A low cost version of the latest (2020) X570 series boards. Although calling it a gaming motherboard might be be optimistic. However for other duties its excellent. It has all the modern connectors one needs (USB 3, M2, Sata etc). Lots of control through the BIOS, including overclocking.Good pairing with AMD Ryzen 3600. Can also use the onboard graphics of Ryzen CPUs with integrated GPU. No hassles, worked first time, pleased with quality so far. On board fan is quiet, so system is not noticeable in use..

Everything looked great, the board ran really smoothly too. Awesome BIOS, booted quickly, I was very happy...until I tried plugging in a pair of headphones. After an hour with MSI support, uninstalling and installing drivers, we determined that the onboard audio was defective. I was disappointed that my new board had issues, but I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning and rebuilding, so I was going to deal with it and get a sound card as a solution. Fast forward 24-48 hours, I leave a discord video call running all night--when I wake up, the PC is completely dead. Won't boot, motherboard not receiving any power at all. I unplugged and replugged everything, changed outlets, even tried different power supplies (which are now both confirmed still working). ... MoreEverything looked great, the board ran really smoothly too. Hopefully none of my other components were damaged by the board as a result. I purchased out of desperation because better boards are out of stock due to human malware and paid a hefty price in time and frustration. Apparently this is a known issue with MSI x570 boards being consistently faulty with bad VRMs/thermals. Save the money and headache down the line by investing more in an ASUS now.

I can easily recommend this board for 2nd gen (3000 series) CPUs. For the 5000 series it may need some work. I loaded the most recent stable bios from MSI onto a regular usb 2.0 thumb drive. Put it in the designated slot pressed the flash bios button and prayed. After few seconds the rest of the board lit up and after about 5 minutes it rebooted and it posted properly. A word of caution. I originally used a Noctua dh 15 air cooler. It is big but fit the board and case. But it covered the CPU power and cpu fan connectors and they were squeezed next to the top of the case. PSU at bottom. So no room for me to connect power and fan. Switched to Corsair h60i water cooler (matches corsair case 100r) and it works like a champ. You can probably use a larger air cooler if you connect power and fan plugs BEFORE you clamp the cooler on the CPU. My case was just too tight for that. Memory runs at xmp speed (3600 cl14) Have not OCd CPU yet. But stress tested with handbrake encoder. Flawless. BIOS is a bit of a mess. Some useful settings such as virtualization and wake by keyboard/mouse are buried and disabled by default. Paired this with a Samsung 980 pro 1TB m.2 pcie 4.0 SSD. Fast boot and wicked fast I/O. Win 10 fresh install. Everything worked but I updated to the MSI/AMD chipset drivers anyway.

This is MSI's pro series motherboard, which appears to be their highest-end consumer motherboard option. At the price it's available for, it's definitely a great buy, especially with how reliable MSI has been for me so far. The only thing it could do better is allow the BIOS to be flashed with larger USB drives, the reason my attempts so far have failed appears to be because I need to use a sub-8GB drive to get it to work. I haven't tried partitioning my USB drive yet, though, so that may change things. My setup, using this motherboard (first time I've built a system): CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 8c 16t GPU: MSI Radeon RX 580 8GB Armor OC Storage: HP EX950 M.2 2280 2TB SSD Seagate IronWolf 4TB 5900 RPM 64MB Cache HDD RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4 3200 ... MoreThis is MSI's pro series motherboard, which appears to be their highest-end consumer motherboard option. This was one of the cheapest X570 motherboards that I could find when I was shopping for a MOBO, and it has been great so far. You may want to upgrade your PSU, but you will not need to. This MOBO has an 8 pin power connection plus a 4 pin power connection for the CPU. I was worried that my system might have stability issues if I didn't have both connections attached to power; however, the 4 pin power connection is not required. Until I upgraded my PSU, I had zero stability issues running off of the single 8 pin connection. I was using a Seasonic FOCUS GM-550 (which had a single 12V CPU connector) until I upgraded a month later to my CORSAIR RM Series RM650 (which has 2x 12V CPU connectors).
One of the few motherboards that includes dual m.2 slots for it's price point. Nice colour-netural design and not a brown PCB as some other manufacturers. USB-C port on the back IO panel and good amount of USB ports. Chipset fan barely turns on and is tweak-able via BIOS. Nice and clean layout for fan headers at the edge of the motherboard allowing consolidated cable routing. No testing with overclocking, but solid platform when using it with my Ryzen 3900 12-core CPU day to day.
This is my 4th motherboard build, and the easiest of all of them. The YouTube-style videos were very helpful and I found the instructions complete and thorough. Other reviewers are right, though, you really need the videos. The written instructions by themselves are pretty weak, which I think is fine. Everything booted up on the first try with no troubleshooting needed. Performance has been great so far. A great experience.
The board arrived ok although it needed new bios update via usb 2.0 flash drive method for ryzen 5600xcpu note that a gpu was needed to drive a monitor as no onboard graphics also recommend the latest updates and drivers from MSI for the lan, chipset, sound output my second build after a long time . Have not tried over clocking the board has been working ok so far with a Radeon 6600xt .m.2 slot 1 nvme drive works ok windows 10 loads in seconds. Used it for a gaming build .
Works perfectly as stated. Packaged very well. Used for wifes new build. She loves it.
I bought this mobo for the upgradability for ryzen 9 3950x and the amount of ram you can run. I unfortunately can not recommend this board. ive had 2 bad boards since september. my first one decided to fry itself after windows 10 install and it killed my ram along with it. i received my 2nd board as replacement and everything seemed fine until a few days ago when i went to swap my case fans and noticed one of my front panel usb connector hubs on the board was damaged and loose. i give it 2 stars for ease of build but the multiple issues ive had has made me less confident in msi
