Pureology Pure Volume Shampoo 1 Litre

As a person with fine hair, it can be difficult finding shampoos that don’t leave my hair feeling heavy and waxy. My hair stylist recommended this product to me as I shared this frustration. So far I’ve been trying this out for approximately a month. I wash my hair about twice a week, during the wash, I use about a quarter size amount, rinse, and use a smaller amount. I noticed my hair doesn’t look weighed down or feel heavy. A couple of the reviews I've read mention dryness and tangling as a result of the shampoo; I haven't experienced this. I've received compliments about the shininess of my hair multiple times. Overall, I enjoy the product. I just wish it wasn’t as expensive because I’m a college student working minimum wage.

I have fine naturally curly hair that I usually straighten and it’s always silky soft. My daughter (10 years old) loves when I use Pureology on her since her hair is very oily, straight and thick, it cleans her hair the best. My favorite is this Pureology volume in the pink bottle. My hair has never felt cleaner, lightweight and fluffy but not frizzy. It still keeps the moisture in your scalp, without weighing it down. You won’t regret it. Buy the travel size kits to try out different ones, that’s what I do. Then you don’t spend a lot, they all are great. The only that I didn’t like is the one for blonde hair in yellow bottles.

Absolutely wonderful for oily scalp, colored hair.

I went through many bottles of Pureology Purify Shampoo until it was discontinued. Decided to give this one a try to replace. I am in my late 60's, have struggled with an oily scalp my entire life. This shampoo cleans well, smells delightful and adds volume. I have read negative reviews but if you have normal, not oilier scalp maybe it won't work for you. But for us girls with hair that is colored and needs to be washed either everyday or every other it is fantastic. It doesn't strip your color and CLEANS. Thank you Pureology.

Causes stiff unmanageable mane

This shampoo turned my hair hard and difficult to wash in the shower. I tried working it in as directed but my hair seemed to be getting harder so I rinsed it out and it left my hair stiff. Of course I followed with the matching conditioner but I really didn’t like how it made my hair feel. I felt like this shampoo was damaging to the hair shaft. I won’t be using this again and had to seek out this product online to make sure everyone knows you shouldn’t buy it. It was really bizarre, I’ve never had a shampoo make my hair feel dirty and damaged like that before. Definitely not a good feeling when your trying to wash your hair!

Dries my hair out

I usually get the hydrating shampoo and love it. This time i wanted to try the volume version. My daughter and i have lots of hair but it’s baby fine. This shampoo absolutely dries our hair out. I have to make sure i put conditioner all over my hair. If i missed any hair from the conditioner, i have a hard time brushing my hair. It feels brittle and snarly. I can’t recommend this specific shampoo. The hydrate version is fantastic. Just not this one for our hair.

Great volume shampoo

This does a great job at cleaning my scalp! The shampoo says it's concentrated, which means you should only be using a little bit. The key is to put the shampoo on the palm of your hands and rub then together to create a lather. If you need more suds just add water not more shampoo. If you use too much then, yes I could see how this could be a very drying shampoo. This particular brand is not like other brands definitely pricey but, does an amazing job at giving me the volume I need. I pair this with their sheer hydrating conditioner. I have not had any hair loss like some of the other reviewers have mentioned. Again less is more with this product.

Love This

I have dry color treated hair. Have always struggled to find a good product to hide my crunchy over treated hair. I got this as a sample. It smells amazing. Lathered lusiously. My hair feels so soft and full. After styling it was still shiny and soft. Looks like it was infused with moisture. Havent had that in quite some time. I will add i have "mature" hair. Normally all gray which is why the texture is dry and stiff. Maybe thats why this product works so well for me given many of the reviews are strikingly different. For my hair type though, this stuff is a welcomed miracle.

NOT A GOOD SHAMPOO.

I put a ton of shampoos and their ingredients in chatgpt and told chatgpt what i was looking for. I have bleached hair, fine and thin hair, and i wanted clean and safe ingredients. According to chatgpt this shampoo and pureology hydrate would be my best bet. So i bought trial sizes of both. The hydrate was great no issues. But this, the volume shampoo made my hair feel like straw. I assumed the first tiem i used it was bc i got out of the pool, so i ignored it and continued. But nope, the second time i used it same feeling. I do not reccomend to anyone. I had to use a hair mask to counteract the dryness.

The new formula is terrible

I have been using the Pureology Pure Volume shampoo and conditioner for at least 10 years, through which they have changed the formula at least 3 or 4 times. The last incarnation was terrible and made my long, fine, thin hair feel and act like straw so much so that it felt like it was matting as I shampooed. So I switched over to the Pureology Clean Volume shampoo and conditioner which I have been using for the last year or so. I recently went to repurchase it only to find that it is being replaced with yet another version of the Pure Volume, so I tried the new version. It is even worse than the last. It made every little broken hair and new growth hair stick up like static from my hair. So, after phoning Purology who recommended I use the Sheer Volume instead, I bought and used the Sheer Volume Shampoo and the left over Clean volume Conditioner with it, and after that one wash my hair is now flat, silky and unmanagable.I am now searching around local salons and online to track down a couple of bottles of the Clean Volume before they all disappear and hope that will tide me over until Pureology, yet again, change the formula of the Pure Volume. Please just bring back the original formula of the Pure Volume it was just right. Why did you have to go and change something that was so hard to find in the first place?!Additionally, I should note that the Sheer Volume Shampoo and Conditioner (of which I was given a sample of the conditioner) have very strong scents. I can't even use the Sheer Volume Conditioner for the strong mint scent, let alone the weight of the product.Overall, I loved Pureology's original formulation of Pure Volume, and quite like/d the Clean Volume, but I am disappointed that they have been changed/discontinued and don't want to have to go trying new shampoos all the time.

Very strong chemical content!

I had high expectations from this product because many users gave it high rating plus it’s pricey. For this size it cost $50 plus taxes. How was it? It smells so bad, tangled my hair so bad and it hurt my scalp. I read a comment saying it smells good, hmm.. if the strong chemical scent is a good scent.. Either I got a fake one or there’s problem in their sense of smell. I got both shampoo and conditioner, find it a waste of money because after the one use, I don’t think I want to use it again because of the risk in damaging my scalp. Effect on the hair? Well.. not sure if it really adds volume since I only used it once.
