At first I'm always skeptical of shampoo since most don't work for me and this is one of them. HOWEVER, the shampoo itself is lovely and I definitely think it would work for others. I always want to use one that doesn't have harsh chemicals and the works but it never works for my hair type. This shampoo cleans well without it feeling like you stripped every remnant of moisture out and doesn't leave a film on your hair. The lather is not intense but still there to be comfortable of moving your hands around to massage your scalp. The color of it was a surprise since most shampoos I use are white but this one is a pretty pink. Now for the one thing I'm not a fan of, the smell. I have been on a hair journey these past couple of years, including currently growing out my silvers. With this in mind, I expect my non-dyed hair to react differently to shampoos as it grows out more and more, but I have a ways to go still so this review is largely focusing on colored hair. I’ve tried different shampoos in the Pureology line before, and this one feels fairly par for the course. It does not have that endothermic minty coolness of other Pureology products, but it does leave my hair feeling clean. Some people have mentioned it made their hair feel immediately more brittle, but I didn’t notice that. My hair feels nice and I do notice nice volume for a couple of days. It’s not a miracle worker, obviously, it’s just a shampoo. You’re not going to get 80s hair from just a shampoo. I only wash my hair every two weeks, and this shampoo/conditioner line didn’t cause excess oil production that would make me need to wash more often, so that is a plus in my book. All this being said, I will likely keep this in rotation with my Olaplex, Oribe, Ouai, and Briogeo products.

I have fine naturally curly hair that I usually straighten and it’s always silky soft. My daughter (10 years old) loves when I use Pureology on her since her hair is very oily, straight and thick, it cleans her hair the best. My favorite is this Pureology volume in the pink bottle. My hair has never felt cleaner, lightweight and fluffy but not frizzy. It still keeps the moisture in your scalp, without weighing it down. You won’t regret it. Buy the travel size kits to try out different ones, that’s what I do. Then you don’t spend a lot, they all are great. The only that I didn’t like is the one for blonde hair in yellow bottles.

Having the same problem many are reporting. Dry straw like hair and not clean. I use a palm full of product (after using the recommended amount and getting out of the shower with the bottom of my barely shoulder length hair still greasy like it hadn't been washed). Hair is somehow still dirty feeling and dry. I have fine highlighted hair and it makes it fall out. Look elsewhere. Had Hydrate sheet which was too heavy (but my 70 y/o mon with very dry hair loves it) so thought this was good. Waste of money.
I love that it’s vegan and that’s it’s designed for color treated hair. I don’t have to worry about my color fading. It’s very nourishing and cleans hair very well. Such a luxurious lather and it leaves hair looking alive and bouncy. Smell is amazing! I have super straight, fine, oily and flat hair that is long and lacking volume. I have to wash my hair every day or every other day, so I’m always on the quest for a product that will help me to achieve as much volume as possible but also will be suitable for an everyday wash. I loved this shampoo because it makes my hair feel so clean, shiny and light without drying it. It leaves my hair bouncy and airy but doesn’t leave any residue unlike many other volume shampoos. I waited a while to write this review as I wanted to ensure that my first impressions of this shampoo were accurate. The formula is a thick, creamy light pink with what appears to be iridescent. The bottle is quite small but the product is highly concentrated meaning you only need to use a dollop or two depending on the length of your hair to wash. The scent is nostalgic for me. It transformed my usually uneventful hair washing experience to that were which I am taken aback to that luxurious high-end salon. This scent is definitely what I’d describe l as therapeutic in an aromatherapy type standpoint. This scent is definitely what I’d describe l as therapeutic in an aromatherapy type standpoint. The beautifully rich shampoo created much creamy suds and cleansed well all while preserving the necessary moisture the hair need to retain. A lot of shampoo products out there seem to strip the hair and dry it out. At first I thought I needed to do a second wash but then I quickly realized it was simply preserving the integrity of my hair. This shampoo trumps my must-have favorite shampoos from bumble and bumble. I can tell this formula was meticulously made. The volume it creates is perfect in the sense that it lifts the hair at the root yet manages to avoid making the hair frizzy and dry like most other shampoos claiming to provide full and voluminous results. I will be purchasing this after I finish this bottle. I like my hair full, shiny, smoothed and richly pigmented. I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t wash my hair color out compared to the other shampoos I’ve using. Can’t wait til my next wash so I can enjoy this wonderful product. I find I don’t need to put as much effort in styling or applying as many products following my washes with this shampoo! I’m thoroughly impressed.
