is not very big, even though the top surface area is larger. It also gets really hot if you just purged water from boiler so be careful of your hands. There is also no automatic pre-infusion, you can do it manually, however, it's cumbersome and almost not worth the time unless you are brewing using some light roast beans. When you setup the machine for the first time, the pump will be really loud and the machine will be very noisey when the boiler is empty. After initial fill, the machine gets much quieter, and operates quieter than our old Gaggia Classic Pro.I would recommend this machine if you are the kind of guy who likes to play around with lots of different kind of specialty beans, PID temperature and Pump pressure. Otherwise, stick with Gaggia Classic Pro, as it produces just as delicious espresso as the Profitec Go and costs half the price.

Has yet to work
1 December 2023

I have been a 20 year customer of Whole Latte Love. No one is a bigger fan. But three weeks into having this machine it has yet to make one single shot of espresso. In that time, I have been on the phone with tech and customer support a dozen times, sent videos, shots of the back of the machine and a million tests. The result is I have no way of making it work. Promises of getting back to me are slow to be kind and have no results. I am very unhappy. If this happens to be a bad machine, these things happen but not getting me another one when you are the official servicer of the unit is inexcusable. And the length of this ordeal is equally awful. Never had a I had this long a discussion about a machine that won’t pump water through the grouphead. Not rocket science. ... MoreI have been a 20 year customer of Whole Latte Love. Incredible price/performance for a single-boiler machine

We received an unexpected present on the last day of the year: iDrinkCoffee, many thanks for shipping our Profitec Go so surprisingly early! My review after using the machine for a month: very satisfied. Easy to dial with a decent grinder, producing consistent quality shots day after day. The included portafilter and tamper are reasonable, my only addition is a WDT tool. We are mostly drinking espresso, although occasional frothing is pretty easy, with a sufficient steam (OK, I didn't learn latte art yet :-). PID control is useful for experimenting with lightly roasted beans. Love the shot timer! We placed the equipment on a shallow surface (counter depth is only 13 1/2" or 344mm); and found absolutely no problem with Profitec Go positioned sideways, the steam ... MoreWe received an unexpected present on the last day of the year: iDrinkCoffee, many thanks for shipping our Profitec Go so surprisingly early! My review after using the machine for a month: very satisfied. My First Espresso Machine.. and a Fantastic one at that!
5 September 2022

It all started when Starbucks opened up next to my work a few months ago. I became somewhat addicted. It continued when I became frustrated at the lack of consistency with my Iced Shaken Espressos. Too much ice, too little, too much milk, not enough espresso. $4.56 each time, sometimes twice a day. But how can I be mad? These are teenage rookies, who do not know what they are doing! I started to do research and learn a thing or two about espresso. Oops...3 weeks and about 100 hours of learning and online research later, I finally decided on the Profitec GO to be my first machine. My logic was that it's the same price or only SLIGHTLY more than a Gaggia Pro that's modded out the way it should be. Oops...3 weeks and about 100 hours of learning and online research later, I finally decided on the Profitec GO to be my first machine. My logic was that it's the same price or only SLIGHTLY more than a Gaggia Pro that's modded out the way it should be. The PID, the shot timer, the pressure gauge which is also adjustable, and the 1200W energy usage really swayed me over. Also liked the black/chrome theme and the teal pressure dial. It's a beautiful piece of a equipment and very high quality. I've never pulled espresso in my life, but after a day my shots are already pretty much perfect, and I think that is hugely due to the consistency of this fantastic machine. (And I suppose the 100+ hours of research/videos)I will tell you what, if you get this machine and your shots are not good, then I can promise you it's not the machine that's the problem. It's extremely consistent and it tells you everything you need to know. The PID is easy to control and set temps, the shot timer just the perfect tool for the beginner as well, and more convenient than using one on a scale. It heats up quickly, I can produce shots in 15 mins, or less if you preheat using the brewing feature for hot water on your portafilter. The double portafilter works great, I chocked up another $80 to get the profitec bottomless portafilter and triple basket as well. The stock baskets are already fantastic, I see no need to get the VST one.The machine is easy to clean. I do already have a few scuffs on the top for holding metal and glass cups on it. Also, if you have cups/glasses on top while its brewing, you will hear them vibrate. Solution is to either put nothing on top while brewing, or just keep an extra microfiber cloth resting on top.All in all I am extremely happy with this machine and feel like I could not have done better in starting my espresso journey. I look forward to many tasty energetic mornings and saving $5+ a day at Starbucks and Dunkin espresso drinks. BUY THIS MACHINE!!

