Can't beat the macros in this mix

I am seeing a lot of reviews stating that this pancake mix isn't worthwhile. People.....you just aren't making it right. I use one scoop of the pancake mix with one scoop of any flavor myprotein impact whey....like marshmallow, cinnamon cereal, or just plain vanilla. Stir in 120 ml of unsweetened vanilla almond milk. That's all to create tasty crepe style pancakes. I top mine with 120g plain greek yogurt that is mixed with 4g sugarfree instant pudding mix (any flavor) and a stevia packet. Last I drop on sliced bananas, blueberries, or strawberries with a drizzle of peanut butter poweder that was mixed with Jordan's flavored skinny syrup. Overall i really like the pancake mix, it’s super easy to make the batter and they always turn out well. I do however find the texture to be a bit rubbery but making a few tweaks I feel have definitely helped. I got the golden syrup and the taste is really good. To improve the texture I add in an egg and some yoghurt with the milk to make it less dry. When I cook it I put it on low heat or else it’ll burn the one side. Goes Well With: Dark chocolate chips mixed with a a spoon of peanut butter and some sweetener with a splash of milk in the microwave. It turns into this delicious sauce that I’d like to think is healthier than the typical chocolate sauce. Add more or less milk depending on how thick you want it

Disgustingly sweet but great with a few adjustments

The maple flavor mix is soooo bad! It's way to sweet and artificial tasting. I hate wasting money and food so I've tested around and have come up with this recipe; Blend together: 50g pancake mix 54g instant oats (that's 2 packets of quackers instant oatmeal) 100ml skimmed milk 150g Greek yogurt (I used alpro Greek style as it's low fat/sugar and higher protein) And water, however much you want according to how thick you want your batter. I had quite a lot of water to make them more crepe-like pancakes, that way the texture isn't too rubbery like it is when thicker. Goes Well With: My protein hazelnut choc spread and bananas Or cinnamon sugar and lemon

Does what it says on the packet!

Makes delicious pancakes very quickly! The cookies and cream are by far my favourite of the flavours so far. I would advise mixing with a little water initially before adding the rest. Don’t over cook either, they cook very quickly in a non stick pan and once filled only need about another 20-30seconds. No oil required, just a decent job stick pan. I read reviews of people saying they stick, I haven’t had that issue so must be down to too high heat and not very good cookware. Would highly recommend for high protein, low carbs and a tasty breakfast/lunch or snack. Goes Well With: Greek yoghurt Peanut butter Fruit Syrups Bacon

Great for both pancakes and wraps!
7 August 2023

I purchased both the golden syrup and unflavoured pancake mixes. I agree with many of the other reviews that golden syrup is far too sweet, even after I had mixed it in a 1:1 ratio with the unflavoured. For fluffy pancakes, make sure to use cow's milk! I use whole milk. I find that the pancakes turn out SO dry and dense when mixed with plant milk or water. Having said this, I do like to combine the unflavoured mix with almond milk to make wraps instead of pancakes. They do turn out quite rubbery and dense but if you can look past the texture, I think it's worth the macros. I use 25g of the mix with around 45-50g of almond milk for one large wrap. This comes to 17g of protein for around 100kcal which is unbeatable by any other wraps I’ve seen sold in supermarkets. I ... MoreI purchased both the golden syrup and unflavoured pancake mixes. This comes to 17g of protein for around 100kcal which is unbeatable by any other wraps I’ve seen sold in supermarkets. I do have to use a lot of sauces (hummus, low-sugar bbq, pesto, cottage cheese) inside to conceal the dry/rubbery-ness of the wrap. Beware though, I purchased these on sale in late July and both bags expire in October and November, although this shouldn’t be an issue for me as I will likely finish these by then. It seems that MyProtein tends to overstock products and then puts items about to go out of date on clearance, so just be weary! Goes Well With: whole milk for fluffy pancakes. drench in sugar-free maple syrup, peanut butter, berries, etc. water or almond milk for wraps. use for your favourite wrap ingredients- savoury or sweet

