The mahogany body feels nice, durable, and also resonates well. I can FEEL this thing as I play. The neck is thinner than most, and feels really nice in the hands. The Charcoal Burst finish is absolutely stunning. The contour of this guitar is very unique and appealing to the eye. The cut away has a beautiful bevel that adds a sleek/smooth look and feel. No need for a locking nut like the Floyd, and you don't need it! You can use the whammy to it's full potential and never loose tune on this thing. I'm really impressed with this guitar.Only one thing that happened that was kinda a bummer, I had to get a replacement on this guitar. The first one I got had a short in pickup toggle switch, but American Musical did an amazing job of getting me a brand new one in a timely manner. They paid for shipping of old guitar, and had the new one to me overnight after I shipped the defective one back. Cool thing is they didn't wait for the guitar to get back..they shipped it as soon as they could see it was on the truck via UPS. So I shipped it out on a Wednesday, and had the new guitar on Friday. (Guitar didn't go on truck until Thursday morning) so kudos to the team at American Musical Supply for making that a seamless effort and making good by a customer. But this scenario is highly unlikely from a PRS guitar. Just the luck of the draw. I still give this guitar 5 stars

It has individual string saddles allowing you to set string height and radius as you want it. The fret wire feels hard and strong. The fretboard is harder than traditional rosewood and a bit softer than maple. It works really well when you get used to it. This is the second model from the SE line that I own and I'm definitely not disappointed. Frets are dressed and rounded. The neck is slightly thinner than my SE custom and it feels and plays great. Wiring is clean and the cavity has shielding paint. Pickups are clear and have plenty of output. It's a heavier guitar but well balanced with a warmer tone. Only thing I would change is switch out the tuners to a locking model. Only 2 issues, 2 strings pinching at the nut, and a loose volume pot. Both were easy to fix. If you're looking for a good value single cut I would look into this guitar.

Absolute beauty.

This guitar is STUNNING. I'm very glad I went for this slightly pricier Custom compared to his standard SE based on the finish alone. It's simply beautiful and defies the price gap between this and the American-made beasts. If you're interested in this model, the chances are you're already a Mark Tremonti fan so I can categorically say it won't disappoint you if that is the sole reason for your interest. This SE Custom boasts some great sounding pickups that I'd argue emulate his custom-wound PRS ones very well. Further down the line I'd consider adding either some PRS Tremontis or some Bareknuckle Silos, but after a few months of playing it I'm now in no rush to swap them out.I find it very comfortable to play even though I'm not normally a singlecut player (my ... MoreThis guitar is STUNNING. Further down the line I'd consider adding either some PRS Tremontis or some Bareknuckle Silos, but after a few months of playing it I'm now in no rush to swap them out.I find it very comfortable to play even though I'm not normally a singlecut player (my guitar history is predominantly Ibanez RG and Sterling by MusicMan Petrucci models) but I find this to be a very comfortable guitar with an easy-to-play wide/thin neck profile; great for shredders. Personally I think that's where this guitar finds its niche as opposed to other singlecuts, including PRS's own - the thinner neck.My one gripe with the guitar is purely personal and doesn't affect playability - the painted neck. This isn't exclusive to PRS SEs as I've had a few awesome guitars in the past with painted necks, but although you can't necessarily feel any difference I just wish they left the neck with a satin finish, or even give it a dark stain to compliment the maple top. It may change the aesthetics a little, and maybe that was the rationale behind painting it, but I look at other similarly-priced guitars like my Sterling JP150 and feel that a painted neck needs to be a thing of the past. I don't believe they paint the necks on the American Tremonti models so why do it on the SEs? That being said, I quickly forget all about it the moment it's plugged in. A truly brilliant instrument that anyone would be fortunate to own. Highly recommend.

Amazing bang for buck if set up properly
19 December 2022

First for those of you who are new to Prs SE they all require a break in period. Longer you have it better it stays in tune. Second, for the price you can't get a better sustained full of presence sound in lead tones than this! Dirt is wonderful cleans are chimy and gorgeous. Again with the right set up the Prs pickups are hot, get them away from the strings about or just above flat with the pickup rings and you will see what I mean. Gem of a guitar! I've had esp, Ibanez, schecter.. just PRS consistently is a better instrument. Go grab one. It won't break the bank.

Falsely Advertised but seems to play fine.
27 May 2023

They advertise it as made in South Korea and the pictures depict a clearly brown guitar with a light colored neck. I received a dark charcoal one w/ a dark neck made in Indonesia. Their customer service was of no help, couldn't tell me if what was listed actually exists, and wouldn't acknowledge the false advertising. With all that said, what I received seems to feel and play nice for the price point. A bit of fret buzz at times.

Great guitar
15 July 2021

So, amazingly enough this came perfect from MF. I'm writing this 4 or so months after the purchase, and many hours of playing, and so far it's a great guitar. I normally purchase my guitars from another Sweet retailer, but they didn't have this one in stock so I took a chance. Actually came in fantastic condition. I was worried after I read the reviews (AFTER it was bought), but I'm glad I didn't get a lemon. Pickups sound great for their stock cheapness, which is pretty amazing. The body is fantastic. It doesn't quite stay in tune as well as I had hoped, but this thing has never had it's strings stretched so that's a given. I've stretched them manually, tuned and re-tuned, and it's now perfect with Db tuning. Very happy.

Incredible value

Overall:As a longtime PRS fan, I was interested to see how this would hold up. I am pleased to say it didn’t disappoint. It is very muck like a Les Paul, which Tremonti based it on with a few upgrades. The top, which has to be seen to be understood, is gorgeous. It looks black or green depending on the light. Like a Les Paul it is pretty heavy but the neck is very thin. The pickups are pretty hot and does heavy music well. I did upgrade the tuners to SE locking tuners, which are great. The bar works well and holds the tuning very as well as I could hope for. The pickups function well and I don’t see a need to upgrade to the American ones. There isn’t much to say about it. It is a no-frills guitar and I am very happy with it. I can’t express how incredible this ... MoreOverall:As a longtime PRS fan, I was interested to see how this would hold up. Ordered and paid for new, received used, blemished
28 July 2021

Overall:I ordered a new PRS tremonti SE. I was charged on ZZ's installments for New... But I received a used guitar. There's a chip in the pain on headstock, fine scratches around the pickups, and dust as if it sat out for some time. Additionally, it appears to be modified. The action was below PRS spec on the guitar as though someone who didn't know what they were doing, tried to lower the action with a truss adjustment, making the low E and A buzz a great deal. Contacted ZZ they sent a generic response email with a link to their return page. Filled out return info, and it said they'll get back to me in one to two days. Not really trusting this seller at the moment. So my review is based on what I received.

Pretty Sweet
13 February 2022

I've played some PRS guitars before so I kinda knew what to expect going in. It's very solid. It plays fantastic. The action is perfect for me. The sustain can be measured in hours it seems like. You might have to tighten the bridge a tad which lowers it, but the sound doesn't change. The tuning is an issue. It'll play great for an entire session, but it will need a refresh after that. That is my only "complaint" so far. And its not really even that much of a complaint. Overall very pleased thus far. I would highly recommend this guitar as the guitar between the first and the dream guitar.