New Standard for Single Boilers

After having put this machine through its paces for a while now, I am confident in recommending this machine to anyone looking for a premium single boiler machine. This machine like all others has things that aren't perfect, but the positives by far outweigh the negatives. I would not hesitate to recommend this machine to anyone looking for a premium single boiler.Pros:- Incredibly consistent results with each brew.- Adjustable OPV is the easiest to access of any machine I've owned, very easy to set using the pressure gauge.-Quick start-up, rebound, and steam changeover time. The claims of 5 min for brew temp and 10 for the group are spot on.- Steaming performance and workflow are both great for a SBDU machine, will exceed expectations for someone that steams ... MoreAfter having put this machine through its paces for a while now, I am confident in recommending this machine to anyone looking for a premium single boiler machine. The claims of 5 min for brew temp and 10 for the group are spot on.- Steaming performance and workflow are both great for a SBDU machine, will exceed expectations for someone that steams 1-2 drinks frequently.- No temp surfing, no massive HX style cooling flushes, no thermoblock temperature guess work. The PID is super easy to use and makes brew temps a breeze.-Generous and easy to clean tank, no poly tubing to deal with.-Build quality is impressive for the price.Cons:- No boiler autofill.- No low water shutoff or easy water level indicator. You have to remove the lid to the tank.- Bottomless PF will be necessary if you plan on using a scale or cups taller than traditional shot glasses. Cup clearance is roughly 3 1/8th inches to spouts on included PF, roughly 4 1/2 inches to a bottomless.-Steam wand is not no-burn.

Not sure what's going on

Purchased this machine after watching the WLL YouTube video of the Top 5 Premium Entry-Level machines of 2022. We are entry level, although I worked as a barista years ago (and was trained on a real machine). Our first impression was the Profitec is heavy and appears well-built, although the cup warmer plate on ours is crooked, making the water tank top rattle when the machine is running and giving the machine a bit of a crooked look if you look at it closely straight-on (the plate is reflective, so it's more obvious when you see straight things, like the tile of our backsplash, reflected crookedly). We adjusted the PID and temperature according to the WLL video on the machine, then got to pulling shots. We adjusted the PID and temperature according to the WLL video on the machine, then got to pulling shots. We used quality coffee, a good grinder, and after some trial we dialed in the amount and grind. We pulled four good shots, and I was so happy. The coffee was delicious, and I felt I'd gotten my barista skills back. But then things started getting weird. With everything else remaining the same, shots started taking forever, ending up bad/bitter, and just now when I pulled a shot water leaked out of the brew group during operation (the portafilter was clamped in correctly and tightly). The best we can tell, maybe we need to upgrade the shower head? But for a $1k machine, I wouldn't expect to have to immediately start upgrading parts. And speaking of upgrades, the Top 5 video states you can upgrade the Profitec GO with wood features, but this isn't the case. No upgrades are offered when you purchase now (March/April 2023). One or two little quirks I can deal with, but bad shots/parts is pushing things too far. And of course, we are just about at our 30-day mark at this point. Hoping we can get things sorted out with WLL on this machine, but for anyone else looking at it, I wanted to put this out there... you could end up having to deal with some stuff before this machine is dialed in.

This machine is incredible for its price point!

I've had the machine nearly a month now, pulling shots on it almost daily, and steaming milk about 50% of the time. Let me just say this machine is everything I wanted out of a machine that was nearly double the cost, and it all just works seamlessly. The OPV is super easy to adjust with the included backflush basket. The PID is super easy to change to the desired temperature. Everything heats up really quick, normally in the time I do my standard morning routine, i.e. its for sure ready in like 15 minutes. The pressure gauge is very responsive. Overall, I'm pulling incredible shots and getting to tune the machine to each coffee to get things dialed in. The Profitec ring group head is super nice as it seems to be completely compatible with E61 stuff, plus you don't ... MoreI've had the machine nearly a month now, pulling shots on it almost daily, and steaming milk about 50% of the time. Overall, I'm pulling incredible shots and getting to tune the machine to each coffee to get things dialed in. The Profitec ring group head is super nice as it seems to be completely compatible with E61 stuff, plus you don't have to worry nearly as much about burning yourself on all of the exposed bits. The 3 way valve works seemlessly for releasing pressure after the shot.Though I love this machine, and I do truly give it 5 stars, there are a couple cons to keep in mind depending on what you are looking for. 1) No pre-infusion settings, but I work around this by using the the "opening the steam wand" trick. 2) No real good way to get hot water. Often I make Americanos and so now I just need to remember to turn on my kettle to get a little hot water as well. You technically can just pull with an empty basket, and you technically can turn the pump on with the steam wand open, but neither is really a pleasant experience. 3) It is tall. I can't really use the top to heat my cups as it gets in the way of the cabinet. Instead I've had to start leaving them off the top except for when I'm actively trying to heat them. 4) No low water sensor or even a sight glass. The only way to know how much water you have left is to open the reservoir and take a peak, it'd be super nice to have a low water indicator or a just a simple window into the reservoir.Truly though, I don't think there's a better deal for a machine on the market. Most of the features here only start showing up on machines that are twice as expensive, so the issues mentioned above are just little irritants that I've picked up on over the course of using it. All of them are easy to work around, but it does become the question of how much will they bother you?
