Just like the Hydrate Shampoo, this one came highly recommended but ended up being unusable for me. And for exactly the same reason as the shampoo...it left my scalp feeling itchy. I know this for definite as I used the shampoo with a different conditioner that doesn't cause any issues, yet my scalp itched, and then I alternated and used my regular shampoo with this conditioner and still my scalp itched. So it's both products. And it's a shame, as I was really happy with the conditioning effect as my hair was completely tangle-free and manageable for a change, without any knotting throughout the day. Also most conditioners I've used can make my hair and especially roots oily within 12 hours but this wasn't doing that at all. Lovely thick and creamy consistency too, with a much more 'mintier' fragrance than the shampoo - perfect and refreshing if you live in a hot and humid climate like I do. If it wasn't for the issues I experienced I would have continued to use this. Pureology manufacturers please take note: too much peppermint oil and you run the risk of causing adverse reactions on sensitive scalps. I couldn't tell you exactly where on the ingredients list it should be, but 7th place from the top indicates a fair amount of it is in here. And this is coming from someone who doesn't even have a particularly sensitive scalp to begin with! A good product that could do with some minor adjustments to make it more suitable for all. -- My Top 10 Beauty Must-Haves

I received the Pureology Hydrate Sheer products from Influenster for review purposes and have been using the shampoo conditioner combo for the past 2.5-3 weeks to give it a fair chance prior to reviewing. For reference I have fine, wavy hair that has considerable damage and split-ends from bleaching my hair every 3 months as well as pretty regular use of hot tools/blowdryer. Therefore, I'm in desperate need of hydrating/repairing products that also don't weigh down my fine hair. As for the Hydrate Sheer Conditioner, it's a decent conditioner and gets the job done. It felt like I needed to use a little bit more than usual to coat my hair, but my hair feels smooth after use and didn't weigh my hair down like other conditioners often do. My hair is admittedly softer and hydrated after using the shampoo/conditioner pair together - however, I do NOT think this conditioner outperforms my regular favorite products from other high end brands - and at this price point I really do expect a higher quality product or at least a more noticable change after nearly 3 weeks of continued use. I wasn't a huge fan of the scent at first, but it did grow on me over time and now I quite enjoy the fragrance. Overall, it's a nice conditioner and I will continue to use the rest of the bottle, but I would not repurchase products from this line as I feel there are better performing conditioners out there for damaged hair at a more affordable price point.

First thoughts were that the smell was pleasing to my senses, very candy cane -like (On the flip side this scent may not be for everyone) In practicality, it had a good slip, my hair felt detangled, smooth and seaweed like. The results were disappointing though. Left my hair quite dry, I had to use lots of Kerastase ultime oil to keep the frizz and dryness at bay. The price is so expensive and is abusive to my bank account. I don't get the hype. It's important to mention that I have only used this conditioner once so far. Lets hope with further use the results improve, I had high hopes for this Conditioner! If you're interested in what type my hair is, it's natural 2b. Perhaps I need a lot heavier hydration.

So I've repurchased this conditioner again and again for the simple fact that it makes my hair the softest and most hydrated it has ever been, however, recently I've considered switching to a different conditioner. Honestly it breaks my heart. I'm not someone who is sensitive to smells at all but this conditioner is crazy on the scent. It's straight up menthol peppermint. If you love that, then you'll love this! Personally I don't really mind the smell but it's how it makes my body feel! I can have my water on the hottest setting but my upper half of my body will be freezing cold because of the menthol affect of this conditioner. I've had to switch up my shower routine so that I make sure I wash my body again after I rinse out the conditioner because of how intense ... MoreSo I've repurchased this conditioner again and again for the simple fact that it makes my hair the softest and most hydrated it has ever been, however, recently I've considered switching to a different conditioner. I first used this product on a trip. It was meant to be used as for convenience, use and toss. Only I didn't toss...I purchased. I have been using a specific conditioner for over 10 years, not because I don't life trying different products, but because the product I am currently using has been the best product for my hair, hands down. Until now. I went into this conditioning experience knowing absolutely nothing about what the product was or what it would do for my hair. I loved it. The scent is subtly and I think there might be peppermint (or something in that family) in it because it feels cool and refreshing, which is a bonus because when I am in the throws of a migraine, I rarely want to even touch my head. I was even able to leave it in a hair towel for longer than usual and it didn't frizz my hair, I could blow dry and style and it still felt soft, silky and smooth. I absolutely LOVE this product. Never thought I would see this day, but I can confidently say I know have two hair products that will walk the days with me, It really is, just that good. For reference, I am older, my hair is highlighted and can tend to look dry - when use anything but the products I used and am now using xo

HAIR LOSS

I've never written a review before, positive or negative. But this I HAD to write so I can save anybody wanting to try this conditioner because of the good ratings it seemingly has. I started using this conditioner towards the end of November until now. I have very thick balayage-bleached 2C hair. This conditioner was very hydrating, and did make my hair feel soft...that is until I noticed that my hair was getting shorter and looking thinner over time. I have used nothing new except this, meaning it can only be this. It caused extreme breakage, an issue that never used to happen, and a lot more hair loss than normal. I'm so upset this happened and I'm still trying to look for anything that can help reverse this damage. I genuinely do love this conditioner & living somewhere where the winters are long I likely will buy the large bottle because I think my hair could benefit from this in multiple seasons. it's very similar to the living proof weightless hair mask. I have used the it's a 10 miracle daily conditioner for a few months now, and switched to this because I had some breakage while I was in Colorado. BUT- while I do love this and it smells better than any other hair product I've ever smelled ever- I felt my hair didn't last as long in between washes as usual. My hair felt as soft if not softer than when I use my living proof hair mask but by day 3 after washing my ends were very very dry and usually I last a little longer than that. My favorite conditioner
3 April 2023

I've been using Pureology Hydrate Conditioner for almost 25 years, before it was bought by L'Oreal. The minty fragrance is invigorating and I only have to use a small amount of conditioner (about a dime size) to cover all of my shoulder length hair. The one thing I don't like is that the lid on the bottle is really hard to open. I feel like I'm going to break my nails off trying to flip it up. The old lid that toggled up and down was better. Also, I wish Pureology still sold the old pump dispenser for the large bottles. It's awkward having to pour out of the big bottles and squeezing the sides causes suction inside the bottle, which is annoying to release. Pureology, please sell a pump dispenser for the large bottles.