What on earth is wrong with this shampoo? I normally use the hydrate but as my hair a little thinner I thought I’d try the volume one. Oh my word - it created a lather for first couple of seconds and then progressed as I was rubbing in to make my hair feel drained on moisture / stiff and I was panicking thinking something is not right. It was stripped of moisture and the more I rinsed the worse it felt. Had to use different shampoo and conditioner to put some life back in my hair. Please can you find out what’s going on. Lots of similar reviews and disappointed customers. I bought the 1 litre bottle so wasted a lot of money. Please respond.
This was my first time using anything from Pureology. I normally go for a volumizing shampoo since I have very thin hair that get's oily easily. Thought i'd try this brand out since it seemed very popular. I felt like I had to use so much product, does not spread easily throughout the hair no matter how wet it is. I also noticed my hair either breaking off or falling out, either way I was definitely losing hair and my scalp felt so thin and this shampoo and conditioner was the only thing I changed in my hair care routine. This also dried my hair out like crazy! I feel like my hair is ruined.
I have been using the Pureology Pure Volume shampoo and conditioner for at least 10 years, through which they have changed the formula at least 3 or 4 times. The last incarnation was terrible and made my long, fine, thin hair feel and act like straw so much so that it felt like it was matting as I shampooed. So I switched over to the Pureology Clean Volume shampoo and conditioner which I have been using for the last year or so. I recently went to repurchase it only to find that it is being replaced with yet another version of the Pure Volume, so I tried the new version. It is even worse than the last. It made every little broken hair and new growth hair stick up like static from my hair. I recently went to repurchase it only to find that it is being replaced with yet another version of the Pure Volume, so I tried the new version. It is even worse than the last. It made every little broken hair and new growth hair stick up like static from my hair. It felt rough and lacklustre (and my hair is naturally so silky and shiny it is hard to do anything with), so usually I like a shampoo to add a bit of texture and not too much conditioning, but this was ridiculous. So, after phoning Purology who recommended I use the Sheer Volume instead, I bought and used the Sheer Volume Shampoo and the left over Clean volume Conditioner with it, and after that one wash my hair is now flat, silky and unmanagable.I am now searching around local salons and online to track down a couple of bottles of the Clean Volume before they all disappear and hope that will tide me over until Pureology, yet again, change the formula of the Pure Volume. Please just bring back the original formula of the Pure Volume it was just right. Why did you have to go and change something that was so hard to find in the first place?! Additionally, I should note that the Sheer Volume Shampoo and Conditioner (of which I was given a sample of the conditioner) have very strong scents. I can't even use the Sheer Volume Conditioner for the strong mint scent, let alone the weight of the product. Overall, I loved Pureology's original formulation of Pure Volume, and quite like/d the Clean Volume, but I am disappointed that they have been changed/discontinued and don't want to have to go trying new shampoos all the time.
This conditioner definitely lacks a lot of the great qualities of its counterpart the shampoo. The consistency is a light gel/cream and is a little bit sheer in the delivery of moisture to the hair. This is usually a good thing when it comes to volumizing products because otherwise it will weigh the hair down if it has too much moisture. I feel that the formula could be improved by adding richer moisture that can be rinsed out easily and perhaps be able to be modified in a sense for those who happen to need extra moisture. I found myself having to use quite a large amount in order to feel that my shoulder length hair was completely saturated with conditioner. The shampoo knocked the ball out of the park and so maybe the immediate contrast after using the shampoo ... MoreThis conditioner definitely lacks a lot of the great qualities of its counterpart the shampoo. The shampoo knocked the ball out of the park and so maybe the immediate contrast after using the shampoo affected my opinion of the conditioner. I left it in for a few minutes but it recommends to leave it and no longer than one minute. I felt texture to my hair after rinsing and I usually like to feel my hair is smooth and slick after conditioning. I will continue to purchase this conditioner and use my hair masks in even intervals. It should be noted that I always pair my shampoos directly with my conditioners. Being conflicted with my feelings about this conditioner allows me to reflect upon the fact that my hair after air drying was left incredibly soft, full and voluminous. To sum it up, it did the job and ultimately impressed me with the results. I genuinely feel I just need to get used to the way the product works because the results are so incredibly worth it..
