Projecta DC/Solar Battery Charger IDC25

Easy to install, well constructed. This is a must for deep cycle batteries although it does charge every battery type. Can be used on new vehicle smart alternators or older cars. Set up with or without a solar panel. 💯% love it.

This product arrived promptly and well packaged. I have not installed it completely yet but the instructions are quite clear and even though I have a higher university degree in physics and electronics I am sure that I will not have to call on any specialist expertise. I will submit another review after I have used it for a while.

Compact and well designed

Unit is small in size but big on functions. Operation and connection is very simple with excellent supplied instructions. All leds and leads are well labelled. After using unit have found it does all that it is meant to do.

Compact and works as advertised.

The unit is very compact and is the only charging unit that automatically controls both solar and generator charging input whilst being highly suited for under bonnet installation. I had the unit fitted to a Series 200 Land Cruiser and can't fault it. The only negative being an inaccurate explanation of the operating lights.

Dc to Dc solar charger

I needed dc charger that would charge my 24volt motorhomes starting bank as well as allowing me to add a 12 volt bank for the house batteries and charge that at the same time, the bonus is i can run my solar panels straight into the unit also. For the quality and price and convenience of running duel voltage systems you cant go wrong.

Good Quality

Perfect for any AUX battery situation. 25A output is more than you need, but it ensures your battery remains in tip top condition while out on a journey. Always reliable.

Inquiring

I have a 2015 200 series Landcruiser, which has twin batteries.I also tow a caravan, and after a trip I find that the twin batteries of the 300 series landcruiser are not fully charged. Will installing a dc dc charger fix this problem.

Couldn't be happier. Purchased this unit to replace a thunder that wasn't performing... Since fitting the Projecta my auxiliary battery has been full charge almost constantly... Great dc dc charger and extremely easy to install.... Works great with my hilux's temperature compensating alternator

Versatile DC-DC charger

After some research, I selected this product to charge a deep cycle 12V AGM battery running a compressor fridge in the rear of a Hyundai Santa Fe SUV for a month of touring OZ. Have previously used a Redarc BCDC1225-LV fitted to a battery on a camper trailer. This unit can also fully charge a battery using the low voltage produced by vehicles with smart alternators. The Projecta unit offers these same features, but can also allow a simultaneous alternator & solar charge without adding additional relays. The unit came with butt crimp connectors & heat-shrink. Overall very happy with the purchase, and recommend this product and seller.

Works like it is designed to do.

1. The unit charges the battery at 25a so it can draw in excess of 30a from the vehicle. 2. The solar IS a MPPT charger and it allowed my solar panels to run at about 18v delivering maximum power from the panels to the battery. 3. The manual is not clear about the "Ignition Connection". This wire when connected to 12v such as the ignition or any other 12v source changes the input voltage settings that the unit operates on. ie. With the cable connected to 12v the unit will start charging when the input volts exceeds 12.2v and will stop charging when the voltage is less than 11.9v. 4. When the unit detects a voltage over the starting volts (13.4 or 12.2 depending on the "Ignition Connection". ) there will be a delay of about a minute before the charging starts. If the ... More1. If the voltage drop in the connection cables from the alternator to the unit drops this voltage below12.8v the the unit will continue to charge for about 20 seconds and then disconnect. Within a couple of seconds if it detects an open circuit voltage over the staring voltage then the unit will continue to charge cycling about every 20 seconds. 5. In the situation like in a caravan where a larger voltage drop is expected at 30+ amps then it may be necessary to connect the "Ignition Connection" to the input 12v+ so that the unit will keep charging at a lower voltage. It will keep charging after the vehicle is switched off until the vehicles battery volts drops below 12.2v. This is OK as 12.2v is still OK to start the vehicle. Hope this helps. Barry
