I purchased this bike for my 7 year old son for Christmas. out of the box the battery was shot because I stored the bike in my shed, which didn't have any climate control, and the sub zero Temps killed the battery. 100% my fault there so I can't blame Razor for that, however once I fixed the battery I quickly came to realize the 12v motor was very underpowered when it came to moving my 45 pound son around the yard, so I decided to upgrade the bike. after a bit of internet searching I found a 24v upgrade kit on ebay for about 50 bucks, however this didn't include batteries. that was another 40 dollar expense. luckily I only paid 140 dollars for the bike, so the 90 dollars in parts to upgrade it wasn't a huge deal in regards to cost, because in the end he ended up ... If your child is a budding enthusiast, and you don't mind tinkering, then this is a great bike that could see them from 3 years of age up to 8 years of age if you upgrade it to 24 volts around the time they hit 45 pounds. my son is happy with the bike how it sits right now, but he's at the end of this bike age range in my opinion, and he's going to need the bigger bike (MX350) this upcoming Christmas.In short, out of the box this would be a great beginner bike for a 3-4 year old, but I feel maybe for liability reasons Razor cannot advertise it as such, because without modification it struggles real hard to move kids over 40 pounds around, especially if they're trying to ride in grass or dirt.

I bought this last Christmas for my 7 year old who weighed ~50 lbs.It would hardly go on a level, mowed surface. At a slight decline, she had a blast, but getting it back up the hill required her to get off and push it up every time.And my daughter had to bend her legs and her knees would hit the handles! She’s kinda tall for her age, but she doesn’t tower a over her classmates or anything! She looked so uncomfortable. It was a big disappointment. This should be rated for 4-7 year olds, not 7 .

I bought this for my 3 year old. If your child has experience on a balance bike then this is perfect for a 3 year old. I couldn’t imagine buying this for a 7 year old to be honest because my son weighs 36 pounds and the more u weigh the slower it will go. I gave it 3 stars because my son does LOVE it while he’s riding it.. but the thing dies out far too quick. If he’s going full throttle, non stop he might get 10-15 minutes at that full speed, and 20-25 before it’s totally dead. The only way this thing will last you the 45 minutes it says it will, is if you are using it at half speed or less and only for a few minutes at a time . Quite ridiculous if you ask me . I originally wrote a positive review, because its awesome for what it is. My 3 year old loved it and outgrew it in 2 months. She rides a 16 inch bicycle so you can get an idea of her size. The bad: after 2 months the battery would not hold a charge for longer than 8 minutes. I timed it because one day it stopped running within like 15 minutes. I looked at my wife and asked her how long our daughter had been going for, because it seemed really short. We charged it up fully then I timed it resulting in only 8 minutes of short-lived great fun! I cant return it because its outside the 30 day window. Just be warned the batteries are crap and do not last long. What can you expect...its cheap Walmart quality. Our extended family has a razor scooter and the same thing ... First off the bike is very well made, and is plenty powerful as a starter! However, my son is 7, about 49" tall, and 49lbs.. At full charge, up a slight incline, it will start to "fade" out on power. On flat or rolling surfaces, it performs pretty well. (such as streets, grass back yards, semi level surfaces). For my daughter who is 6, 36lbs, and roughly 43' tall- it's perfect and performs as expected except on steep inclines. All in all, a great starter bike for the younger crowd. Not too fast, and easy to stabilize\control. The 40min run time seems to be non-stop running. As both the bikes just keep going and going for a few hours of riding time (as they stop/start alot).We have returned 1 MX125 for the boy to go to the MX350 for that slightly extra power.
Bought this for my grandson who had just turned 5. This is perfect for him! Great electric bike! Charge lasts pretty long. Definitely worth the money. We make sure he wears his helmet and chest protector and he acts like he’s doing motor cross even though he’s not going that fast, which was a concern of mine. Great starter bike to help him learn safety first over speed, learn balance and control, listen, and follow rules!
While Razor recommends this bike for ages 7 , I think it's really too small for that age range and assume the manufacturer doesn't want to accept the risk of a bunch of dads buying these for their 3 year olds (like me!). Assembly was very easy and the included tools were actually good enough that I didn't bother grabbing any of my own to speed things up.As for riding, my son picked it up fairly quickly after previously only riding balance bikes. He's also able to pick it up and get back on it by himself which is pretty cool. There were still quite a few falls but nothing concerning; even when he couldn't ditch, only the plastic fender would contact his leg.Overall I'm very happy with this purchase!
Decent quality build, but the age rating (from Razor, not Walmart) is ridiculous. This bike is rated ages 7 and up with a max rider weight of 110lbs. My daughter is 5 years old and weighs 52lbs. This bike only moved her on a flat cement or tar surface. As soon as she left the driveway onto the lawn, it stopped. It simply did not have enough power to even move her. I cannot see this bike moving anyone over 60lbs, except downhill!We got my son the MX350. He is 7 and weighs 65lbs. The MX350 is good for him, although a little on the small side. My daughter tried his MX350. It is perfect for her.
Purchased this from Big W for my son for Christmas. He is a very small 6year old and only weighs 15kg. This bike does not have enough power, it is very slow on a flat smooth surface and will not go up even a slight incline. Only down a very steep hill can it reach 13km/h. The physical size is suited to my three year old who is smaller than average but again it doesn't have enough power for a 15kg child. It's been a complete waste of money and major disappointment at Christmas. I was planning on buying a razor quad for my daughter and a mx650 for myself but now I don't trust razor products and will find alternatives.

Assembly was straightforward with all necessary tools included (plus a few more for maintenance). Attach the front fork, the front wheel, and adjust the brake handle as needed. It runs very well on the sidewalk, a bit slower on the grass. I could easily keep pace with a light jog on pavement. We haven't tried it on dirt yet, but the tires seem like they'd handle it well. The charger cable is a bit thin but no real issues there. Give it a full 12 hour charge and check the tire pressure after you assemble it.
