After emailing with support, who assured me that trying to fix it myself wouldn't void warranty, I opened the back up and found that the wire cradle which connects the probe to the PID wasn't plugged in. I'm not sure whether this was a manufacturing error or it came loose during shipping, but thankfully it was an easy enough fix to just plug it back in. I've included a picture of where it's supposed to plug in in case anyone else has the same issue.

For context, this is my first espresso machine and I am a novice in espresso. I researched extensively before choosing the Profitec Go, and I am extremely pleased with my decision. The excellent build quality, coupled with extremely useful features not found in entry level machines, such as the PID sensor / shot timer, easy access to the OPV and a pressure gauge, convinced me to go with this machine.I have been able to experiment with my espresso shots and fine tuning to dial in my shots - the features above have been very helpful for me as a novice to get concrete data points for each shot so I can modify as I like.If the machine is in your budget, go for it, you will not regret it.

From Expobar to Profitec
26 September 2023

The Profitec GO Espresso Machine replaces a decade old Expobar Espresso machine from Whole latte love. In both cases researched the digital archives comparatively for all machines to discuss many details for future use successfully with representatives. The Expobar then was exceptional. Long lasting, functional and unfailing in quality. The PROFITEC design with technological simplicity and further longevity is a pleasure to use with quality espressos daily. Lighter with further functionality a reliable source of enjoyment. Thanks to further discussions in a final decision with Whole latte love. Thanks again, salute.

Great machine but with some issue
9 February 2023

I can't give this a 5 stars due to the following reasons. The machine is great but the PID is faulty when it delivered. One of the button doesn't work properly. I have to return it to fix it and it takes more than 3 weeks and still haven't got any update. I actually like their product a lot so, I expected Idrinkcoffee to offer me back something for this faulty machine and the delay. So far, nothing and I have to ask them personally which make myself very uncomfortable to do that. It's so sad that I have to think twice before I purchase another new machine in the future. I will still give a good 3 stars for their quick responsiveness during the this whole process.

Have had this unit for 2 months and I am very happy I went with a machine-grade espresso machine versus appliance-grade. Very simple machine with outstanding build quality that is apparent right out of the box. I am really loving the manual aspect of preparing and pulling my shot, finding just the right balance of temperature, pressure, time and fineness/coarseness of grinds. Took me quite a few pulls to strike the right balance and get rich creamy espresso shots but it’s worth it to learn the art. From the start I upgraded the shower screen, something you cannot do, take it apart, with appliance grade. New weapon in my brewing arsenal

I've been using the Profitec GO for a few weeks now and can say with absolute certainty this machine is legit. I conducted months of research before making the purchase and am more than satisfied with the experience thus far. I'm able to brew next level coffee with this machine and all the reviews and critiques I read from this machine are more than accurate. It brews incredibly consistent espresso at the perfect temperature. It doesn't take long to heat up the boiler and am pulling shots in no time at all. I cant criticize anything up until this point as the multi-variable equation to solve the age old question "how to craft the perfect shot of espresso" takes time to configure with your roast of choice. The Go pulls wonderful espresso
1 October 2023

The Go pulls wonderful espresso shots heats up fast build quality is excellent all this in and a small footprint saving counter top space. However if like making milk drinks like I do this machine is not for you. The boiler is so small I was not able to get through steaming even a small pitcher before it ran out of steam. The people at Whole latte love we very helpful and made a couple of suggestions but in the end I sent the machine back and bought a heat exchange machine. Many of the reviews rave about the Gos steaming ability but this was not my experience.

I stepped up to this machine from a Delonghi ECP 3420. The idea was a long term use machine and not need to upgrade in the future. I’m the only coffee drinker in the house so no need for a heat exchanger or dual boiler machine. Out of the box the machine seemed impressive. After some use though I found things I did not like.-The buttons are nice but can be difficult to tell if the button is engaged or not. Combine this with the power indicator light not being very bright and I found myself leaving the machine on unintentionally. ECO mode helps with this, but given that I travel often, this was a con for me.-The manual recommends purging the boiler twice before steaming. Combine this with the power indicator light not being very bright and I found myself leaving the machine on unintentionally. ECO mode helps with this, but given that I travel often, this was a con for me.-The manual recommends purging the boiler twice before steaming. While my plants were happy with the extra water for them, I found myself refilling the tank sooner than I feel would have otherwise been necessary. Plus, this was just too much work, splatter, and equipment juggling for me.-Frothing - this machine did poorly with frothing alternative milks. And I tried the same exact oatmilk used at my favorite local cafe. I am new to manual frothing so I put alot of effort into learning with little improvement in results. Then I tried goat milk. Perfect latte art froth.-The puck seems to remain wetter than what I expected given the price of this machine.-The shower screen often splashes the grinds up onto the screen, making a mess.-The cup warmer barely gets to a warm temperature. It really is just a shelf, not a warmer. Another disappointment for a $1000 machine.-I have the Barazata Encore grinder, I modded it to be stepless which helped but still is a poor companion for the Profitec. Combined with the cons I felt the machine had, I decided I did not like the machine enough to upgrade my grinder. Even with stepless grinding, I never achieved an enjoyable espresso with the same beans from my local cafe that I often enjoyed in my Delonghi.I’ve given the machine 4 stars because I’m sure some of these cons are due to my inexperience and others may not be a con to you. Personally I will be downgrading this machine and upgrading my grinder. Also worth noting - Whole Latte Love customer service has been wonderful with helping me with decision making and answering questions.