Honest review
5 April 2023

So far I’ve tried 3 of the pancake flavours and I’m here to give an honest review. You have to take into consideration that these are pancakes packed with protein and for 200 kcal they’re fantastic. They’re obviously not going to taste like normal pancakes but it’s expected. I made all my pancakes with water only. Unflavoured - lots of people said they hated it but I really liked it because I could make my own flavours with spices and my other 0 calorie sweeteners I have at home. Very customisable 7/10 Nut Nougat - delicious flavour, no need for any syrup or anything as it is sweet enough. Possibly too sweet, so unless you are able to tolerate extreme sweetness, I wouldn’t purchase 6/10 Cinnamon Sugar - the best out of them all. I added extra cinnamon because I live for lots of cinnamon. They sort of tasted like gingerbread cookies to me. Love this flavour, for me personally it wasn’t too sweet however it was just about to be, but everyone has different preferences so it’s completely up to you 8. 5/10 I’ve read the reviews that say they don’t taste like normal pancakes or they have a weird texture. They are protein pancakes. You cannot expect the real thing. I personally love the texture. Nice and fluffy straight off the pan but collapse once they start to cool. I love this pancakes and I will be purchasing more because for that amount of protein, the macros are absolutely fantastic Goes Well With: Chopped Fruit 0 calorie syrups 7 calorie jams

Not a fan, but i’d say give it a go!

I tried these as the protein was way higher than the vegan ones (i had read the vegan ones were better and they have a lovely vanilla flavour) and do not like them one bit. I tried chocolate and maple syrup, i can’t even describe the taste but they do not taste how you’d expect.. most likely due to the high protein! The maple syrup is sickly sweet but not in a good way (and i have such a sweet tooth), chocolate is a mild chocolate flavour but has that protein-ey taste. The suggested amount of milk is not enough, i used that plus more alone for a 50g scoop and it was so thick it was hard to swallow. I would suggest using quite a bit more, mix until basically watery - it will make thinner pancakes which are far better! Also when you mix the milk in the mixture forms small clumps, which is so annoying - doesn’t affect the pancakes too much but doesn’t seem to mix all that well. I then have mine with some fruit and sweet freedom choc shot (great combo). As much as I didn’t like them, i really do suggest to try as i think it is a preference thing. I also think the protein intake is amazing for what it is, and if that is your focus these will definitely do. But if you’re wanting more of an authentic pancake taste/texture then i’d go with the vegan pancakes, less protein but can find ways to bring in more! Solid Option for a sweet breakfast
27 February 2024

I got sample packets of the flavours and frustratingly they no longer sell my favourite - cinnamon and sugar. It was by far the best tasting and easiest to cook. I'll be keeping an eye out for that to be back. Cookies and cream is a solid second favourite. Smells and tastes quite like white chocolate. For some reason it doesn't look as nicely as the cinnamon flavour. I've taken to adding a bit of cinnamon and blueberries to the this flavour and just balanced out some of the sweetness. The golden syrup was horribly sweet and tasted synthetic. Almost inedible. The unflavoured was boring and just tasted of protein powder. Would defiantly recommend mixing with milk, not water. Goes Well With: Add raspberries or blueberries when cooking to combat the dryness of the batter.

Sunday Morning Pancakes !
2 June 2024

I can finally enjoy some high protein pancakes and kickstart my mornings right! I'll admit that I regret not getting the flavored pancake mix, but the unflavored mix has allowed me to experiment and test new recipes. Quick tip: Allow the mixture to rest and hydrate before adding anymore liquid. At first, I thought it needed more liquid but the ratio on the bag is the perfect mix to get decent pancake. Throw in a pinch of baking powder to puff the pancakes. Goes Well With: The instructions calls for water but I've been mixing it with whole milk, vanilla concentrate, dash of cinnamon powder, baking powder, and a mashed ripe banana. I plan on throwing in some chocolate chips and blueberries and seeing how well it turns out.

The taste and mixability is really awful
8 April 2024

I have tried a number of protein pancake mixes, as i love the convenience of having them to-hand for snacks. Of all the types i have tried, this is by far the worst (cookie and creme). The taste is pretty terrible, like a really low quality protein bar - you could eat it if you really needed the nutrition, but you would never choose to otherwise. I also found it next to impossible to mix all of the dry chunks out, which added to the terrible eating experience. They are also very flat and dense, not at all like a pancake. I will say the nutritional values are excellent, if you don't mind chewing a bowl of poor tasting protein powder. Goes Well With: The bin
