PRS SE Hollowbody Standard - Fire Red Burst

This guitar is beautiful to look at, and even more beautiful to play!I honestly don't understand how it felt easier to play than any other guitar I own, but it did. I played for 30 minutes and my fingers felt like they were tingling to pick it back up for hours after.The sound is great too, the resonance through the mahogany hollow body is so satisfying.One detail which could be easy to miss is that this guitar comes with a hard case, which takes a little bit of the worry out of handling during delivery, but if you're buying from GAK they use DPD for delivery anyway, so you get a safe and brilliant service letting you know exactly what time your guitar will arrive.I own roughtly 12 guitars, this one has instantly become my favourite.

Finally received by back order. The good: balances better than your typical hollow-body, and of course its feather-weight. Fit and finish are good, setup is fine and this is always welcome and expected from PRS.But...Im beginning to think that PRS deliberately handicaps their "higher end" SE lineup. Similar to the problem with the SE Pauls Guitar, the pickups on this thing are super hot and very soon they produce ice pick shrill sounds. That and they are also rather bass-heavy. Yeah you can eq the heck out of this but it never sounds like a nice low output PAF. Even import Duncan Design pickups are an upgrade here. As a result, you lose much of why you came to the show: nuances and dynamics get covered over by the hot hb. And of course no coil splitting. Yeah i ... MoreFinally received by back order. Your ears may hear something else but to me even a used AS-73 with its cheapo ceramics is doing a lot more things better than this axe.

Value...it's one thing we look for. This PRS is made overseas. The fit and finish are excellent.Excellent fretwork and neck. The guitar sounds great strummed acoustically, but the pickups are superb!The volume and tone knobs have a smooth taper and feel. The tuners are solid and the guitar stays in tune. The wide fat neck feels a little smaller than previous PRS's I have owned, but fits my hand really well. The case lid doesn't have the best fit, but it works. Having a hardshell case included at this price point is almost unheard of, but is a great idea to protect the hollow body. I highly recommend this guitar if you want value and bang for the buck.

Paul Smith you did it again.

Lightweight. Now I can play the F chord and other chords that before were difficult to play. It has a clear and crystal bell like sound. Match this guitar with a Fender speaker and you are ready to gig. It exceeded my expectations. Compton C. McDonald

Excellent guitar. Never owned or even played a PRS before. The quality of finish and set up just amazed right out of the box. Took several hours of play before the strings settled in but once they did wow!!!Love everything about this guitar, playability is on a par with my Fender Stratocaster American Pro costing 3 times as much so a real bargain. Only problem now is that based on this guitar,I will be so tempted to try out/buy one of their American high end models at significantly more money. Oh well, not just yet but........
