Best headphones I've ever owned

Overall, these headphones are incredible, especially for the price. They are extremely comfortable which is difficult to find for someone who wears glasses. Other headphones either smash my glasses into my ears and head making them extremely uncomfortable to wear or I have to remove them altogether. These don't do this at all. Their overall sound is pretty good but is highly improved once you install the 7.1 surround sound which is fairly easy to install. The noise-canceling isn't quite true until the surround sound is installed, but that isn't a bad thing. This gives you the option to chose between noise-canceling or not and that is pretty cool in my opinion. My favorite thing about these is the bass and its ability. I feel every gunshot or grunt rumble in my skull ... MoreOverall, these headphones are incredible, especially for the price. They also come with a two-year warranty from Razer as well when you register them through their site. All-in-all, I'd say it is well worth the purchase whether you are just starting to get into gaming or have been gaming for years. Definitely my favorite pair out of the many that I've owned.

Cheap quality.

At first, this headset was great. Great mic, great audio quality and was probably the best headset I had had before. About 3 months after purchase, the headband started cracking (I don't know whether I stretched it too much or something but others have also had this problem). I first disregarded it until a few days ago (1 year after purchase), when the headset broke into 2 pieces. I have tried many other headsets and not a single on has been cracked like this before. I personally would not recommend others to buy this.

Decent so far, bought a month ago.
24 July 2021

I've had one of these headsets for over a month now, and it's still as good as the day I bought it on sale. I wasn't sure before, but it actually seems like a really good deal. I watched a few reviews online and it seemed that the structure at the top of the headset was only made of plastic and not any metal/other material support. I ended up buying this anyway because the structure is still pretty good and as long as you don't step on it or throw it around, I doubt it would break. It's got warranty anyway. In terms of sound quality, the 3D spatial sound in games and music is amazing, but the bass isn't incredibly strong. It's got an excellent microphone surprisingly and personally, I love the look of it. The cushioning of the headset is very very comfortable, with padding on the ears and the top of the head. Apparently, it's good with glasses too. I don't wear glasses but I was able to sit down and play Battlefield for about 5 hours with no problems. The headset itself is very light, it comes with a mono kinda cord that has audio and voice wires in the same plug, but it has a separator included. I'm hoping that all the aspects of this headset will last a long time, because it's definitely worth the money so far. It's obviously compatible with PC, Xbox One/X/S, PS4/5, Switch, and Mobile.Basically, congrats to Razor for making a good headset that's not expensive (even though it doesn't glow).

Doesn't Last
20 January 2022

The audio and comfort is good, I was fine with it for almost a year, until the top band started cracking and then after a while broke open and I had to duct tape it. Then it happened again on the other side, so the whole band is duct taped. Hasn't been comfortable since, this band seems to also be the problem with everyone else. Not to mention there's another problem. The wires tangle up by themselves for some reason. It's been doing this after a few months of use and I ignored as there were no problem, but now my microphone keeps making these horrible sounds and it doesn't even let my voice get through unless I have it in a specific position like an old phone charger does. If you're looking for a good headset to not last, then get it. In the long run it's not worth it.

Excellent headphones, I bought two on sale
17 May 2020

I scored these from JB Hifi when they were on sale two months ago. Definitely great deal. I use them for Zoom work meetings due to covid 19 work from home order and bought one for the office. Definitely hasn't missed a beat. Very comfortable even after wearing for hours. The foam is perfect and they do feel like premium headphones but are very light weight and the sound clarity is terrific. I did my research on youtube and it was spot on as the microphone clarity was crisp and smooth. It doesn't pick up too much background noise which is suprising for a cheap Razer model. It definitely doesn't feel cheap, and feels and performs beyond it's price range. There is one thing and it is if you want to use the 7.1 functionality you will need to use it on a Windows 10 x64 ... MoreI scored these from JB Hifi when they were on sale two months ago. There is one thing and it is if you want to use the 7.1 functionality you will need to use it on a Windows 10 x64 computer. It is simple to download the drivers, enter the serial number on the scratchie card it comes with and once registered with Razer, you can enable 7.1 sound on the speakers. It does show you how to enable it correctly, but after a bit of practice it will work quite well. I did notice that although when 7.1 surround sound is enabled, it only works with games, browsers/youtube but it won't work on Spotify. So you will have to disable it if you plan on listening to music on spotify, but if you listen to music on youtube or your browser it should be fine. Once new updates are released I am sure this will be fixed from Razer.

Good sound quality, comfy, not built to last...
23 January 2022

I originally purchased this headset January 2020, and it is lightweight, comfy, sound is nice and clear, and I like the asthetics of it.After about 9 months of use (once a week), I was told by my online friends that my mic has a hissing sound, and whenever I moved the flexi mic, it would make really loud cracking sounds.I took it back to JB HIFI and they honoured warranty, replaced the headset with a brand new one for me, which was great on JB's behalf. Now about 14 months later, the same thing is happening with the new headset.I still would expect at least 2 years plus for it's life expectancy.I will return it to JB HIFI again, but will try and exchange it for a newer model, or different brand.Good headset, but not built to last. 5/10.

Great Budget Option

TL;DRFantastic budget optionGreat Sound QualityRough Build QualityBreaks EasilyIn my opinion, the Razer Kraken X is a fantastic headset, especially for the price. It gives fantastic sound quality and has given that fantastic quality for the time that I've owned one, that being over a year. As expected from a $50 headset, though, the build quality isn't great and it's definitely something that needs to be taken into consideration. A few months after buying the headset, my brother's literally snapped in half after he was putting it on. It was fixable with electrical tape, but didn't fit as well then. My first and last Razer product
11 August 2021

I don't normally write product reviews but I'm making an exception. I do not recommend this headset. The parts are made of cheap plastic and have started cracking in two places after 17 months of use. I contacted Razer for a replacement, as the product is within its two year warranty, and they immediately denied it because they determined the damage was "customer-caused." I had to reply with a sternly-worded email mentioning my rights as a consumer and their warranty to get them to comply. It is not worth the hassle. It is cheap plastic that will break. I read some other reviews and there are people with my exact experience. This is my first Razer product and it will be my last.

Plastic Slider Arm breaks
7 January 2022

This headsets slider extension arm is made of plastic and broke after only 1 year of low, non-gaming usage. Because slider is made of plastic, a lot of stress is placed on the arm when pulling it to extend/adjust headset or when wearing/removing before/after each use. This happened under warranty and Razer's online only customer support immediately placed the blame on user fault without considering the full picture then refused to fix/replace under warranty. They said I should have bought into their care plan. After several emails back and forth, they finally said they'll do a replacement as a one-off gesture. I'm still waiting for new unit at this stage. I suggest anybody interested to buy another headset that has a metal slider instead.
